The current study aims verifying a behavior modification program (BMP) effectiveness, based on cognitive behavior modification strategies, in reducing (motor and vocal) tic levels among individuals with Tourette syndrome .The study sample comprised (10) children with Tourette syndrome aging between (9-17 years old).To achieve the study goals, the experimental approach was followed. Research tool were developed by Yale Global Tic Severity Scale (YGTSS). The BMP consists of (12) sessions, one session per week and (60) minutes for each session. The study results indicated that there are significant statistical differences at (α = 0.05) of performance level of the sample on the pre and post tests on the YGTSS motor, vocal, damage assessment, and on the overall totals in favor of the post test. No Statistically significant differences at (α = 0.05) were found based on gender, age variables on tic levels (motor/vocal) of the sample in the post test. The results also indicated that there were no statistically significant differences (α = 0.05) between performance means levels of the sample on the post and sequential tests which can be attributed to the behavior modification program effect on both (Motor/vocal) dimensions, on all sub-dimensions of each dimension including(number, frequency, intensity, complexity, overlap of tics), as well as damage assessment and the total score of the scale.

Latar belakang: Insecure merupakan istilah untuk menggambarkan perasaan yang kurang nyaman dan membuat seseorang merasa cemas, takut, malu hingga tidak percaya diri. Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) merupakan model intervensi yang bertujuan untuk mengurangi tekanan psikologis dan perilaku maladaptif dengan mengubah cara berpikir. Tujuan: Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan individu merasa insecure, dampak, dan cara mengatasinya. Metode: Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survey dalam mengumpulkan data subjek, dengan jumlah subjek sebanyak 38 orang. Hasil penelitian: Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa subjek lebih dominan jenis kelamin perempuan dan subjek dominan pernah merasakan insecure. Faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan subjek mengalami insecure antara lain adalah ketika berinteraksi dengan orang lain atau teman yang membuat individu selalu memikirkan hal-hal atau kata-kata ketika berinteraksi dan individu merasa tidak percaya diri. Cara subjek mengatasi insecure lebih dominan melakukan hal-hal positif atau menyibukkan diri. Kesimpulan: Faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan individu mengalami insecure, yaitu faktor internal dan eksternal. Dampak dari insecure adalah menurunnya tingkat kepercayaan diri pada individu. Cara mengatasinya bisa menggunakan teknik CBM dari teknik CBT.

Background: Depression includes negative interpretations of events, dislike of the self, and negative appraisal of the future. Objectives: The present study was conducted to investigate the effect of educational programs of cognitive-behavior modification and feeding behavior on serotonin levels and depression symptoms in university students. Materials & Methods: This quasi-experimental study was conducted with a pretest-posttest and a control group design. The study population included all male and female bachelor degree students in the Faculty of Literature and Humanities of the University of Guilan, Guilan Province, Iran at the time of the research. Among 2854 students, using Morgan’s table, the sample size was determined as 340. In the following, 24 students with depression symptoms and other inclusion criteria were selected as the sample and randomly assigned to the experimental and control groups. During the twelve sessions of training, the number of participants decreased from 24 to 16. The study tools included the Beck depression inventory (1996), the food frequency questionnaire (2017), 21 food enjoyment questionnaire, and the blood test. The obtained data were analyzed by 1-way analysis of covariance in SPSS v. 24. Results: The analysis showed that the use of cognitive-behavior modification training reduced students’ depression (P<0.01). However, the use of feeding behavior training did not increase serotonin levels in students (P>0.05). Conclusion: Among people with depression symptoms, cognitive-behavior modification by focusing on their negative self-talk can be useful in creating sensible thoughts and positive inner dialogue. But in these people, feeding behavior training for two months did not change serotonin levels.

AbstractChildren with Borderline Intellectual Functioning (BIF) are prone to experiencing social anxiety caused by cognitive distortions. Psychological interventions that emphasize the conversion of cognitive is a cognitive-behavioral modification (CBM). Research on the application of CBM for children BIF has not been carried out. The aim of this study was to examine the effectiveness of CBM to reduce social anxiety on children with BIF. Social anxiety was measured by the Social Anxiety Scale for Adolescent (SAS-A). Data in this study also were obtained through observation and interviews with subjects and parents. This research using single subject A-B-A’ design and involve one subject, 13 years old female adolescent. This intervention conducted in 6 sessions with 90-120 minutes/session. Data on this study is analyzed by comparing SAS-A scores before and after the intervention. The result shows a change in social anxiety level on the subject. Therefore, Cognitive Behavior Modification is effective to reduce the level of social anxiety on an adolescent with BIF.Keywords: Borderline Intellectual Functioning; Cognitive Behavior Modification; Social anxiety AbstrakAnak dengan borderline intellectual functioning (BIF) rentan mengalami masalah kecemasan sosial yang disebabkan oleh distorsi kognitif. Intervensi psikologis yang bisa dilakukan adalah modifikasi kognitif-perilaku. Penelitian mengenai penerapan modifikasi kognitif-perilaku untuk anak dengan BIF belum banyak dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat keefektifan Modifikasi Kognitif-Perilaku untuk menurunkan kecemasan sosial pada anak dengan BIF. Kecemasan sosial diukur menggunakan kuesioner Social Anxiety Scale for Adolescent (SAS-A). Data dalam penelitian ini juga diperoleh melalui observasi dan wawancara dengan subjek dan orang tua. Design penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah single subject A-B-A’ design, penelitian ini melibatkan satu subjek yaitu seorang remaja perempuan berusia 13 tahun. Terapi ini dilakukan dalam 6 sesi, dengan durasi 90-120 menit/sesi. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan membandingkan skor SAS-A sebelum dan sesudah intervensi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya perubahan tingkat kecemasan sosial pada subjek. Dengan demikian, Modifikasi Kognitif-Perilaku terbukti efektif untuk menurunkan tingkat kecemasan sosial pada remaja dengan BIF.Kata Kunci: Borderline Intellectual Functioning; Kecemasan Sosial; Modifikasi Kognitif Perilaku

This study aimed to determine the effect of implementation Cognitive Behaviour Modification (CBM) to improve the ability to manage stres on new students. The design research is one group Pretest-Postest. Based on the recommendations and observations, specified the ten new students FITK UIN Maliki as research subjects who indicated experiencing stres. Data on the ability to manage stres obtained from student records to fill Manage Stress Inventory (MSI). Hypothesis test results indicate CBM approach has a significant effect p = 0.000> 0.05. The average score of 82.00 (posttes scor) > 62.4 (pretest scor) and N-gain = 20. It can be concluded CBM approach has a significant impact on improving the ability to manage stress for new students.
