Aims: Whilst adoption of supply chain management (SCM) practices has grown in recent decades, research into supply chain management practices of firms in the petroleum downstream remains very limited. This study examines the effect of SCM practices on operational performance for firms in the petroleum downstream. Study Design: Survey. Place and Duration of Study: The study was conducted in Ghana from January 2019 to February 2020. Methodology: The study developed and tested a research model which proposed that Strategic Supplier Partnership, Customer Relationship, Supply Chain Information Management and Postponement significantly influenced Operational Performance of firms in the petroleum downstream. Data for the study was obtained from a survey of 150 firms operating in Ghana’s petroleum downstream. Results: The findings of the study revealed that Strategic Supplier Partnership and Supply Chain Information Management had positive and significant impacts on Operational Performance, but Customer Relationship and Postponement did not. Conclusion: Firms operating in the petroleum downstream should focus more on developing and managing strategic partnerships with their suppliers and managing their supply chain information.

The objective of this study is to analyze and review the influence of government regulations and information technology on the operational performance of local television stations in East Java with service supply chain management practices as the mediator variable and capital owner’s intervention as the moderator variable. The data of exploratory research was collected through questionnaires distributed to twenty-nine local televisions stations, selected through saturated sampling method from a population of local television stations in East Java, and was analyzed using structural equation modeling. The finding of this study reveals that government regulations and information technology significantly influence the operational performance of local television stations with service supply chain management (SCM) practices as the mediator variable, which means that better government regulations and better information technology are analogous with the importance for the improvement of local television stations operational performance. Capital owner intervention weakens service SCM practices on operating performance and has a direct and immediate effect on reducing the operational performance of local television stations. The practical implications of this study signify the understanding that service SCM practices is an important concept in enhancing the operational performance. Capital owner’s intervention weakens service SCM practices on operating performance of local television stations.

In manufacturing company, quality of product could become their competitive advantage to compete in the market. To achieve good quality of products and activities, company need to have system or strategy to manage their supply chain activity and make it more effective and efficient flow of production and improve the quality of information sharing, production time, and products, so the company can improve their performance. This study conducted to find out the mediating effect of supply chain quality integration on supply chain management practices to achieve performance. Researcher was using PLS Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) to analyze data. The sample of this research was consumer goods manufacturing in Indonesia and using primary data with questionnaire as data collection method. After analysis using PLS-SEM, researcher was found that supply chain management practices affect operational performance; and supply chain quality integration has mediating effect on the effect of supply chain management practices on operational performance of company.

It consists of nine hypotheses concerning the relationships of the aforementioned factors that have been verified throughout reviewed literature and examined via employing the structural equation modelling technique. This research used data taken from floated questionnaires at three manufacturing companies in the Kingdom of Bahrain. An inclusive review of the literature to retrieve the four most common supply chain management practices has been undertaken and has identified limitations in the research techniques applied. This research has discovered the significant influences of the supplier partnership, the information sharing, and the lean system of the three most common supply chain management practices and the net trade cycle on the financial performance. Although this is the first research that combines the critical relationships among those four most common supply chain management practices, the net trade cycle, and the financial performance in one model, it is important to note that this study was unsuccessful in demonstrating whether there is a significant influence between customer relationship of the most common supply chain management practices and the net trade cycle on the financial performance. Researchers can employ the outcomes of this research to discover several related hypotheses in more details and increase the accuracy of forthcoming empirical relationships among those factors. This research offers particular suggestions for such further research. The outcomes of this research can be utilized by managers to highlight the execution of those four most common supply chain management practices and the net trade cycle in their respective ventures. Moreover, almost all of those relationships are found to have significant influences on the financial performance. Furthermore, the outcomes can be recommended to production managers who may well assign resources to enhance these practices to achieve the greatest outcomes.

The purpose of this study is to understand supply chain management practices, Lean & Green management, and the integration of Lean & Green Supply Chain Management in PG. Krebet Baru - PG. Rajawali I in improving operational performance in supplier and manufacturing chains. The method used is case study qualitative research through interviews, observation, documentation, document review & corporate websites that produce data analysis. The results of this research data analysis produced the first proposition related to supply chain management practices, namely coordination in the flow of material, information, and finance that is being increased by PG Krebet efforts in maintaining better cooperative relations with farmer groups as suppliers. The second proposition relates to lean management practices, namely the efficiency of human resources and natural resources, reduction of lead time, and reduction of inventory is an activity that can increase added value to the company. The third proposition is related to green management practices, namely environmentally-friendly innovation in the operating system is a strategy to improve the application of environmental management. The synergy between the practice of lean and green supply chain in improving operational performance also results in a fourth proposition, namely the commitment of suppliers (farmer groups) to PG. Krebet will improve company efficiency and environmental performance which may improve product quality and flexibility and reduce costs. Suggestions for further research, which in this case study, can be continued in the entire supply chain from suppliers to consumers to better understand lean and green management practices in all sugar industry supply chain members.

This research develops and tests the consistencies of the relation between supply chain management practices, e-business technologies and operational performance. The data for this research is obtained from 67 companies. The relations proposed in the framework of this research are tested using partial least square analysis. The findings of this research shows the impact of supply chain management practices and e-business technologies have an effect on improvement of operational performance. The analysis also found the existence of interaction effect between SCM practices and e-business technologies, both on operational performance.

This study sought to determine the effects of supply chain management practices on customer satisfaction and retention in major retails food companies located in Southern Region of Saudi Arabia. Data collection was done by survey using questionnaire. The number of samples is 208 employees, with the method of convenient sampling. The method of analysis in this study is the multiple linear regression analysis, with SSPS testing reliability and normality, correlation, hypothesis testing, simultaneous effect and the coefficient of determination.  The results find a statistically significant and positive relationship between strategic supplier partnership (SSP), customer relationship (CR), Level of information sharing (LIS), level of information quality (LIQ) postponement practice (PP) and customer satisfaction (CS). However, the relationship between Customer Relationship (CR) and customer satisfaction (CS) is considered statistically non-significant and negative. Furthermore, customer satisfaction (CS) is a good predictors of customer retention (CRe).  This finding can be used implementatively for management to improve the elements supporting the strengthening of supply chain management practices and increasing customer satisfaction and retention in the retail food companies. Nonetheless, the findings of the study help companies to improve the quality of their services, products, and treat customers as their first priority in order to be retained them. Therefore, theses guide customers to recommend the firms to others. The results identify the influence of supply chain management practices on the customer satisfaction and retention according to the food retail sector in Saudi Arabia.

Purpose While the three interconnected aspects of the triple bottom line -environmental, social and economic sustainability- are well-established, these aspects have insufficiently been addressed together in the supply chain management literature. Thus, the purpose of this paper is to examine whether environmental and social performance mediates the relationship between environmental management practices and operational performance and whether operational performance mediates the relationship between environmental and social performance and financial performance. Design/methodology/approach Drawing on a data set of 208 firms operating in a wide range of manufacturing industries, the authors test the hypotheses using structural equation modeling. The research context for the study is Turkey, an important emerging market and one of the nexuses of European and Asian supply chains. Findings The findings indicate that all three aspects of sustainability have mutually supportive relationships as demonstrated by positive mediating mechanisms between environmental management practices and operational performance and between environmental and social performance and financial performance. The mediation results correspond with the resource-based view. They indicate that building up capabilities and resources in the form of environmental management practices supports three areas of the triple bottom line and boosts firms’ financial performance. Originality/value Research on sustainability is well-established, yet supply chain management research has, thus, far paid insufficient attention to all three aspects. This paper, thus, sets itself apart by explicitly considering all three aspects of sustainability and contributes to understanding how they relate to one another.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to provide an empirical evidence about the relationship between practices of supply chain management (SCM) and operational performance (OP). Design/methodology/approach Based on a comprehensive literature review, a set of SCM practices has been identified and selected to develop a conceptual model as well as to establish their relationship to companies’ OP. The measurement scales of the practices were developed in four steps: identification and development of initial instrument; personal interviews and Q-sort; large-scale data collection; and large-scale analysis in order to ensure unidimensionality, reliability and validity. Structural equation modeling was used to validate the model with the data were collected in Vietnamese garment enterprises. Findings The study consolidated relationships between the SCM practices and OP. According to the research results, these practices have a “resonant” influence on OP that can explain 52.6 percent variance of this output concept. In particular, customer focus and supplier management both direct and indirect impact on OP while top management support and process control/improvement only have indirect and direct influences on OP, respectively. Research limitations/implications There are some limitations that can guide academics to new lines of future research: to extend the scope of the survey to include different countries and new situations, so results can be generalized; to consider the impacts of the SCM practices on the entire supply chain performance; and to explore additional factors that can further explain OP, such as operational environment, capital, technology, human resource, etc. Practical implications The authors suggest that the SCM practices should be implemented as an integrated system rather than independent practices, in which they interact with each other and improve OP. Originality/value The empirical results of this study provide an evidence to consider the SCM practices as reliable predictors for OP. According to the research, these practices interact with each other and have both direct and indirect effects on OP. In other words, through the mutual interaction among the SCM practices, they have the “resonant” influence on improving OP. Moreover, the proposed research model analyzing the relationship among SCM practices and OP and its validation using the Vietnam garment industry provided valuable insights both from theoretical and practical perspectives.
