Vernacular and traditional architecture occupies a central place in the soul and pride of all people and has been accepted as a characteristic and attractive product of society, with a formal image. There is talk of a utilitarian architecture, which possesses interest and beauty, and which retains in the contemporary memory of the history of society. At the same time, it is unworthy of human heritage if this traditional harmony is not preserved, which is, in fact, the core of the human experience. In this context, the purpose of this study is to emphasize the beauty of traditional Romanian architecture in terms of philately. We want to expose the architectural specifics of three areas - Audia (Neamț), Bancu (Harghita), and Berbești (Maramureș) using postage stamps, illustrated postcards and other philatelic effects.

Traditional architecture occupies a central place in the soul and pride of all people and has been accepted as a characteristic and attractive product of society. As a utilitarian architecture, which possesses interest and beauty, it retains the history of society. At the same time, it is unworthy of human heritage if this traditional harmony is not preserved, which is, in fact, the core of the human experience. Acting somehow on the same principle of conservation, philately can be considered as a useful means of preserving the traditional architectural memory in Romanian cities and villages. To show that thematic philately implies in essence this aspect of the preservation of the memory of places, in the present study we appeal to various forms of representation specific to philately. In this context, the study aims to emphasize the beauty of Romanian traditional architecture in terms of thematic philately. We want to expose the architectural specifics from five areas - Drăguș (Brașov), Dumbrăveni (Suceava), Dumitra (Alba), Fundu Moldovei (Suceava) and Goicea Mică (Dolj) using stamps, entire covers, illustrated postcards, and other philatelic effects. We also aim to see if the pieces in question fully illustrate the zonal architectural specificity or only a part of it; equally, we want to show that philately can be a landmark in documenting today's young people about what was and is traditional architecture. Thus, they can be reoriented towards what is durable, specific to the area, without altering the local tradition of folk craftsmen where it sanctifies the place and ensures vigor at the agrotourism level.

This article analyzes the Story of a fisherman Yết Kiêu (歇驕) who is worshiped as a tutelary spirit in villages of Northern Vietnam. Yết Kiêu is a semi-mythical character and he is widely credited with supernatural abilities and merits in war against the Mongols (1288). I investigate the text that belongs to thần tích genre (神). It is a manuscript written in Vietnamese at Yết Kiêu’s birthplace, which is the central place of his worship (on the basis of previous texts of the 16th–19th centuries). The Story of Yết Kiêu has a complex structure reflecting the history of the development of this particular text and the whole genre as well. The story can be divided in four parts differing in form and content: the folk layer (the oldest part), the historical narrative (likely compiled by court historiographers in the 15th–17th centuries), the legend of Yết Kiêu’s Mongolian bride (emerged evidently in a temple community during later centuries) and the description of Yết Kiêu’s cult (which appeared under the influence of the European research methods in the early 20th century). The article contains a fragment of the story translated into Russian.

This paper aims to take the longitudinal development history of the Lenovo Cross-border complex nested R&D organization as the research object, to explore the development rules of enterprise niche. Strategic positioning is the core issue of enterprise management, and enterprise niche is the core issue of strategic positioning. This study elaborates on the three stages of enterprise R&D organizational ambidexterity promoting enterprise niche evolution, discusses the process model of space development, and reveals the life cycle of enterprise niche. It reveals the deep reason for promoting enterprise niche to develop—the ambidexterity of complex nested organization. The conclusion helps to promote the successful space development of enterprise niches through Cross-border merger and acquisition, and to enhance global sustainable development for the companies from emerging markets such as China.

In the digital age, technology and digital media shapes virtually every aspect of our lives. Poetry, which has seen a surprising revival in recent years, is no exception. One of the most popular contemporary poets today is Rupi Kaur, made famous for her verse posted on the social media platform Instagram. This MRP seeks to answer the following research questions: 1) In what ways has the digital age effected contemporary poetry? 2) What role has digital media played in shaping the success and formal elements of Rupi Kaur’s body of work? This MRP begins by offering a brief history of poetry’s relationship with media and an account of how poetry is produced and consumed in the digital age. The core of the MRP is a case study of contemporary Insta-poet Rupi Kaur. Through qualitative visual and textual analysis, the case study considers: 1) Kaur’s poetry, 2) her Instagram content, 3) her readership, and 4) the criticisms of her work. This chapter argues that the expansion of a nation’s shipping industry, though often accompanied by imperialist activity, does not guarantee it. Katayama Kunio considers the role of commerce, rather than imperialism, to be the intrinsic link to shipping expansion, and uses the expansion of Japanese shipping before the 1894-1895 Sino-Japanese war as the core case study. Kunio studies the contextual background to Japan’s international shipping interests, including the history of the Nippon Yusen Kaisha company, the ambitions of Japanese Shipowners, the debates in Japanese parliament, and Japanese public opinion, to determine the motives that led Japan to enter into international shipping and trade.

Morris A. Copeland's work and career as an institutional economist has been the subject of only one significant paper (Millar 1980) and is not well known today, even among institutionalists. The standard histories of institutional economics have tended to focus on a few leading figures, notably Thorstein Veblen, Wesley C. Mitchell, John R. Commons, and Clarence Ayres, and have largely ignored the many others (some of whom had outstanding careers) associated with the movement. This narrow focus has given a misleading impression both of the institutionalist movement itself and also of the nature of the institutionalist contribution to economics. The examination of Copeland's career, treated as a case study in the history of institutional economics, can help correct this problem. Copeland is a perfect candidate for such a case study due to his central place within the interwar institutionalist movement, his teachers, the contacts he maintained, his work in both academic economics and in public service, and his professional standing within economics more generally.

The Generator Recovery Project Case Study is a technical paper that will discuss a project which started with a simple open, clean, and close of a 40MW air cooled generator and turned out to be much more. The unit experienced a gradual increase in winding temperatures over the last several years, with a more notable increase in phase B temperatures. In the history of the unit, it was observed that the unit became contaminated with carbonaceous deposits due to the environment in which it operated. Routine cleanings during scheduled outages were successful in lowering the increased temperature trends. With today’s market environment and an increasing commonality of extending outage intervals, the routine outage interval had been extended to 7 years from the previous outage. The scope of work was to remove the rotor, clean, inspect, test and return the unit to service in just over one week’s time. The requirements of the project were that the efforts be maximized so that the unit returned to service in the most economical means while adhering to practices that would maximize the unit’s availability and reliability. With findings of significant contamination of carbonaceous deposits and significant foreign object damage (FOD), the project lead to overwhelming questions and concerns. The case study will discuss the immediate concerns of the unknown, such as if the core was even recoverable and what was the source of FOD. The case study will walk through the questions raised and the actions taken to first assess the condition of the unit and what actions to be taken to recover the core damage, if at all possible. Most importantly, determining the source of FOD and the rectifications to eliminate future sources of FOD from this area. Detailed information on repair assessments and validation will be presented and procedures for repair and recovery will be discussed. Final testing and validation to return to service will be discussed and the operational characteristics after the repair will be revealed.

The peripheral role of divination in religious studies reflects centuries of misrepresentation and depreciation in the textual record. This long history dates back to the travel literature of early modern times, particularly in West Africa, where two stereotypical themes took form: divination as mumbo jumbo, and the diviners as charlatans who shamelessly deceive their credulous clients. These two stereotypical themes persisted through the anthropological discourse about African divination until the 1970s. To undo this long history of misrepresentation and depreciation, a change of analytical focus from reified differences to similar engagement with broad ideas and big questions is in order. By considering a particular case study—basket divination in northwest Zambia—through the theoretical lens of worldviews and ways of life, it becomes possible to take divination seriously and grant it a more central place in religious studies. Four broad, inclusive ideas or big questions emerge from the ethnography of basket divination in northwest Zambia: ontology, epistemology, praxeology, and the place of suffering in human existence.

Abstract. This article presents a Therapeutic Assessment (TA; Finn, 2007 ) case study of a teenage girl assessed because of a complex set of symptoms: history of suicidal statements, sensory sensitivity, questions about gender identity, depression, anxiety/OCD, and possible subclinical psychotic symptoms. Logan’s parents, Joe and Susan, participated in the assessment, with Susan attending every appointment and Joe attending only the first and last. Ten instruments were administered, with each providing information about different aspects of Logan. The Thurston Cradock Test of Shame (TCTS; Thurston & Cradock O’Leary, 2009 ) scores and analysis encompassed all of the other test findings, clarified details not fully explained by tests such as the Rorschach and MMPI-A, and brought the core adolescent and family issue of shame to the foreground. When the assessors explained shame to Logan’s mother, she was better able to understand her daughter’s shame and connect with her own feelings of shame. When Logan’s father arrived for the final feedback session, he was quite tense, argumentative, and threatened to cancel the appointment. The TCTS allowed the assessors to understand Joe’s aggressive behavior as signs of TCTS defenses of deflation, aggression, and inflation/contempt, appreciate his underlying feelings of shame, and to delicately restore the “interpersonal bridge” ( Kaufman, 1996 ), which is key to reducing shame. As a result, Joe’s defensiveness decreased, and he was open to continuing the feedback session. In the end, Joe was able to identify with his daughter in a new way and even admit his own sense of shame in the session. This provided an opportunity for healing in the whole family.
