In the volume On Behula's Raft published in 2008 by Khondakar Ashraf Hossain, some significant social, cultural, political and historical aspects of Bangladesh figure repeatedly. This paper tries to explain how these aspects are reflected in Hossain's poems through text analysis of the primary material and some other primary and secondary sources. In this volume, Behula myth is found to be re-created and modified to suit Hossain's exploration into and celebration of, and commitment to Bangladesh, his beloved and beautiful motherland. Some important characters have been highlighted in this volume such as Bangabandhu's daughter Sheikh Hasina, a victim of fanaticism named Noorjahan, a legendary Bengali female poet called Kankabati and a Dhaka rickshaw-puller named Abushama to present various socio-politico-economic aspects of Bangladesh. Moreover, Bangladesh's liberation war, political reality, problems and potentials have been depicted in most of the poems in the volume. The paper implies that in On Behula's Raft, Hossain (2008) upholds a Bangladesh consciousness on an epical scale which has rendered great significance to the volume.

New forms of work intermediation - the gig economy - and the growing use of advanced digital technologies - the new knowledge economy - are changing the nature of work. The digitalization of work, however, is shaped by how countries respond to it. Following a discursive-institutionalist approach, we argue that to understand how countries respond to digitalization we need to understand how they perceive and conceive of it in the first place. Using various methods of quantitative text analysis on a novel corpus of translated newspaper and policy documents from eight European countries as well as qualitative evidence from interviews and secondary sources, we show that there are clear country effects in how digitalization is framed and fought over; that formal and informal institutions are crucial to understand these differences; but that actors can also use their discursive agency to defend or attack these institutions.

The study analyses selected economic aspects of the innovative activity of industrial and service enterprises in Poland by voivodships. The share of innovation-active enterprises and innovative enterprises as well as the share of enterprise revenue from sales of new or significantly improved products in total sales revenue were analyzed. The study was prepared based on available secondary sources. The analysis applies to selected years of the period 2008-2017 due to the completeness and comparability of data. It was found, inter alia, that within the scope of measures of innovation adopted in the study, there were multidirectional fluctuations in voivodships. A positive relationship was found between expenditure on innovation activities and the share of revenue from the sale of new or significantly improved products in the total revenue from sales of most industrial enterprises, while a negative relationship was found in the case of service enterprises. One can notice occurring polarization among voivodships in the scope of their parameters subjected to analysis. This is confirmed by the fact that Poland is continuously divided into voivodships that are leaders of innovative activities, as well as those that require special assistance in this respect.
