Learning English is so important today in this era globalization and modern since English is an International Language. Nowadays, students are required to be able to understand and get to know English further, this is evidenced by the existence of English lesson in every school, from kindergarten to Senior High School. Because of the development of education, many of National schools adopt two language systems in teaching, namely bilingual language.  In Teaching English, especially narrative text, it is quite difficult, especially if we learnt seventh grade students whose age about eleven until twelve years old, as we know that, the age of 11 – 12 years old usually have a very high level of boredom, especially they learnt about text. As the teacher, we have to reduce their boredom and make the class more interactive. On the Interactive class, The students do not only listen or read a text from the textbook but also must be answer the question based on the text. From this observation, the writer want to compare about how if the technology nowadays will be combined in Teaching and Learning Process. This journal discusses about to find out whether the students’ interest in writing narrative taught by using text book is significantly higher than that taught by animated . The students would learn how to produce a narrative text (fable) by using textbook and watching in Video. From this observation, the writer found that using You Tube as a visual media is more effective in teaching narrative than using text book as a printed media in teaching media for seventh grade students, the class is more interactive by using a You Tube, it means that students can learn English especially how to speak fluently through the characters in the Video, and the teacher can be easier in providing an understanding of the meaning related on narrative text. Keywords: Writing Narrative , You Tube Video, Seventh Grade Students’ Interest

This research aims to describe the expressive value of grammar in the discourse of corruption in the print media "Fajar" which includes expressive modalities. Expressive modality is a modality that is used to indicate the authority of producing texts with regard to the truth or possible representation of reality. The research method used is a qualitative research method with a critical discourse analysis approach to the Norman Fairclough model. The data source in this study is the discourse on corruption in Fajar's print media, while the data is the expressive modality in the discourse of corruption in the "Fajar" print media. This data was collected using the following techniques: documentation, especially external documentation in the form of news published in the print media "Fajar" from the 1 December 2018 edition to the 28 February 2019 edition which was taken randomly, observed, read, and recorded. The data that has been collected is then analyzed using the critical discourse analysis approach of Norman Fairclough's model by means of description, interpretation, and explanation. From the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that the expressive modalities expressed by the text generators in the discourse on corruption in the printed media "Fajar" include: the modalities of truth which are marked by words or modals still, already, and definitely; the modality of desire expressed through modal can, so, will, and wants, and the modality of necessity expressed through modal must have imperative and directive power to move other people to do something in accordance with what the text generator wants.

Alongside the advance of Islamic reformism in the early twentieth century, one central element to pay attention is the rise of printed media, Islamic book, which enhanced the shaping of the reformist Muslims. Written in Malay with Rumi script, the books with Islamic substance first appeared as part of Islamic reform movement. Nearly all the authors were the leading activists of reformist organizations. This trend continued to develop, leading the books to emerge as an important pillar in the formation of Islamic intellectual discourses. This study focuses on the historical study of the Islamic books development and progression, with strong emphasis given to the ideas behind their rising in the courses of Indonesian history. Based on the classical theory of discourse of Michel Foucault, as well as the one of post-linguistic turn historiography, this article demonstrates, in reference to the three time periods which each presented a specific mode of intellectual thinking,  the growing importance of Islamic books in the making of print-based religious life, which paved the way for the strengthening of socio-religious plurality in modern Indonesia. Firstly, Islamic Book as the voice of Islamic reform, secondly, Islamic Books in 1950s-1960s, and lastly, Islamic Books in contemporary Indonesia.

<p>This thesis focuses on English N+N compounds and the primary purpose of the study is to investigate the way in which compounded structures acquire their meaning and to check the way in which the semantics of each of the constituents contributes to the overall meaning of the structure. The way in which such contributions are made should be inferable from the linguistic analysis of the structure and meaning of compounds. In order to do this, the thesis looks first at the morphological productivity of the constituents comprising a compound. The second aim is to identify whether the productivity of a compound constituent on the morphological level coincides with the productivity of the semantic relation realised in the constituent family. The discussion of the results obtained from a corpus study provides plausible explanations for the regularities noted in the course of the analysis by using some of the relevant principles from the complex of approaches including the Construction Grammar and Cognitive Grammar approaches. Examples of compounds were collected from the printed media (NZ broadsheets) and the BNC. The analysis of the data used both quantitative and qualitative methods. The quantitative analysis of the data confirms two hypotheses: (1) that a constituent is more productive in just one of the positions (modifier or head), and (2) the more productive a constituent is, the more likely it is to realise a single semantic relation in a constituent family. The qualitative analysis involves consideration of the semantic content of the concepts in each constituent in order to see how this content is reflected in the semantic relations realised by a constituent. It is discovered that the semantic content of the head is a stronger predictor of the relation realised in a compound than that of the modifier. The study is important in order to better understand the factors that govern the formation of compounds and the patterns that speakers use in the process of coining complex lexical items ...</p>

<p>The explosion of computer propelled technology has affected architectural creation in every way. Achitecture as space is now considered corporeal from the moment the computer screen is powered. Time as a design driver’s resonance is being diluted in favour of material performance and manipulating capacity, yet the natural world is being absorbed as an aesthetic driver in much of contemporary architecture. This technological change is asking users to change their perception on what architecture means to them if it is not physically located in-situ. Architecture as a discipline is shifting to one that sits atop site, rather than growing from. This thesis asks whether natural elements are being misinterpreted when tranlated into digital space. It questions the aesthetics of parametric architecture when the notions of movement and speed are applied, and asks if there is a possibility to create architcture that embodies archeological integrity from the moment of conception. The tension between Time and Movement are explored, not as being mutually exclusive, but as hand in hand. It examines ideas postulated by Jacques Herzog, Pierre de Meuron and David Leatherbarrow, and hypothesises that manipulation of material, not material form, is the most important lens in which to discuss movement. The conclusions drawn first acknowledge the merits of architectural reproduction as necessary when postulating a position purely existing in printed media, thus requiring a level of interpretation into its repesentation. It identifies a site in need of an architecture to test the ideas, and produces a design solution concluding that architecture’s direction when applying digital creation should acknowledge a building’s place over time, rather than place in time.</p>

This article explores the use of photography and visual motifs as forms of political humour in contemporary media. By studying the representation of former Prime Minister of Spain Mariano Rajoy in the front pages of three Spanish newspapers (El Mundo, El País and La Vanguardia) between 2011 and 2017, the paper identifies and questions the liaisons between power and satire present in the so-called “serious” press, focusing on how different photographic traits concerning layout, composition and gestures reflect ideological choices. This photographic satire developed by printed media is then framed within a figurative tradition that goes back to Spanish royal portraiture, from Velázquez to Goya, which employs common strategies for the visual depiction of power, including satirical and humorous attributes to push specific political agendas. This examination, based on the quantified study and the visual analysis of more than 7,500 front pages, is part of the national research project Visual Motifs in the Public Sphere: Production and Circulation of Images of Power in Spain, 2011-2017. In order to determine a useful procedural approach to satirical expressions in photographs, defining which front pages invoke a remarkable satirical content, this article also presents a comparative study and a categorisation based on formal (im)balances related to the concepts of visual motif and humour.

The technological revolution for the Paperless Criminal Court Process is that in the development of evidence as regulated in the Criminal Procedure Code, it can no longer accommodate developments in information technology; this creates new problems. This problem causes the form of printed media to be shifted to digital media (paperless). This shift makes a significant change in crime using computers because evidence of a crime that will lead to a criminal event is in electronic data. Either on the computer itself (hard disk/floppy disc) or printed out or in another form in the form of a trace (path) of a computer user activity. The judge is not related to the correctness of conformity embodied on the instructions as evidence because electronic evidence cannot stand alone to prove the defendant's guilt. Therefore, it needs to be supported by other evidence.
