In this work the possibility of increasing the amplitude of ultra-short pulses and formation of a monocycle Gaussian by adding signals from several oscillators was investigated. For this purpose, the ring adders of Wilkinson design were used. The design of which has been chosen due to low losses and high input decoupling. The S-parameters of the adders with different geometrical parameters have been simulated in the frequency band up to 5 GHz. The obtained results coincided with the experimentally measured characteristics. The monopulse amplitude was increased and a bipolar pulse shape was formed by adding ultrashort pulses of equal and different polarities using the adders. This approach allows you to adjust the parameters of the output signal by adjusting the delays of the triggering signals.

This paper evaluates the uncertainty of S-parameter measurements on multilayer printed circuit boards (PCBs) due to the uncertainties of the dimensions and dielectric properties of the line standard in the Thru-Reflect-Line (TRL) calibration. This evaluation is performed in two ways: one is based on repeated TRL calibrations with a randomly perturbed line standard, and the other is based on equations given by Stumper. The two methods require the uncertainties of the S-parameters of the TRL line standard, which are obtained from the uncertainties of the dimensions and dielectric properties using three-dimensional electromagnetic Monte Carlo simulation. The two methods agree well with each other. This study also shows how to apply impedance renormalization in Stumper’s equations. We design the TRL standards and the devices under test (DUTs) in PCB stripline and precisely measure the cross-sectional dimensions of the fabricated striplines. Uncertainty analysis based on the measured values enables us to investigate the impact of realistic deviations in the dimensions of the TRL line standard on the S-parameter measurement uncertainty of the DUTs. Finally, as an example, we evaluated the uncertainty in the measured S-parameters of a Beatty line on the fabricated PCB.

A modified Nicholson – Ross – Weir method was used to determine complex parameters and dielectric permittivity of ceramic materials in the range 78.33–118.1 GHz. The measuring equipment is a meter of complex reflection and transmission coefficients, a waveguide measuring canal with a special measuring cell, consisting of two irregular waveguides and a waveguide chamber between them, which provides insignificant influence of higher-order modes. The dependences of the amplitude and phase of the reflection and transmission coefficients on frequency were obtained experimentally for fluoroplastic and three ceramic samples in the frequency range 78.33–118.1 GHz. The obtained S-parameters are processed according to an algorithm that includes their averaging based on the Fourier transform in order to obtain the values of the dielectric permittivity. Fluoroplastic was used as a reference material with a known dielectric constant. The dielectric constant of fluoroplastic has a stable value of 2.1 in the above mentioned frequency range. The dielectric constant of sample No. 1 varies from 3.6 to 2.5 at the boundaries of the range, sample No. 2 – from 3.7 to 2.1, sample No. 3 – from 2.9 to 1.5. The experimental data are in satisfactory agreement with the literature data for other frequencies taking into account the limits set by the measurement uncertainty.

Abstract The article discusses a planar patch antenna with a metamaterial integrated into the structure, which allows the antenna to function in the upper Wi-Fi 5, 6 frequency range and the Wi-Fi 6E range. For the study, we built graphs of S-parameters, radiation patterns; on the basis of the resulting structure, we formed a MIMO antenna array for which we determined the main characteristics - the envelope correlation coefficient and the multiplexing efficiency

The present work implements the Nicolson-Ross-Weir (NRW) method to find the permittivity and permeability through an algorithm in Matlab® of a magneto - dielectric composed material made of polyester resin and magnetite powders randomly dispersed and oriented vertically and horizontally in the polymeric matrix. The measured data come from the simulation of the S parameters in ADS® between 150 kHz and 4GHz, on a microstrip type transmission line. The algorithm allowed to verify that the best response in high frequency of the magneto - dielectric composed where the vertically orientedparticles, present the highest relative permittivity obtaining Er= 5.5 for 30% wt concentration and Er= 4.5 concentration of 20% wt, with an absorption coefficient which increases in function of frequency and the concentration of magnetite in the functional filler.
