Purpose: Iran's situation in its competitive market and developing economy has encouraged entrepreneurial industrial organizations to improve the quality of their products and services so that they can enter the world's competitive market. To do so, they need to incorporate some effective means, one of which is total quality management. Total quality management is both a culture and a series of strategic principles to ensure consistent progress in entrepreneurial organizations. Methods: This is a descriptive correlational study. The statistical population is 321 insurance employees in Tehran, Iran; 140 of these employees were randomly selected as a sample group by the use of the Morgan table. The Research tool is the Total Quality Management questionnaire that consists of the Organizational Performance Questionnaire by Kaplan and Norton (2001) and the Total Quality Management questionnaire by Wang et al (2012). Cranach's alpha method was applied to measure reliability, and the results were confirmed. To analyze the research data, inferential statistics were used including Kolmogorov–Smirnov test (K-S) for the normality of the data and the Regression method to test hypotheses. SPSS software was also used to analyze and process the research data. Conclusion: results indicate that Total Quality Management has a significant influence on organizations' performance including the performance of financial sections, organizations' customers, the internal process, and organizations' learning and progress.

A total of 148 employees of Shirin Asal Company (Tehran Branch) constituted the research statistical population that Cochran’s formula was used to choose 106 subjects as the sample size by a simple random sampling method.Standard questionnaires were employed to gather the essential data. The validity and reliability of variables were also examined and approved. The reliability rates for business ethics, organizational culture, and total quality management were calculated to be equivalent to 0.78, 0.89, and 0.90, respectively. The structural equation modeling method assisted with the Smart PLS2 software was utilized for data analysis. About 230 received questionnaires were used for data analysis. Response rate was 83.63 percent. In particular, hypotheses were developed to examine the effect of TQM on the OP of the manufacturing organizations. Cronbach's alpha reliability of questionnaire was analyzed using factor analysis. Rigorous literature review is enabled to construct structural measurement model, formulation of testable hypothesis and operationalization of constructs.FindingsIt is discovered that TQM has a positive and significant effect on the market orientation (MO). Similarly, the results showed that MO has a positive and significant effect on the OP. With regard to the relationship between TQM and OP, this study found that TQM significantly and positively affects the OP of Indian manufacturing organizations.Originality/valueThis study is a rare and unique empirical study that establishes a link among TQM, MO and OP. Most global studies have to a greater extent underscored the importance of Total quality management practices and some marketing aspects concerning organizational performance. Most studies have focused on establishing the level to which TQM practices influence customer satisfaction and not the whole organization. There is also little evidence on how marketing practices influence organizational performance. This study therefore seeks to assess the impact of Total Quality management practices and marketing on organizational performance. Data was collected from a sample size of 289 respondents who were employees of the different manufacturing industries in Greece. Data was analyzed using SPSS and Pearson’s rank correlation coefficient was used to establish the relationship between study variables. The study findings confirmed the presence of a relationship between TQM practices and organizational performance. Similarly there was a positive relationship between marketing practices and organizational performance. The study concluded that the TQM practices and marketing are great influencers of quality hence should always be applied in organizations.

The aim of the study is find out the impact of applying different total quality management (TQM) practices on the performance of employees in the Lebanese industrial sector. The implementation of total quality management in Lebanese companies is very narrow where few companies work to apply Total Quality Management elements and concepts in its operations. Sanita is a Lebanese company that has applied the principles of total quality management relatively in all of its operations, so it has a large share of its products in the Lebanese market. In this quantitative survey designed study, 160 self-administered questionnaires were distributed for employees working at different career level (Top level management / Middle level management / Supervisor / Operator /technician / other workers) in Sanita main branch (Halat -Lebanon) and Sanita factory (Zouk Mosbeh -Lebanon). The survey concluded various questions related to the dependent variable employee performance and the independent variable related to practices of total quality management (leadership, teamwork, training and education, empowerment, communication). Using the quantitative correlation Pearson test, a strong influence emerged for the implementation of TQM principles on the performance of employees at Sanita and its factories; thus accepting the main alternative hypothesis.
