Abstract This article discusses the fabrication and performance of a multi-channel fibre switch, consisting of 19 single-mode fibres, with enhanced coupling efficiency due to micro-optics, directly printed via two-photon-polymerization on the end-face of each fibre. The use of high-resolution two-photon-polymerization not only allows the enhancement of the coupling efficiency with respect to the coupling device in use but likewise offers great freedom in the arrangement of the used fibres. This letter gives a thorough explanation of the fabrication method as well as the optical simulations for the lenses on the fibre assembly.

This Conclusion closes the study by summarizing the account of political economy that has been developed, which is intended to replace the standard accounts of ‘classical political economy’. The premise motivating this alternative account is that it is unacceptable to simply assume that classical political economy existed. By studying the major controversies of the period, the forms of argument active in them, and the reception of Smith’s Wealth of Nations in the doctrinal contests between Malthus and Ricardo, it was not possible to support the claim that such a unity existed. Instead, the evidence suggests that political economy was an ill-defined staging ground for contests spilling out of parliamentary debate. This is why the vast majority of texts represent attempts to supervene on policy. These texts—including those by Malthus and Ricardo—were almost always produced using ready-to-hand concepts and instruments. That is, political economy was constructed with great freedom, without intellectual specialization, and in dialogue with the controversies of the day. Moreover, it did not possess its own vocabulary or methods and was even construed as a species of political metaphysics of the same type thought to have caused the French Revolution. In such a context, theoretical speculation concerning commercial life was neither a prestigious nor an accepted form of behaviour, and both Malthus and Ricardo went to elaborate lengths to justify ‘theory’. This circumstance represents a major discontinuity between their time and ours.

Purpose The authors set out to ask if authentic leadership (AL) could benefit workers’ performance. They felt there was a crisis of confidence in leadership in many countries and it was important to determine which styles of management were the most inspiring. Design/methodology/approach The survey was based on 177 groups consisting of both leaders and followers from 25 private SMEs in Portugal. The followers recorded their assessments of their managers’ AL, whereas the leaders assessed their employees’ levels of creativity, OCB, and performance. Findings Research showed a positive correlation between AL and employees’ OCB, creativity, and performance. This confirmed the findings of previous research. But the present study was based on a more rigorously empirical method and provided more information about the mechanisms through which AL influences performance. Originality/value The authors said the results should encourage managers to adopt an AL approach. They suggested six principles to follow: first, allowing employees great freedom to choose what actions to take, as this encourages creativity; second, canvasing opinions widely, as it improves decision-making; third, admitting errors and encouraging similar levels of honesty in employees; fourth, putting in place multiple feedback mechanisms; fifth, making sure tasks are consistent with employee values; and finally, being aware of personal moral weaknesses under pressure.

As a European citizen I have enjoyed great freedom working and travelling across the European Union since I was in my early 20s. During this time I have made strong, lasting friendships with many people but not least in France, Sweden, and Portugal. Following the ‘Brexit’ referendum, many of these friends asked, ‘Why leave?’ ‘What is happening to the UK?’ I had no answers and also found it difficult to convey in words the mixture of sadness, disappointment, disillusion, anger, and frustration that I felt. Qualitative researchers are often drawn to arts-based methodologies when words fail us. Here, I draw on a song to help communicate a complex and emotional landscape which includes how a refugee crisis, an influx of asylum seekers, and immigration conflicts in 2015 seemed to create a groundswell of fear and contribute to a ‘leave’ vote being registered by 51.9% of those who completed the ballot form.

A search Przna Koran scholars names of the year and the most important realizations taxonomic or Altalevah in the field of science of the Quran, as we found that they have great freedom in scientific achievement despite the doctrine built tin, and this brings us to the built tin Their goal was not to suppress talent, but they work various ways to contribute to the seriousness in the field of cognitive sciences and all the terms of reference .. wanted to perpetuate their existence and their role through the promotion of science and supplement the Islamic civilization, what is new.  However these were not the contributions of scientists and other contributions to the level of other religious sciences.

Andrzej Wajda was one of those directors who created their actors in the way he allowed them to truly shape his films and theatre performances. The presence of his actors is striking in Wajda’s work, not only in the professional sense but also the human element. On numerous occasions Wajda emphasised that the only moment of true inspiration in his work is in the process of casting. While selecting actors he stayed extremely close to the characters, and in his quest for the right person he asked: “Who, in today’s social and existential situation, should play this character?” In his work he afforded his actors great freedom, which enabled them to develop their talents to the full. However, realising he could not always meet expectations with tried and tested actors, he sought out new faces and made radical changes to his team, which was often a source of frustration for actors. Aware of this lack of fulfillment, Wajda sometimes made it the subject of his films, sometimes returning to actors cast aside years earlier.
