This paper is the result of tried out of innovation in Mechanics course with problem solving teaching-learning model based on concept by using computer, conducted in DUE Like project at Physics Department of FPMIPA UPI in academic year 2002/2003.In principle, the objective of this innovation is to improve the student role (student centred) in attending Mechanics course, which in turn will improve the quality of the student learning result.Concretely, the main point of the implementation of this learning model in Mechanics course includes:1. Group discussion in finding and solving problem, based on problem and concept structure that presented in handout.2. Presentation the result of group discussion to get comments from all students.3. Strengthening and completing the discussion result by lecturer using computer media.4. Tutorial to guide students in finishing some problems taken from textbook.Derived from the average score and the percent of the success student in each examination, it can be concluded that the usage of problem solving teaching- learning model based on concept by using computer media, significantly can improve the student learning result, compared to the result of the same course when it is just using OHP. While from the answer of the questioner which just returned by 50% students, generally stated that the teaching-learning model and the media used in Mechanics lecture are good enough, even though there is an impression that the students found difficulty in learning alone which based on textbook and handout. It happened, may be, because of the previous learning style which is teacher-centred.

The purpose of this study are (1) to analyze the improvement of problem solving abilities of fifth grade students before and applied contextual learning models based on local excellence, and (2) analyze the improvement of problem solving skills of fifth grade students before and apply the model to which contextual teaching based learning is applied local excellence. This research is a quantitative research with quasi-experimental design in the form of one group pretest posttest. Analysis of the data used in this study used the n-gain test. The n-gain trial which is used to study the improvement of problem solving abilities and skills in fifth grade students. Based on the results of the research that has been obtained, the results are (1) Contextual Learning based on local excellence, and (2) is a model of improving learning based on Class V problems before using the Contextual Learning model and using the Contextual Learning model based on local excellence.

The objective of the present research is to determine whether there is or not the effect of Quantum Teaching learning model on class- and school type-based portfolio assessment mode and its interaction effect on the mathematical problem solving ability of students in both elementary schools and madrasah ibtidaiyahs in Indramayu. The research method used was an experimental method with a 2x2 factorial design. Learning method, assessment mode, and school type were the treatment variables, and mathematical problem solving ability was respond variable. The research sample was grade-V students of SDs Karang Anyar I & II and grade-V students of MI PUI and Al-Irsyad of Indramayu selected by a cluster random sampling. The analysis technique used was two-way ANAVA to test both main effect and interaction effect. From the research result it was concluded that (1) the elementary school student group treated with Quantum Teaching learning model with class-based portfolio assessment mode was more effective in enhancing mathematical problem solving ability than madrasah ibtidaiyah group, (2) the students group treated with Quantum Teaching learning model with display portfolio assessment mode was more effective in enhancing mathematical problem solving ability than the student group treated with document portfolio assessment mode. It was suggested that Quantum Teaching learning model with a display portfolio assessment mode should be made as a learning model prioritized in mathematics learning in schools.

This study is aimed at developing ERIES learning model to improve semester V student-teacher’s basic teaching skills in Teaching Learning Strategy lecture in Indonesian Language and Literature Study Program. Through the implementation of Lesson Study, ERIES model was developed by Exploration, Reflection, Interaction, Elaboration, and Summary steps. The method applied in the study is Research and Development and the approach used is qualitative and quantitative. Qualitative data were gained from needs analysis and response to the developed product, while quantitative data were gained from the test of the product and the effectiveness of the model. Research result shows that ERIES learning model is needed by student-teacher. Structurally this model is valid, relevant and fit the principles of learning model development both in its substance and its structure. Based on the try-out result from experimental research, ERIES learning model is effective to improve student-teacher’s basic teaching skills. The achievement is better than non-ERIES learning model.

The purpose of this research is to determine the effectiveness of the development of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model based on local wisdom in solving environmental problems and the students’ ability to develop learning media. Research conducted at Educational Faculty and teaching sciences of Pakuan University. This research uses the method of Research and Development with the ADDIE model, comprising analyses, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The data were obtained from the validation by three experts, namely learning material expert, learning media expert, and learning model expert. The effectiveness assessment was done by N-Gain assessment environmental problem-solving ability and evaluating the multimedia product. The steps to develop the model are as follows: need analysis, designing learning model development, learning model development, learning model validation by the experts, learning model implementation in class, and model evaluation. The product created by the students from learning through PjBL based on local wisdom is a video about local wisdom. According to the data analysis result, it can be concluded that model development of PjBL based on local wisdom improves their ability to solve environmental problems, the average score is 0.69 in experiment class and the score in control class is 0.055 (scales of 0-1.0). The ability to develop video environmental learning media the score video product in experiment class is 2.4 and in the control class is 2.2 (scales of 1-3).

Students' mathematical problem solving ability is very important. But the results of the observation and supported by several studies of students' mathematical problem solving abilities are still very low. It is suspected that reciprocal teaching learning model with the help of tripships can improve students' mathematical problem solving abilities. This study aims to determine the effect of using reciprocal teaching models with fieldtrips on students' mathematical problem solving abilities. The sampling technique used was cluster random sampling with 2 classes, namely experimental class (the class was treated with reciprocal teaching learning model with fieldtrip), and the control class (the class was treated by conventional models). The hypothesis test used is the t-test. The results of the study found that there were differences in students 'mathematical problem solving abilities using reciprocal eaching learning models with fieldtrips on students' mathematical problem solving abilities. Furthermore, the mathematical problem solving ability of students with reciprocal teaching learning model is better than the students' mathematical problem solving abilities using conventional learning models. The conclusion of this study is that there is influence in improving students' mathematical problem solving ability by using reciprocal teaching learning model with fieldtrip to.
