Abstract The purpose of this paper is the optimization of an online shared freight transportation service platform with the use of Conjoint Analysis for the region of Balkan – Mediterranean. A Choice-Based Conjoint analysis was performed amongst the partners of the INTERREG Balkan-Med SCOPE project in order to optimize such a platform which is under development in the frame of the project. The results show that the best possible configuration of the platform should be offered at least in the local language, on a website, in the form of an auction platform, the charging should be done per shipment, and its range should be European / international. Moreover, selecting the right levels for each attribute is of crucial importance for the success of a freight transportation service platform, as the best configuration has a market share that is above 100% of the second-best configuration, according to the market simulation that was performed. Therefore, tools as Conjoint Analysis should be incorporated in the planning and design of such products in order to have the best marketable results for shippers, carriers, and consumers; a product that is customized according to their needs and preferences.

Professional orientation is a generalized concept of one of the components of universal human culture, manifested in the form of society's concern for the professional development of the younger generation, support and development of natural talents, as well as a set of special measures to assist a person in professional self-determination and choosing the optimal type of employment, taking into account his needs and opportunities, socio-economic situation in the labor market. Simulation training is one of the brightest forms of vocational guidance work with schoolchildren.

AbstractAgent-based simulation has become an established method for innovation and technology diffusion research. It extends traditional approaches by modeling diffusion processes from a micro-level perspective, which enables the consideration of various heterogeneous stakeholders and their diverse interactions. While such a simulation is well suited to capture the complex behavior of markets, its application is challenging when it comes to modeling future markets. Therefore, we propose a multi-method approach that combines scenario analysis that generates multiple “pictures of the future” with an agent-based market simulation that offers insight into the potential outcomes of today’s strategic (technological) decisions in each of these futures. Thus, simulation results can provide valuable decision support for corporate planners and industrial engineers when they are engaged in technology planning. This paper describes the novel approach and illustrates it through a sample application that is based on an industry-related research project on the development and market introduction of smart products.

Indonesia conduct cultural diplomacy activities not only by central government but also regional government, including Provincial Government of South Kalimantan. The purpose of this research is to understand how Provincial Government of South Kalimantan conducted cultural diplomacy in Festival Banjar 2018-2019. The concepts used in this research are Cultural Diplomacy by Gienow-Hecht and Donfried and Paradiplomacy by Duchacek. This research uses constructivist paradigm and qualitative research method with qualitative data analysis techniques by Miles, Huberman and Saldana. The results of this research reveal that Festival Banjar 2018-2019 is a form of cultural diplomacy carried out by sub-national actor, in this case Provincial Government of South Kalimantan. Festival Banjar 2018-2019 is a cultural diplomacy agent practice belongs to mixed model; agenda to promote South Kalimantan culture and tourism; vehicle through South Kalimantan art and floating market simulation; target audience are the diplomatic corps and foreign societies. Provincial Government of South Kalimantan as a sub-national actor also related to paradiplomacy where the implementation involves two main types of paradiplomatic activities, such as lobbying through interactive talk shows with the target audiences; and media exposure during the event.

Construction waste is a serious challenge that requires particular attention from construction managers to improve the performance of their projects and survive in a highly competitive market. Simulation modeling provides decision-makers with a controllable operating system and a more cost-effective environment which allows a better understanding of construction processes deficiencies. The current paper aims to assess waste in a bricklaying process using ARENA. Data used for simulation modelling were collected through field observations and video recording techniques. Using EasyFit, goodness-of-fit tests were performed to identify the best probabilistic density functions for each construction operation in the studied process. Simulation outputs show that non-value-added (NVA) activities dominate the bricklaying process with 85.2 % of the total cycle time. These results indicate a strong potential for optimizing the process under study by reducing these sources of waste especially regarding waiting time that holds the highest share of waste with 72.5 %.
