The purpose of this study was to evaluate the difficulties faced by LH students of dental faculty and the effect of their training program on the musculo-skeletal system. A survey of 11 questions was used to get the necessary data for further analysis. The results of the study showed that the percentage of LH students in the faculty is 7.32 percent (40 of 546). The prevalence of left-handedness of males (9.59%) is higher than that of females (6.03%). The majority of LH students (85%) confirmed that their sinistrality is of no significance in their life organization. LH students neglect that their sinistrality has a significant effect on their dental practice, this is due to their limited experience in practice. The majority of the LH students (85%) prefer using special dental units designed to fit their needs. 35% of the students approved that they started experiencing symptoms of MSDs during their practical phase of studies. The results of this study suggest that LH dental students require special educational atmosphere which would yield in a more professional undergraduates with high efficiency in the work field.

In patients with congenital ovarian insufficiency, particularly with gonadal dysgenesis, the retarded bone remodelingprevents the bone tissue from achieving its final, peak density and leads to the lagging of skeletal system maturation. This may result in high risk of limb and backbone fractures.The article analyzes the results of the examination of 142 patients with different forms of gonadal dysgenesis. The treatment included the preparations containing estrogens, which were identical with natural ones (Divina, Divitren, Divigel). The data received substantiate the necessity of eliminating the estrogenic deficit in patients with gonadal dysgenesis earlier than it is usually done.

Nowadays, Kingella kingae (K. kingae) is considered as the main bacterial cause of osteoarticular infections (OAI) in children aged less than 48 months. Next to classical acute hematogenous osteomyelitis and septic arthritis, invasive K. kingae infections can also give rise to atypical osteoarticular infections, such as cellulitis, pyomyositis, bursitis, or tendon sheath infections. Clinically, K. kingae OAI are usually characterized by a mild clinical presentation and by a modest biologic inflammatory response to infection. Most of the time, children with skeletal system infections due to K. kingae would not require invasive surgical procedures, except maybe for excluding pyogenic germs’ implication. In addition, K. kingae’s OAI respond well even to short antibiotics treatments, and, therefore, the management of these infections requires only short hospitalization, and most of the patients can then be treated safely as outpatients.

<p class="abstract">Bones form a vital part of the skeletal system providing mechanical support, strength, structure and protection to the human body. Inability of the bone to resist any kind of stress caused accidently can result in a bone injury or a fracture. This article provides a summary of eleven cases of bone injury and fracture treated successfully by yoga prana vidya (YPV) techniques as a complementary medicine for faster recovery. The study was carried out by two healers who independently healed eleven cases of bone injury and fracture using the bone regeneration techniques of YPV. Further, the data was collected and the results were analysed. By application of YPV healing techniques complementarily, it is observed that full recovery took place within 10 days to 45 days for the 3 hospitalised cases, and within 3 to 8 days for the two patients who had bandage/dressing done at a medical facility. In case of the remaining 6 patients who sought YPV healing help in preference to seeking medical help the recovery took place within 5 to 20 days. helping the patients to lead a normal life thereafter. It is observed that YPV techniques can be used for faster recovery of patients with injured and fractured bones. This paper shows the successful results when the techniques were applied on eleven participants. It is recommended to conduct further studies on a larger scale for the healing of bone related cases such as injury and fractures.</p>

The bones and joints in the skeletal system are composed of diverse cell types, including vascular niches, bone cells, connective tissue cells and mineral deposits and regulate whole-body homeostasis. The capacity of maintaining strength and generation of blood lineages lies within the skeletal system. Bone harbours blood and immune cells and their progenitors, and vascular cells provide several immune cell type niches. Blood vessels in bone are phenotypically and functionally diverse, with distinct capillary subtypes exhibiting striking changes with age. The bone vasculature has a special impact on osteogenesis and haematopoiesis, and dysregulation of the vasculature is associated with diverse blood and bone diseases. Ageing is associated with perturbed haematopoiesis, loss of osteogenesis, increased adipogenesis and diminished immune response and immune cell production. Endothelial and perivascular cells impact immune cell production and play a crucial role during inflammation. Here, we discuss normal and maladapted vascular niches in bone during development, homeostasis, ageing and bone diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. Further, we discuss the role of vascular niches during bone malignancy.

The review article provides data from modern studies confirming the multifaceted effect of vitamin D in the human body. Vitamin D3 receptors (VDRs) have been shown to be present in most organs and tissues of the body. This confirms the importance of vitamin D not only in the formation of the skeletal system, but also in many of its extraosseous effects. Calcitriol affects the modulation of cell growth, neuromuscular conduction, inflammation processes, and is also an important stimulator of innate immunity due to the synthesis of antimicrobial peptides that provide protection against bacteria and viruses. In recent years, the relationship between the concentration of vitamin D in the blood and the incidence of respiratory infections in children has been actively studied. Many studies have shown that low vitamin D status is characteristic of most children with respiratory infections, and an adequate level of 25(OH)D in serum has a positive effect on the frequency of these infections and the severity of their course. Most authors demonstrate the benefits of vitamin D supplementation in the prevention of respiratory diseases in children, but there is no consensus regarding the frequency and dosage of vitamin D. Growth of long bones and vertebrae is maintained postnatally by a long-lasting pool of progenitor cells. Little is known about the molecular mechanisms that regulate the output and maintenance of the cells that give rise to mature cartilage. Here we demonstrate that postnatal chondrocyte-specific deletion of a transcription factor Stat3 results in severely reduced proliferation coupled with increased hypertrophy, growth plate fusion, stunting and signs of progressive dysfunction of the articular cartilage. This effect is dimorphic, with females more strongly affected than males. Chondrocyte-specific deletion of the IL-6 family cytokine receptor gp130, which activates Stat3, phenocopied Stat3-deletion; deletion of Lifr, one of many co-receptors that signals through gp130, resulted in a milder phenotype. These data define a new molecular circuit that regulates chondrogenic cell maintenance and output and reveals a novel, hitherto unrecognized function of IL-6 cytokines in the skeletal system with direct implications for skeletal development and regeneration.
