Abstract Indoor positioning has become a research hotspot because of its important application value in industrial production and daily life. Traditional wireless positioning technologies such as Wi Fi and Bluetooth are difficult to achieve high-precision indoor positioning due to electromagnetic interference and multipath effect. The modulated white LED can not only meet the needs of lighting, but also transmit the location information to achieve high-precision indoor positioning. This paper first introduces several modulation methods commonly used in visible light positioning system, compares the characteristics of different modulation methods, and proposes a modulation method suitable for visible light positioning; Then, two demodulation methods of the visible light positioning system are introduced and discussed; After that, several visible light location algorithms are introduced, and the performance of each algorithm is analyzed in detail; Finally, the problems in visible light positioning are discussed and prospected.

The methods of generating stationary random signals, both Gaussian and non-Gaussian, are quite complete, but the researches on the non-stationary signals are insufficient. Especially, the current methods seldom provide mathematical bases about the kurtoses of the produced signals such that the generations of non-stationary non-Gaussian signals with the desired kurtoses are inefficient, which also decrease the flexibility of the real-time control in shaker table tests. In the article, the amplitude modulation method is employed to realize the signal synthesis. The carrier waves of the method are investigated considering the bursts overlapping situations. At first, the explicit equations between the kurtoses of the synthesized signals and the three crucial parameters (the offset, the distance between a pair of adjacent bursts and the parameter of the Beta-distributed random variables) are deduced for the carrier waves with both overlapped bursts and non-overlapped busts. Meanwhile, to solve the power spectral density variation led by the amplitude modulation method, an explicit expression of a rescaling parameter is also proposed. Furthermore, the impacts of the three parameters are investigated; the focus of the investigation is on how the kurtoses of the synthesized signals are changed by the parameters. Based on the results of the investigation, a test procedure is put forward to apply the proposed equations in a shaker table test. The control process of the test demonstrates that the real-time kurtoses control can be achieved efficiently with the help of the newly proposed equations.

Common-mode voltage can be reduced effectively by optimized modulation methods without increasing additional costs. However, the existing methods cannot satisfy the requirements of the vehicular electric-drive application. This paper optimizes the tri-state voltage modulation method to reduce the common-mode voltage for vehicular electric drive system applications. Firstly, the discontinuous switching issue during sector transition is analyzed. Under the limit of two switching times in one period, multiple alignments combination is proposed to address that issue. Secondly, the zero-voltage time intervals in different modulation ranges are explored. This paper proposes an unsymmetric translation method to reconstruct the voltage vector, and then the minimum zero-voltage time interval is controlled to enough value for safe switching. Finally, the proposed methods have been validated through experiments on a vehicular electric drive system. The results show that the common-mode voltage can be reduced effectively in the whole range with the optimized tri-state voltage modulation method.

When a parallel robot is equipped with kinematic redundancy, it has sufficient capabilities of natural frequency modulation through adjusting geometric configuration. To reduce resonance of a mechanism, this paper investigates the natural frequency modulation of a kinematically redundant planar parallel robot. A double-threshold searching method is proposed for controlling the inverse kinematics solution and keeping the natural frequencies away from the excitation frequency. The effectiveness of modulating the natural frequencies is demonstrated by comparing it with a non-modulation method. The simulation results indicate that, in all directions, the responses are coupled, and every order should be taken into consideration during natural frequency modulation. Compared to the non-modulation method, the proposed method can reduce the resonance amplitude to a certain extent, and the effect of vibration suppression is remarkable.

With the increasing power level of wind power generation system, the traditional topology of power converters can no longer meets the demand of high-power wind power generation systems due to the limitation of device performance. The line voltage cascade type multiple PWM converter (LVC-VSC) is a kind of converter that uses the traditional two-level and six-switch voltage source converter as the basic component unit, and each unit is combined with the line voltage cascade method. This type of converter is suitable for medium-voltage and high-power applications such as wind power generation and metallurgical drives because of its easy modularization, strong scalability and low number of isolated power supplies required. However, for medium-voltage and high-power applications, the switching frequency of power devices in the converter is low, usually limited to a few hundred hertz. The traditional modulation method of line voltage cascade converter has a large number of redundant states, and simply reducing the carrier ratio will cause serious degradation of control performance and system instability. To address this problem, this paper proposes a modulation strategy and a corresponding control method for low switching frequency. The modulation strategy is based on the vector relationship of finite switching states, and the optimal switching sequence is selected according to the modulation system by removing redundant states, thus ensuring the application of different modulation sequences under different modulation depths and ensuring the current quality on the basis of the minimum switching frequency, which effectively solves the control problems at low switching frequency. The experimental results show the correctness and effectiveness of the proposed modulation strategy and control method.

Abstract The article substantiates the need to study the structure of the nuclear magnetic resonance signal recorded using the modulation technique. For the stationary and current state, the characteristic features of recording a nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) signal using the modulation method were determined. The influence of the properties of the medium on the features of recording the NMR signal has been determined. A new method is proposed for determining the contributions of absorption and dispersion signals to the recorded NMR signal. The features of the use of spectral analysis in the study of the NMR signal from hydrocarbon media have been determined.

Abstract Abstract. The growing demand for communications and the emergence of new applications have put the capacity, transmission rate and latency of communications systems to a more severe test. In this context, 5G communication technology has emerged. 5G applications are divided into three typical application scenarios: eMBB, URLLC and mMTC. In order to support these applications, the key technologies of 5G need to be studied in depth. This paper firstly investigates the networking architecture of 5G bearer networks, and carries out a detailed analysis and comparison of 5G fronthaul technology, including the optical fibre direct connection solution, passive WDM solution, active WDM/OTN solution and WDM-PON solution. Secondly, this paper introduces 5G millimetre wave technology to achieve large capacity and high spectral efficiency transmission, including direct intensity modulation method, external modulation method, optical heterodyne method, optical injection locking method and optical phase-locked loop method. Finally, this paper provides an outlook on 5G fronthaul technology and millimetre wave technology.

For joining metallic materials for battery applications such as copper and stainless steel, laser beam micro welding with beam sources in the near-infrared range has become established in recent years. In laser beam micro welding, spatial power modulation describes the superposition of the linear feed motion with an oscillating motion. This modulation method serves to widen the cross-section of the weld seam as well as to increase the process stability. Temporal power modulation refers to the controlled modulation of the laser power over time during the welding process. In this paper, the superposition of both temporal and spatial power modulation methods is presented, which enables a variable control of the weld penetration depth. Three weld geometries transverse to the feed direction are part of this investigation: the compensation of the weld penetration depth due to the asymmetric path movement during spatial power modulation only, a W-shaped weld profile, and a V-shaped. The weld geometries are investigated by the bed on plate weld tests with CuSn6. Furthermore, the use of combined power modulation for welding tests in butt joint configuration between CuSn6 and stainless steel 1.4301 with different material properties is investigated. The study shows the possibility of precise control of the welding depth by this methodology. Depending on the material combination, the desired regions with maximum and minimum welding depth can be achieved by the control of local and temporal power modulation on the material surface.
