This study aimed to determine how the influence of mastery of basic accounting vocabulary, accounting competence and computer competence on MYOB accounting computer learning outcomes. The research was included in the quantitative type with the correlational method. The population in this study were students of class XI Accounting at SMK NU 1 Islamiyah Kramat, totalling 115 students in the 2020-2021 academic year. Sampling was carried out by using a random technique using the proportional random sampling method and calculated using the Slovin formula in order to obtain 97 students. This study used primary data sources obtained from tests to measure the level of mastery of English accounting vocabulary, accounting competence and computer competence. Meanwhile, secondary data sources were obtained from several sources which were considered to have relevance to the research. Data analysis used multiple linear regression method. The results of the study, both simultaneously and partially, showed a significant influence between foreign language accounting vocabulary competence, accounting competence and computer competence on MYOB learning outcomes. Suggestions for further research are to examine learning outcomes by presenting intervening variables and linking them with other independent variables.

This paper seeks to describe the vital traits of sociocultural artifacts within collaborative social interactive patterns exhibited by indigenous and non-indigenous children in a computer environment. The case investigative method was used in one pre-primary centre in metropolitan Perth, Western Australia, to examine the patterns of collaboration among young children whilst working with computers. To assess the children’s current social skills and computer competence, and their general social interaction with peers, the researcher interviewed the children and their teacher through a semi-structured interview, to guide the discussion. Both observational comments, descriptions and data analyses were presented with anecdotes. 243 interactions were identified and classified into 16 interaction patterns. The frequency of occurrence of identified interactions was analysed in the form of descriptive statistics. Factors facilitating the collaborative interaction of children whilst engaged in computer activities were found to be related to the sociological imperatives of the immediate contexts of the social interactions involved. Associated with the main findings were three major variables: (1) The classroom teacher variable (philosophy and educational beliefs, task-structure and computer management); (2) the software variable (sociocultural appropriateness, developmentally appropriateness, content, design, and programmed task-structure); and (3) the child variable (computer competency and attitude towards computer, social goals, social skills, and personal relationship with collaborators). By identifying the imperatives of sociocultural traits of collaborative social interactions of children, and factors that may facilitate or inhibit these interactions, sociologists, social anthropologists, educationists, linguists, and early childhood educators will be in a better position to integrate the computer into their classroom and to promote positive sociocultural-appropriate prosocial interaction among indigenous and non-indigenous children whilst engaged at the computer.

This study aimed at exploring South Yemeni EFL tertiary teachers’ attitudes towards implementing ICTs in their English language teaching, their current uses of such ICTs in their teaching and difficulties they encounter when implementing ICTs in their teaching for the purpose of getting an overall picture of ICTs-assisted language instruction in South Yemeni context and what is required for implementing a better ICTs-assisted language instruction at the concerned universities. Data were collected through a questionnaire webbed to 81 EFL teachers (n=81) and then analyzed by SPSS. The questionnaire consists of five-Likert items and open questions. Findings revealed that EFL teachers of the concerned universities held positive attitudes towards using ICTs in their teaching of English and there were no significant differences in teachers’ attitudes that can be attributed to gender, academic level or computer competence. They perceived ICTs as an effective tool in facilitating language teaching and learning, motivating students to learn and developing all language skills. However, their actual uses of such technologies in their classroom teaching were not up to the level required. A significant difference in teachers’ actual uses of technology can be attributed to their computer competence as those teachers with a high computer competence were found using ICTs more than their low computer competence counterparts. The study concluded that South Yemeni teachers’ lack of implementing ICTs in their EFL classes can be attributed to many factors such as lack of ICT tools in their departments, unavailability of internet and lack of computer competence and training. The study concluded with some recommendations that may help in implementing ICTs better in EFL education at the concerned universities particularly and at Yemeni universities generally.

The paper aims to explore the ways social media use is linked with paranoia, and how they influence buyers’ attitudes and intentions in online shopping, thus shaping overall consumer behaviour. The theoretical analysis suggests that paranoia, being influenced by social media use, plays a noticeable role in the process of online shopping. The main assumption is that paranoia is an antecedent of the attitude towards online purchasing and mediates effects of other factors towards it. This is confirmed with SEM modelling on the basis of empirical data: the analysis provides evidence that paranoia is an important antecedent of the attitude towards purchasing online and mediates relationships between computer competence, cyber-fear, social media use and the attitude towards online shopping. Additionally, a contradictory relation between paranoia and online purchasing intention is observed. Overall, these findings disclose a new important factor in online shopping and outline several new directions for future research.

This study aimed to investigate English as a Foreign Language (EFL) pre-service teachers’ perceptions towards the use of Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) in the English Language Classrooms concerning the teachers’ computer competence and their perceptions of CALL after creating and using their own CALL in language teaching. The participants were EFL pre-service teachers studying in the faculty of education, Mahasarakham University, Thailand. Questionnaires were used to collect the data after teaching with CALL. The findings revealed that the overall computer competence of the participants was a moderate to a high level, yet the participants were not competent in accessing the different types of information and CALL materials online. Furthermore, the participants reported that the use of a computer made language learning interesting and encouraging. However, they demonstrated that a computer training program was required due to the lack of competence in operating some computer programs as well as the inadequate knowledge of new technology for the language learning. It can be surmised that though the EFL pre-service teachers have learned about CALL, they still find the CALL knowledge gained from the teaching methodology courses insufficient for effective CALL integration and design. Therefore, the study suggests that in order to improve teacher preparation courses, the knowledge of CALL including what CALL is, various types of CALL, as well as CALL materials evaluation be provided. Additionally, the understanding of teaching approaches should also be improved along with the technological skills since the knowledge of CALL solely is inadequate to make effective teaching. The teachers need the capability of selecting the right CALL materials and teaching approaches which are appropriate to the lesson.

The retrospective analysis of computer science teaching proves that the rapid development of information and communication technologies changes the social demand of the society for the level of computer competence of its members. The expansion of the spectrum of digital technologies affects the necessity to form the corresponding competences of a modern person. The educational reform in Ukraine regulates qualitative changes at every level of education. Updating the curricula on informatics for primary school requires the revision of educational programs for the preparing a primary school teacher, in particular according to the formation of his methodological and informational competence. The analysis of the curricula of higher education in Ukraine has shown the outdated content of the disciplines, which are basic for the formation of the phenomenon under the study. The solution of the problem is seen by the authors in the transformation of the methodological system, the purpose of which is determined through the realization of the tasks of the informatics education. The article substantiates the necessity to harmonize the conceptual content of the educational program of the primary school teacher and the contents of the curriculum on informatics for primary school, modernization of the means, methods and forms of teaching. Such qualitative changes also affect the list of the expected results, which are required for the level of the teacher’s methodological and informational competence formation. The authors identify the components of the studied phenomenon (motivational, cognitive, activity, vocational and pedagogical), as well as the main factors that have a qualitative influence on its formation (personification, "learning based on mastery", personal responsibility for learning outcomes, collective-distribution environment). The article describes the mechanism of the functioning of the methodical system through the implementation of mixed teaching, the development of manuals on informatics and methods of teaching informatics at primary school, the content of which is supplemented and updated depending on the requirements to the level of formation of methodological and informational competence of a teacher.
