For a conventional narrowband radar system, its insufficient bandwidth usually leads to the lack of detectable information of the target, and it is difficult for the radar to classify the target types, such as rotor helicopter, propeller aircraft, and jet aircraft. To address the classification problem of three different types of aircraft target, a joint multifeature classification method based on the micro-Doppler effect in the echo caused by the target micromotion is proposed in this paper. Through the characteristics analysis of the target simulation echoes obtained from the target scattering point model, four features with obvious distinguishability are extracted from the time domain and frequency domain, respectively, that is, flicker interval, fractal dimension, modulation bandwidth, and second central moment. Then, a support vector machine model will be applied to the classification of the three different types of aircraft. Compared with the conventional method, the proposed method has better classification performance and can significantly improve the classification probability of aircraft target. The simulations are carried out to validate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Aim of the work: to conduct a comparative analysis of methods of ultrasound examination of the right heart with audio and visual indication of intravascular decompression gas formation in divers after diving.Materials and methods. An examination of the right heart in divers after 152 man-descents was carried out. Intravascular decompression gas production was assessed by ultrasound using sound location based on the Doppler effect and transthoracic two-dimensional echocardiography. Results and discussion. Both methods make it possible to determine intravascular decompression gas formation after a diving descent, correlate with the clinical picture of acute decompression sickness and should be used in the medical support of diving descents. At the same time, the method of ultrasound examination based on transthoracic two-dimensional echocardiography turned out to be more sensitive in determining gas bubbles in the right heart as compared to auditory location with the Doppler effect.

The relative velocity between objects with finite velocity affects the reaction between them. This effect is known as general Doppler effect. The Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory (LIGO) discovered gravitational waves and found their speed to be equal to the speed of light c. Gravitational waves are generated following a disturbance in the gravitational field; they affect the gravitational force on an object. Just as light waves are subject to the Doppler effect, so are gravitational waves. This article explores the following research questions concerning gravitational waves: What is the spatial distribution of gravitational waves? Can the speed of a gravitational wave represent the speed of the gravitational field (the speed of the action of the gravitational field upon the object)? What is the speed of the gravitational field? Do gravitational waves caused by the revolution of the Sun affect planetary precession? Can we modify Newton’s gravitational equation through the influence of gravitational waves?

A vector beam with the spatial variation polarization has attracted keen interest and is progressively applied in quantum information, quantum communication, precision measurement, and so on. In this letter, the spectrum observation of the rotational Doppler effect based on the coherent interaction between atoms and structured light in an atomic vapor is realized. The geometric phase and polarization of the structured beam are generated and manipulated by using a flexible and efficacious combination optical elements, converting an initial linearly polarized Gaussian beam into a phase vortex beam or an asymmetric or symmetric vector beam. These three representative types of structured beam independently interact with atoms under a longitudinal magnetic field to explore the rotational Doppler shift associated with the topological charge. We find that the rotational Doppler broadening increases obviously with the topological charge of the asymmetric and symmetric vector beam. There is no rotational Doppler broadening observed from the spectrum of the phase vortex beam, although the topological charge, and spatial profile of the beam change. This study can be applied to estimate the rotational velocity of the atom-level or molecule-level objects, measure the intensity of magnetic fields and study the quantum coherence in atomic ensembles.

Abstract Modeling of broadband and narrowband signal mark detection is widely used for sonar and radar systems. In this work, the problem is considered in relation to hydroacoustics. The paper describes the formation of a stream of correctly detected and false signal marks and calculation of estimates of their parameters, taking into account the antenna characteristics as well as the processing parameters of the system being simulated. Also considered are the realistic distribution of false signal marks by heading angles and the influence of the Doppler effect on the estimation of the mark parameters. The resulting model can be used in simulation systems, in the formation of a stream of detected signal marks, and the development of tracking algorithms. The model can be also used for predictive calculations that determine the probability of detecting signal sources and their characteristics

High Altitude Platform Station (HAPS) is part of the 3GPP defined non-terrestrial network (NTN) infrastructure for 5G networks. Various technical studies by 3GPP have addressed NTN-based implementations and have significantly studied satellite-based scenarios. However, the study does not sufficiently address HAPS or multi-HAPS based scenarios specifically. Though HAPS, is captured under Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), it has unique operational realities that set it apart from other NTN platforms. For instance, HAPS come in different variants of fixed-wing, balloons and airships. This paper highlights the need for expanded studies specifically aimed at HAPS for more seamless integration. The work also analyses the Doppler effect associated with fixed-wing HAPS systems to further demonstrate how operational scenarios may differ for these platforms and the need for targeted studies. HAPS is expected to contribute significantly to the NTN-based implementations and may require more specialised considerations within the 3GPP NTN technical specification process, especially for 5G and beyond 5G (B5G) networks.
