Child's Right of Education in Islam and Afghan Laws

Childhood is an important stage of human life that has been valued in different forms by different societies and nations of the world. According to Muslim jurists, this stage of life begins from birth and continues until puberty. Afghan modern laws and many related international legal documents consider the age of 18 to be the end of childhood. Human beings at this important stage of life, called "children", have a lot of rights because of their weakness, inability to live independently, and because they need to be assisted to pass this important stage of life well and become effective persons in the society. One of the most important rights of a child is having access to a sound and effective education. Caring for this right of children is the responsibility of their parents, relatives, and the government, respectively. In view of this, Islamic Sharia and modern laws, both national and international, recognize the right to education as one of the most important rights of a child, and have enacted many legal provisions in this field and obliged the parties involved to implement them.

Integrating Drone Technology in Service Learning for Engineering Students

Future engineers shall not only good at knowledge and technology but also good at other attributes such ethical, professional as well as managing people and emotion. Service learning is an effective education model to develop more holistic engineers. However, there is a lack of service learning framework that integrates technology, in order to achieve the acquisition of the above attributes. This paper describes how drone technology is disseminated by engineering students to the public through a service learning programme. Document analysis of the course information, project reports, and students’ reflections were employed in this study to identify the learning process and attributes developed by the students. the students went through 6 phases of service learning implementation. Results show that the service learning has enhanced the students’ learning, sense of responsibility, accountability, and international exposure. These are essential to develop good engineers in the future.

Research on the Effects of Ideals and Beliefs Education for College Students

The question of college students nowadays having firm ideals and believes is not only related to their achievements, but also related to the reformation and development of the country. In addition, by conducting scientific and effective education of ideals and beliefs for college students, it can be used to promote development in the direction of demand for talents in the new era with ideals, beliefs and responsibility. The authors propose several ways to effectively carry out the education of college students’ ideals and beliefs, based on the significance of ideals and beliefs and the introduction of the relationship between the ideal and belief education of college students, as well as the “youth dream” and the “Chinese dream” in order to explore effective ways to strengthen the ideal and belief education for college students in the new era. This article may be a reference for higher education institutions.

Analysis of the Intelligence Structure in Nursing Students

Preparation for the profession of a nurse requires, in addition to knowledge, the development of specific skills; many of them are primarily connected to cognitive abilities. In the context of effective education, one of the key facts is to recognise the intelligence structure of nursing students. The aim of the research was to analyse the intelligence structure in nursing students, to compare scores in individual areas of intelligence with the norm, to identify problematic areas of intelligence, and to suggest possibilities for intervention in education. The research sample consisted of 266 women aged 19 to 43 years old (average age = 20.10 years) - current students of the study field of nursing at the bachelor's degree. Data collection was carried out in the years 2014 - 2019. To measure the structure of intelligence, a standardized IST-70 questionnaire was used, focusing on two meta constructs - reasoning and memory. Subtests of numerical, verbal, and figural intelligence were analysed within the meta construct of reasoning. The value of the gross score of the total intelligence level of the examined group (M = 84.95; SD = 19.87) is comparable (t = -1.58; sig. = 0.114) with the population norm (M = 87; SD = 25). The research sample of nursing students scored statistically significantly higher in the meta construct of memory (t = 7.84; sig. = 0.000) and significantly lower in the meta construct of reasoning (t = -3.876, sig. = 0.000). The most significant deficits were present in figural and numerical intelligence. In view of the results achieved, we recommend introducing interventions in the area of training future nurses, which should be aimed at compensating for deficits in figural and numerical intelligence.
