Permucosal osseointegrated dental implants are a highly effective and predictable treatment modality for edentulism. This review discusses some controversial aspects of the definitions for success and failure of root-form dental implants. The discussion will focus on the underlying pathologies that, if untreated, may lead to loss of the implanted device. Few clinical syndromes are described based on human pathological material and clinical presentation. The theoretical chronological relationship between implant loss and the incidence of pathology of the soft- and hard-tissue seal around implants is also discussed. The review also examines the finding that implant failures are not randomly distributed in the treated populations and that implant loss clusters in specific high-risk groups and individuals. Known risk indicators, and possible risk factors, are discussed, taking into account the patient, the reconstruction, the implant, and implant site-specific factors. Particular emphasis is placed on the need for better determination of whether periodontal patients are at higher risk for implant failures as a consequence of their increased susceptibility to infectious, inflammatory-response-driven tissue breakdown.

This study was carried out on 1-year old trees of ‘0900 Ziraat’ variety grafted onto ‘Kuş kirazi’, ‘Kara idris’, ‘Sari idris’, ‘MaxMa 14’, ‘MaxMa 60’ and ‘Gisela 5’ in order to determine their compatibility. For this purpose, total peroxidase activity was determined by spectrophotomery assay. Taking ground tissue samples were planned three times as before the grafting (beginning), and then 8 and 12 months after grafting. Total peroxidase activities of rootstocks before grafting varied between 10.80 ΔAg.min. (‘Kuş kirazi’) and 7.83 ΔAg.min. (‘Kara idris’) and were found to be statistically important. The peroxidase activity of ‘0900 Ziraat’ was 11.07ΔAg.min. and the closest value occurred in Prunus avium rootstock. The most different values occurred in rootstocks of ‘Kara idris’ and ‘Gisela 5’. The results showed that peroxidase activity increased in rootstock and graft scion. This increase had higher values in heterogenetic combinations especially in ‘0900 Ziraat’/‘Gisela 5’ and ‘0900 Ziraat’/‘Kara idris’ grafts. Peroxidase activity was decreased at the 12th month for all combinations. The highest value was obtained from ‘0900 Ziraat’/‘MaxMa 14’ combinaion with 29.17 ΔAg.min. while lowest one was ‘0900 Ziraat’/‘Kuş kirazi’ with 17.39. The findings showed that peroxidase activity could be used as a parameter in early determination of graft incompatibility.

With the theory of ecology and ecosystem health evaluation, the factors impacting river ecosystem health are analyzed and an evaluation system is built. The connotation of river ecosystem responding to the cascade development of reservoirs is studied. The response of typical plankton, benthos, fish to cascade development is identified. According the living and breeding habits of key species, typical representatives are selected to establish the grading standards of ecological health and evaluate ecosystem health as well as the effect of eco-hydrology regulation under cascade development of typical reservoirs. Results show that the annual distribution of runoff tends to be balanced, with reduced amount of suspended sediment in downstream; species fond of shallow water and rapids suffered decreased habitat space and a decline in its number, resulting in decreased diversity of fish species; and the quality of some river segments failed to meet the standard.

It can be concluded that the system of analysis and risk management is an effective mechanism for accelerating of customs clearance and improving of the quality of customs control in the functioning of the transport system. The proposed risk management mechanism for performing customs and technological procedures within the transport system reflects a sequence of actions that involves selecting one or more monitoring objects for careful analysis and determination of risk indicators, followed by a decision on the use of forms and methods of customs control, taking into account the probability the occurrence of potential or real loss. The use of the proposed methodology will significantly shorten the time of customs procedures, and therefore, reduce the time of transportation of goods across the border, exclude the downtime of transports through the implementation of simplified controls taking into account the requirements of the World Trade Organization, as well as the integrated use of the Kyoto Convention on the basis of assessing of the loss from the risk situation.

Pattern analysis procedures were used to delineate groups of test environments which elicited similar relative yield performance patterns in sets of wheat cultivars. In each of four years there was a tendency for environments from particular regions to be grouped. However, the composition of these groups varied across years. The relative values for the variance component estimates from data for two subsequent years tended to support the conclusions suggested from the pattern analysis. A phased yield evaluation system is suggested. It is derived from a consideration of the lack of consistency of similarity of cultivar response patterns across regions and the need to evaluate large populations in early generations. This system would tend to maximize discrimination among cultivars on the form of their cultivar x environment response patterns.
