AbstractThe multidimensional forced-choice (MFC) format has been proposed to reduce faking because items within blocks can be matched on desirability. However, the desirability of individual items might not transfer to the item blocks. The aim of this paper is to propose a mixture item response theory model for faking in the MFC format that allows to estimate the fakability of MFC blocks, termed the Faking Mixture model. Given current computing capabilities, within-subject data from both high- and low-stakes contexts are needed to estimate the model. A simulation showed good parameter recovery under various conditions. An empirical validation showed that matching was necessary but not sufficient to create an MFC questionnaire that can reduce faking. The Faking Mixture model can be used to reduce fakability during test construction.

Among many amplitude parameters, Kurtosis (4-th normalized moment of probability density function) is recognized to be the sensitive good parameter for machine diagnosis. On the other hand, a new method of machine diagnosis can be considered utilizing the higher order cumulants which have the characteristics that cumulants more than 3rd order are 0 under Gaussian distribution. Cumulants are stated in combination with the same order moment and the moments under that order. Simple calculation method is required on the maintenance site. Furthermore, the absolute deterioration factor such as Bicoherence would be much easier to handle because it takes the value of 1.0 under the normal condition and tends to be 0 when damages increase. In this paper, nth normalized cumulant is considered so as to intensify the sensitivity of diagnosis. Also, the simplified calculation method for this new parameter by impact vibration is introduced. Furthermore, the absolute deterioration factor is introduced. Three cases in which the rolling elements number is nine, twelve and sixteen are examined and compared. The new calculation method is examined whether it is a sensitive good parameter or not. Compared with the results obtained so far, the new method shows fairly good results.

The studies demonstrated the possibility of effective catalytic synthesis of aromatic hydrocarbons over a zinc oxide modified zeolite catalyst during several reaction-regeneration cycles. The service cycle was shown to be no less than 130–150 hours – a good parameter for the high temperature process. Dependencies of the conversion of fatty C3–C4 constituents of APG on the reaction temperature and time were determined.

Manual formulation of poultry diet by taking into account the fulfillment of all nutrients requirement with least cost is a difficult task. Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) shows promising technique to solve this problem. However, there is a lack of studying a good parameter for PSO to solve feed formulation problem since PSO is sensitive to control parameter which depends on the problem. Therefore, this study investigates good swarm size, total iterations, acceleration coefficients, and inertia weight to produce a better formula. PSO with proposed good parameters is compared with other parameters. The obtained result shows that PSO with good parameters choice produces the highest fitness. Furthermore, good parameters of PSO can be used as a reference for a software developer and for further research to optimize poultry diet using PSO.

Varieties of the laboratory test can be applied in the detecting of iron status. These test are divided into conventional hematologicindex and biochemical iron serum. With the development of an hematological analyzer, new parameter has been found to monitor theiron status with reticulocytes hemoglobin analysis (Ret-He). To know the diagnostic accuracy of Ret-He and to conclude whether Ret-Hecan be used as a parameter to detect iron deficiency in pregnant women by obtaining certain information. This study used analyticalcross sectional was conducted at Haji Adam Malik Hospital Medan, in March−June 2013. The Applying samples consisted of 64 thirdtrimester pregnant women which divided into two (2) groups: the noniron deficiency group using 28 subjects and in the iron deficiency36 subjects. In this study, the researchers found AUC for Ret-He about 77.7% with the best cut off value of <31.4 pg. Using the cut offvalue the researchers obtained the sensitivity about 61.1%, specificity 75.0%, Positive Predictive Value (PPV) 75.8%, Negative PredictiveValue (NPV) 60.0%, Likehood Ratio (LR) (+) 2.44 and LR (–) 0.51%. Based on this study, can be concluded, that the diagnostic accuracyRet-He is a good parameter to detect iron deficiency in the pregnant women.

The wastewater has been an environmental problem, but your used as fertilizers could reduce or eliminate the application of commercial fertilizers in soil. Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) and nitrogen fixing bacteria (NFB) are a good parameter to analyze the impacts of this fertigationon soil. We aimed to evaluate the distribution and diversity of AMF and NFB before and after applications of wastewater or manure from green line of a cattle slaughterhouse in the irrigation of B. brizantha cv Marandu in Cerrado soil and leaf biomass productivity. The experimental design was performed in completely randomized blocks with ten biofertigation managements. The seeds of the forage were distributed in grooves with spacing of 5 cm. This seeds were covered with a soil layer. NFB and AMF diversity was performed by denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE). The leaf biomass productivity in the biofertigation managements was higher than in the managements without the use wastewater/manure. After biofertigation managements, changes in the DGGE profile of the NFB and AMF communities were observed. These changes may be due to the difference in the sample collection period and in the soil humidification. Thus, these DGGE profiles was a good parameter to diagnose the efficacy of wastewater/manure as an alternative biotechnological irrigation.

Oxidized both silicon-face (Si-face) and carbon-face (C-face) wafers with various post-oxidation-annealing conditions were measured by scanning nonlinear dielectric microscopy (SNDM) and method for evaluating SiO2/SiC interface quality using SNDM was investigated. We found that the normalized standard deviation of SNDM image was good parameter to evaluate SiO2/SiC interface of Si and C-face. SNDM measurement does not need electrode fabrication to measure C-V curve, but needs just scan on the oxidized wafer with conductive tip, which is easier and quicker. This technique enables us to quickly examine the effect of variation of process parameters in MOS fabrication and to effectively reduce the time needed for R&D cycle.

Spontaneous imbibition in porous media is common in nature, imbibition potential is very important for understanding the imbibition ability, or the ability to keep high imbibition rate for a long time. Structure parameters have influence on imbibition potential. This work investigates the process of spontaneous imbibition of liquid into a fractal tree-like network, taking fractal structure parameters into consideration. The analytical expression for dimensionless imbibition rate with this fractal tree-like network is derived. The influence of structure parameters on imbibition potential is discussed. It is found that optimal diameter ratio [Formula: see text] is important for networks to have imbibition potential. Moreover, with liquid imbibed in more sub-branches, some structures of parameter combinations will show the characteristic of imbibition potential gradually. Finally, a parameter plane is made to visualize the percentage of good parameter in all possible combinations and to evaluate the imbibition potential of a specific network system more directly. It is also helpful to design and to optimize a fractal network with good imbibition potential.

AbstractBackground:The aim of the research is to evaluate the usefulness of the measurement of saccadic refixation in the diagnosis of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)/hyperkinetic disorder (HKD) in adults.Methods:Seventy-eight individuals were examined: 40 with ADHD/HKD and 38 healthy ones. A noninvasive eye movement examination using the Saccadometer (Advanced Clinical Instrumentation, Cambridge, UK) was applied. Two saccadic tests, prosaccades task (PT) and antisaccades task (AT), were carried out. Results:Based on the results, we can assume that selected parameters, such as latency, standard deviation of latency, promptness, and correctness (directional errors), in individuals with ADHD/HKD differ statistically in the relevant parameters from the healthy ones. The latency and the standard deviation of latency in ADHD/HKD participants are greater when compared to healthy ones. ADHD/HKD participants have a greater number of directional errors in comparison to healthy ones. Conclusions:The standard deviation of latency prosaccades is a good parameter for distinguishing people from both groups. An important and innovative solution in this study in comparison to the studies of other authors, who reached similar results, is the use of an automatically calibrating system (autonomous) adapted for clinical use as well as a quantitative analysis of the saccadic parameters.
