El turismo es un sector eminentemente visual, lo que favorece que los destinos trabajen en la generación de representaciones seductoras con las que atraer a los potenciales visitantes. En este trabajo se analiza el modo en que el patrimonio ha sido incorporado a la construcción de la imagen inducida andaluza en las últimas décadas, desarrollándose un análisis semiótico de las representaciones proyectadas en el material promocional. A través del mismo se constata la idea de que dicha imagen es herencia de la identidad universal de la región construida durante el Romanticismo, en la que imperan los elementos propios de su pasado árabe, determinándose que territorios que cuentan con una imagen universal consolidada, en la que el patrimonio ejerce un papel fundamental, se valen de ésta para la formación de su imagen inducida por su fácil reconocimiento internacional. Tourism is an eminently visual sector, which encourages destinations to work on generating seductive representations to attract potential visitors. This paper analyses how heritage has been incorporated into the construction of the Andalusian induced image in recent decades, developing a semiotic analysis of the representations projected in the promotional material. Through this, it emerges that this image is the inheritance of the universal identity of the region built during Romanticism, in which the elements of its Arab past prevail. Finally, the study provides that territories that have a consolidated universal image, in which heritage plays a fundamental role, they use it to form their induced image due to its easy international recognition.

<div><br></div><div>This thesis examines the neuro-cultural implications of: (1) language capture and commodification; and (2) neurological entrainment, two processes that I contend have coextensively emerged with the development of smartphones in a way that is profitable for major smartphone manufacturers and privileged third parties. The phrase “neurological entrainment” in this context refers specifically to the smartphone’s ability to exert affective behavioural control over smartphone users by altering their neurochemical states. I aim to situate this established neurological phenomenon alongside a less scrutinized transformation: that of the smartphone into a site of language-capture. By “language capture” I refer to the intake, collection and brokering of smartphone users’ natural language data and metadata. The goal of this thesis is to contextualize the interfusing of these entrainment and capture processes that cunningly form lucrative linguistic relationships between smartphone users and their devices. This study, through a comparative content analysis of data policies, privacy protocols, and privacy related promotional material pertaining to two major smartphone manufacturers (e.g., Apple and Samsung), substantiates the claim that the foundational documents of each device openly permit this productive union, with its doubled effect of neurological pacification and linguistic divestment. divestment. It also situates these findings within the grander lingo-entrainment systems that influence the future of our living language, and that coincide with Deleuzian premonitions about societies of control.<br></div>

<p>The airport is a site that blurs spatial boundaries. While primarily functioning to move aircraft and passengers between land and air, the airport is simultaneously a complex social institution that mediates the relationship between the local and global, the public and private, and national and international space. This thesis discusses the changing nature of Auckland International Airport and Wellington International Airport as spaces that are produced through a number of historical, economic and political contexts. Using spatial, cultural and critical theory along with concepts from human geography and mobilities research, this study examines each airport as a dynamic, ongoing process of spatial relations. Central to this analysis is the understanding that space, subjectivity and technologies of power produce and reproduce each other on different scales. Drawing upon news stories, promotional material, institutional representations and popular representations of Auckland and Wellington airports, the following thesis will explore the ways in which their spaces have been imagined, produced and used over time.</p>

This essay examines the formal and informal distribution of Australian dramedy Please Like Me via the now-defunct American digital cable channel Pivot and via fan communities on Tumblr. I argue that structural whiteness operates as an invisible engine at the heart of Please Like Me’s distribution. My analysis unpacks how an unexamined narrative of white privilege forms the backbone of Please Like Me’s diegesis, fandom’s investment in circulating the show, and Pivot’s alignment of the show with its supposedly socially conscious brand. Examining trade press, promotional material, and fan discourse, I demonstrate how structural whiteness functions as point of intersection between industry and fan-driven distribution.

The research work overtly presents the Marketing plan, strategies being used by university libraries of Dr. Zakir Husain Library of Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi and Central Library, Central University of Haryana. A well structured questionnaire was administered to the librarian of selected libraries and after regular persuasion the duly filled in questionnaire was received. The analysis shows that both libraries are providing a number of services free of cost. Out of 26 services asked by librarians, Dr. Zakir Husain Library, JMI provides 23 services while  Central University of Haryana gives only 16 services. This shows that Dr. Zakir Husain Library, JMI is better in terms of providing library services than Central Library, Central University of Haryana. The paper analyses the opinion regarding marketing concepts and Staff Attitude towards Marketing and its use in library. The study found that there is Lack of understanding about marketing among top management, Reluctance of users to pay for services, Lack of availability of promotional material, Lack of professional manpower and Lack of ICT infrastructure  are major barriers in  marketing library products and services.

The paper presents the translation concept of the Library Albatross (1921), the most significant project of today’s canonical Serbian modernists and avant-garde writers. This concept is paradigmatic within the modernist creative tendencies and programs between the two world wars. Although Library published only the translation of Poe’s Tales of Mystery and Imagination, the list of announced translations, the paratexts that accompany the Library’s promotional material, and the translation published, allow us to discuss specific translation strategies of Albatross. Albatross translation practice is a template for more comprehensive thinking about poetic innovations of Serbian literature after First World War. Moreover, the Albatross translation platform allows us to consider the concepts of modern/modernism, periphery/center, and world literature in Serbian culture during the twenties.

AbstractSome health research studies recruit participants through electronic mechanisms such as the placement of messages on social media platforms. This raises questions for ethics committee oversight, since effective social media campaigns might involve the production and dissemination of hundreds of contemporaneous messages. For the Narrative Experiences Online (NEON) study, we have developed nine principles to control the production and dissemination of promotional material. These have been approved by an ethics committee and enable the audit of our recruitment work. We propose that the drafting for approval of recruitment principles by health research studies may, in many cases, strike an appropriate balance between enabling ethical oversight of online recruitment work and the potential burden of message review.
