Abstract The aim of this paper is to show the relationship between indexicality, standardization policy and socioeconomic inequalities in the Galician linguistic field (as a minor language of Spain). I will examine the discursive role of Galician elites in the building of indexical orders from the Renaissance movement (19th century) onwards, and its links to the current negative representations of rural Galician. Also, I will explore the relationship between anti-rural prejudices, ideologies of class and standard ideologies, showing how common speakers share the stigmatizing indexical values of the elites, and rural speakers consent to the symbolic violence of which they are victims. Finally, I adapt the concept of gentrification from contemporary urbanism to the linguistic field in order to explain the impact of elitist academic lingualizing discourse on traditional speakers of Galician and also on the value of their varieties in the linguistic market. I support my analysis on the metalinguistic discourse of members of the intellectual elites authorized in the Galician linguistic and cultural field from Renaissance to contemporaneity, attitudinal matched-guise research, and ethnographic studies of the second millennium.

This article explores the factors militating against the diffusion integration electronic medical records in Ghana. Structured questionnaires were used to collect data from respondents in the healthcare ecosystem and analyzed quantitatively using descriptive and inferential statistics. The findings revealed non-integration of electronic medical records systems among the stakeholders of the healthcare ecosystem mostly due to and interoperability issues. There is also substantial usage of technology in capturing and storing medical records. The key factors militating against the integration of electronic medical records systems are inadequate funds to purchase database management systems, acquisition and maintenance costs of electronic medical records systems, and an unclear return on investment on the integrated electronic medical records systems. The article recommends sustained government financial support, standardization policy and implementation guidelines to facilitate the integration of electronic medical records systems in the various health institutions.

The policy of the Minister of Trade which stipulates Ministerial Regulation No. 97 / M-DAG / PER / 12/2014 on the provisions on the export of forestry industry products implements the obligation to apply product standardization with SVLK (Timber Legality Verification System) to processed wood products from January 1, 2015. SVLK requirements for Small and Medium Enterprises (IKM), especially wood furniture and handicraft industries, are simplified in the form of self declaration as set forth in the document "Export Declaration." However, the Export Declaration Policy set by the government as an alternative for furniture business actors who do not have SVLK does not apply in European market and Australia. The results of research in Central Java Province found the furniture industry as a superior product, the number of SMEs that canceled its export contract causing the loss by stopping furniture exports even though this effort is done by the government in order to improve competitiveness.
