Community Q&A forum is a special type of social media that provides a platform to raise questions and to answer them (both by forum participants), to facilitate online information sharing. Currently, community Q&A forums in professional domains have attracted a large number of users by offering professional knowledge. To support information access and save users’ efforts of raising new questions, they usually come with a question retrieval function, which retrieves similar existing questions (and their answers) to a user’s query. However, it can be difficult for community Q&A forums to cover all domains, especially those emerging lately with little labeled data but great discrepancy from existing domains. We refer to this scenario as cross-domain question retrieval. To handle the unique challenges of cross-domain question retrieval, we design a model based on adversarial training, namely, X-QR , which consists of two modules—a domain discriminator and a sentence matcher. The domain discriminator aims at aligning the source and target data distributions and unifying the feature space by domain-adversarial training. With the assistance of the domain discriminator, the sentence matcher is able to learn domain-consistent knowledge for the final matching prediction. To the best of our knowledge, this work is among the first to investigate the domain adaption problem of sentence matching for community Q&A forums question retrieval. The experiment results suggest that the proposed X-QR model offers better performance than conventional sentence matching methods in accomplishing cross-domain community Q&A tasks.

A competency framework points out the requisite skills and knowledge of a particular occupation. A competence framework enables institutions to easily identify areas where remedial training may be required; thereby training quality and ultimately public safety could be improved also. This study was conducted to build up a competency framework for school psychologists in Vietnamese. 91 school psychologists, lecturers, and psychologists from Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong Province, Long An Province, Vinh Long Province, Can Tho Province in Vietnam participated in the survey process. The findings of our study showed that the competency framework for school psychologists in Vietnam includes three main components: (1) professional knowledge, (2) counseling skills, and (3) attitude and moral qualities.

O presente artigo tem como objetivo discutir aspectos acerca da resolução de problemas aritméticos durante o Movimento Escola Nova no Brasil. A partir dos conceitos sobre saberes profissionais (HOFSTETTER; SCHNEUWLY, 2017), aritmética sob medida (PINHEIRO, 2017) e da caracterização dos problemas aritméticos sob medida (SOUZA, no prelo) foram observadas duas referências para o ensino e a formação de professores nos artigos das revistas pedagógicas publicadas em São Paulo entre as décadas de 1920 e 1960. Dois autores foram utilizados de modo a justificar a presença dos problemas nas aulas de aritmética: Victor Mercante e Edward Lee Thorndike. Many studies have reported on the influence of teachers’ conceptions of variability on different aspects of their professional knowledge for teaching statistics and their classroom practices. However, research on these kind of conceptions is still scarce, particularly in Latin American countries like Venezuela. In an effort to help fill this gap, a qualitative study was conducted that aimed to characterize the different ways in which Venezuelan in-service secondary school mathematics teachers conceptualize variability. For that purpose, a survey instrument was developed and administered to 27 teachers working at the metropolitan area of Caracas. This paper focuses on the participants’ answers to two items in which interpretation of histograms was necessary. It was found that about a third of the participants exhibited a sophisticated recognition of variability (e.g., gave answers connecting both middles and extremes), whereas about half of them exhibited misconceptions of variability, such as acknowledging variability from the viewpoint of idiosyncratic ideas, or the degree of symmetry (or lack thereof) of a histogram. Moreover, it was also found that about two-thirds of the participants were unable to correctly match real-life contexts to their corresponding histograms, while about two-fifths were unable to correctly determine the accuracy or inaccuracy of descriptions of the variability in a histogram. The author discusses possible reasons for the obtained results, in order to identify relevant implictions for teacher education in the area of statistics. Abstract: Spanish Diversos estudios han reportado que las concepciones de los docentes sobre variabilidad influencian tanto su conocimiento profesional para la enseñanza de la estadística, como sus prácticas en el aula. Sin embargo, investigaciones sobre este tipo de concepciones son aún escasas, particularmente en países latinoamericanos como Venezuela. Intentando satisfacer esta necesidad, se condujo un estudio cualitativo para identificar y caracterizar las diferentes maneras en que maestros venezolanos de matemáticas a nivel de secundaria conceptualizan la variabilidad. Con tal propósito, un cuestionario fue desarrollado y administrado a 27 docentes en el área metropolitana de Caracas. Este artículo se centra en las respuestas dadas por los participantes a dos ítems del cuestionario, en los que era necesaria la interpretación de histogramas. Se descubrió que aproximadamente un quinto de los participantes demostró un reconocimiento sofisticado de la variabilidad (e.g., considerar simultáneamente valores centrales y extremos de un histograma), mientras que alreadedor de la mitad exhibió concepciones erróneas, tales como el reconocimiento de la variabilidad a partir de ideas idiosincrásicas, o del grado de simetría de un histograma. Además, unos cuatro quintos de los participantes fueron incapaces de establecer una correspondencia entre contextos de la vida real y sus respectivos histogramas, mientras que unos dos quintos fueron incapaces de determinar si descripciones de la variabilidad en un histograma eran o no correctas. El autor discute las posibles razones de los resultados obtenidos, con el fin de identificar implicaciones relevantes para la formación docente en el área de la estadística.

The article considers health care terminology in the cognitive aspect of professional knowledge cognition and conceptualization by an expert. We apply the notion of frame semantics as the linguistics method introduced by Charles Fillmore as the model of professional cognition in the process of professional communication. So the aim of our research is to illustrate cognition in science from the point of conceptualization of professional terminology and health care terminology in particular. The frame that marks the conceptual structure of a health care terminology is also the issue of our analysis.  Following these approaches, the study of health care terms takes into account the frame semantics and its role in cognition and afterwards the nomination of professional knowledge in health care. Since concept represents the basic units of processing, storage and transfer of knowledge - therefore, one of the main properties of the frame is the categorical nature of the knowledge organization i.e., formation in the concept a phenomenon, an object, symptoms of a particular diseases, and modeling   its relationship with other units of professional knowledge. Thus, the method of frame analysis was also used to study the texts of health care, which consists in modeling the concept by combining different types of basic frames: subject, action, possessive, taxonomic, and comparative.

Based on the late medieval leather artefacts from Puck, Gniew, Lębork and Chojnice, an attempt was made to assess the level of shoemaking production at that time. Microscopic analyses of leather goods and production waste proved that in the field of tanning the activities related to the mechanical treatment of leather were carefully performed, although with insufficient professional knowledge concerning the process. The results of the identification of the animal origin of the leather confirmed the purposeful selection of raw material with different properties for individual footwear elements and the ability to properly cut it. The quality of the shoemaking products was highly rated in terms of technology and style. However, in the analysed collections a clearly perceptible difference in craftsmanship and assortment of products from Gniew and the other three towns was noticed.

В статье рассматривается современное состояние гастрономического туризма, целью которого является путешествие и ознакомление с национальной кухней страны, фирменными блюдами, обучением, повышением уровня профессиональных знаний в области кулинарного мастерства. Рассматриваются теоретические аспекты гастрономического туризма, влияние гастрономических событий на формирование бренда туристского региона. Выявлены проблемы развития гастрономического туризма в Казахстане, прогнозы его дальнейшего развития. Собраны популярные гастрономические туры по самым выгодным ценам. Раскрывается роль гастрономического туризма в формировании бренда территории. Поднимаются вопросы перспективного развития кулинарного туризма в Акмолинской области. Расписаны методы исследования гастрономического туризма, как современного явления среди новых туристских продуктов. Расписаны результаты исследования, проводимые американским экономистом. The article examines the current state of gastronomic tourism, the purpose of which is to travel and get acquainted with the national cuisine of the country, specialties, training, improving the level of professional knowledge in the field of culinary skills. The theoretical aspects of gastronomic tourism, the influence of gastronomic events on the formation of the brand of the tourist region are considered. The problems of the development of gastronomic tourism in Kazakhstan, forecasts of its further development are revealed. Popular gastronomic tours are collected at the best prices. The role of gastronomic tourism in the formation of the brand of the territory is revealed. The issues of the prospective development of culinary tourism in the Akmola region are raised. Methods of research of gastronomic tourism as a modern phenomenon among new tourist products are described. The results of a study conducted by an American economist are described.
