Tamaka Shwasa is tridoshaja vatakapha pradhana avaranajanya Yapya vyadhi and requires Samhita based evidence-based scientific approach with current standards. Tamaka Shwasa is nearer to bronchial asthma identified with airway obstruction, inflammation, producing extra mucus making it difficult in breathing with a prevalence rate of 2.05% of 18 million asthmatics in the nation leading to reduced quality of life along with socioeconomic burden. The contemporary steroidal research has not yielded satisfactory outcomes and is a threat to safety. A case of Tamaka Shwasa from the OPD of TGAMC&H, c/o Shwasa Krichrata, Kasa etc. with PEF-250 Lt/min, AEC-970cells/cumm. has been taken for the present case study. After the diagnosis of Tamaka shwasa by Pratyatma lakshanas and relevant investigations, managed with Sadhyovamana, virechana and shaman aushadhi like guda taila yoga. Improvements were noticed in Kasa Shwasa Krichrata, Gurgurata, asino labhate sukham, parshwashula. Also, improvements were observed in Spirometry taken before and after treatment. The combined effect of shodhana followed by shaman acts as deepana, pachana, Srotoshodhaka, kaphahara, vatanulomana, Rasayana, brahmana, shwasahara. Shodhanottara guda taila prayoga showed significant improvements in both subjective and objective parameters taken in the study.

Purpose Misophonia is a sound tolerance disorder condition in certain sounds that trigger intense emotional or physiological responses. While some persons may experience misophonia, a few patients suffer from misophonia. However, there is a dearth of literature on audiological assessment and management of persons with misophonia. The purpose of this report is to discuss the assessment of misophonia and highlight the management option that helped a patient with misophonia. Method A case study of a 26-year-old woman with the complaint of decreased tolerance to specific sounds affecting quality of life is reported. Audiological assessment differentiated misophonia from hyperacusis. Management included retraining counseling as well as desensitization and habituation therapy based on the principles described by P. J. Jastreboff and Jastreboff (2014). A misophonia questionnaire was administered at regular intervals to monitor the effectiveness of therapy. Results A detailed case history and audiological evaluations including pure-tone audiogram and Johnson Hyperacusis Index revealed the presence of misophonia. The patient benefitted from intervention, and the scores of the misophonia questionnaire indicated a decrease in the severity of the problem. Conclusions It is important to differentially diagnose misophonia and hyperacusis in persons with sound tolerance disorders. Retraining counseling as well as desensitization and habituation therapy can help patients who suffer from misophonia.

Zakat is one of the five pillars of Islam which has a function of faith, social and economic functions. Muslims who can pay zakat are required to give at least 2.5 per cent of their wealth. The problem of poverty prevalent in disadvantaged regions because of the difficulty of access to information and communication led to a gap that is so high in wealth and resources. The instrument of zakat provides a paradigm in the achievement of equitable wealth distribution and healthy circulation. Zakat potentially offers a better life and improves the quality of human being. There is a human quality improvement not only in economic terms but also in spiritual terms such as improving religiousity. This study aims to examine the role of zakat to alleviate humanitarian issues in disadvantaged regions such as Sijunjung, one of zakat beneficiaries and impoverished areas in Indonesia. The researcher attempted a Cibest method to capture the impact of zakat beneficiaries before and after becoming a member of Zakat Community Development (ZCD) Program in material and spiritual value. The overall analysis shows that zakat has a positive impact on disadvantaged regions development and enhance the quality of life of the community. There is an improvement in the average of mustahik household incomes after becoming a member of ZCD Program. Cibest model demonstrates that material, spiritual, and absolute poverty index decreased by 10, 5, and 6 per cent. Meanwhile, the welfare index is increased by 21 per cent. These findings have significant implications for developing the quality of life in disadvantaged regions in Sijunjung. Therefore, zakat is one of the instruments to change the status of disadvantaged areas to be equivalent to other areas.

She was a known case of hypertension and grade-2 bilateral knee osteoarthritis. Her level of depression, anxiety and stress was evaluated through DASS-21 (Depression Anxiety Stress Scale) questionnaire. Short Form of health related questionnaire (SF-36) was used for the assessment of quality of life. Emotional liberation breathing technique and multimodal physical therapy approaches were used to treat the patient for 2 weeks of periods 3 sessions per week. Results: After four weeks of follow up the patient was presented with significant improvement in all the parameters depression, anxiety, stress and quality of life (physical functioning, role of limitation-physical health, role of limitation-emotional health, energy, emotional wellbeing, Body pain and general health). These outcomes were reduced the use of analgesics and sedative drugs. Background: Geriatric care is an important part in healthcare and are sometimes neglected.  Family caregivers figures assume a key role in postponing and potentially forestalling standardization of chronically ill elderly patients. The role of family function in depression has been demonstrated from earlier studies, however, the part of family function in quality of life the elderly has not concentrated widely. Objective: To evaluate the connection between family function and quality of life. Methods: Literature searching was conducted through PubMed, Science Direct and Embase. Critical appraisal using appraisal sheet for prognosis from Oxford Center for Evidence Based Medicine in 2011. Results: One article was found with good validity showed that direct relationship between family function and quality of life is not associated. However, if depression is present it plays as a strong mediator between family function and quality of life. Conclusion: Family function mediated with depression plays an important role in quality of life in elderly patients.

Objective. To explore the application of evidence-based nursing (EBN) intervention combined with PBL teaching mode in acute myocardial infarction (AMI) nursing and the effects on quality of life (QOL) and satisfaction of patients. Methods. Ninety AMI patients enrolled in our hospital (January 2019-January 2021) were chosen as the study subjects and equally randomized into group M and group N. Group N received conventional nursing, and group M received EBN combined with PBL teaching mode. The cardiac function indexes, self-care ability, disease awareness and nursing satisfaction were compared between the two groups. The self-care ability was scored by the Exercise of Self-Care Agency Scale (ESCA). The QOL of both groups before and after intervention was scored by the Generic Quality of Life lnventory-74 (GQOLI-74). The emotional state before and after intervention was evaluated by the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HAD). Results. After nursing, cardiac function indexes were markedly higher in group M than group N (P<0.001). Compared with group N, group M achieved notably higher ESCA scores (P<0.001), higher awareness of disease knowledge (P<0.001) and higher nursing satisfaction (P<0.05). After intervention, the GQOLI-74 score in group M was obviously higher while the HAD score was lower compared with group N (P<0.001). Conclusion. The implementation of EBN combined with PBL teaching model in AMI patients can effectively improve nursing satisfaction and QOL as well as alleviate the negative emotions, so as to create a harmonious nurse-patient relationship. Therefore, it is worth applying and promoting.

The purpose of this article is to examine future directions in rehabilitation counseling research that will build on prior investigations to improve rehabilitation outcomes and enhance the quality of life of people with disabilities. The authors discuss the role of theory in guiding future research and implementing evidence-based practices. Next, they recommend topics to be further investigated in future inquiry. The article concludes with an exploration of emerging research approaches and techniques that are either beginning to be used by rehabilitation researchers or, if not being used, have the potential to contribute to the rehabilitation counseling knowledge base.
