Abstrak: Pertambahan penduduk di Kabupaten Muna menyebabkan peningkatan kebutuhan akan rumah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengidentifikasi  faktor penentuan lokasi pembangunan permukiman masyarakat dan perumahan yang dibangun oleh swasta; (2) menganalisis perbedaan faktor dominan dalam penentuan lokasi pembangunan permukiman oleh masyarakat dan perumahan yang dibangun oleh swasta. Metode analisis data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah analisis kuantitatif dan analisis kualitatif yang dilanjutkan dengan analisis faktor lokasi pembangunan permukiman dan pembangunan perumahan. Hasil penelitian ini antara lain: (1) Faktor penentu lokasi pembangunan permukiman oleh masyarakat dengan 3 urutan teratas antara lain: pelayanan air, listrik dan telepon, faktor kondisi jaringan lingkungan, dan keberadaan ruang terbuka. Faktor penentu lokasi pembangunan perumahan oleh swasta adalah faktor tingkat kemiringan lahan, faktor ketersediaan jaringan listrik, faktor kedekatan jarak, dan faktor kemudahan dalam pemasaran; (2) Faktor dominan dalam penentuan lokasi pembangunan permukiman oleh masyarakat antara lain tempat tinggal asal, ketersediaan lahan yang luas, harga tanah yang terjangkau, masuk dalam wilayah kota dan kondisi lingkungan. Sedangkan pengembang cenderung mempertimbangkan faktor letak, yaitu lokasi termasuk dalam daerah pengembangan kota, kedekatan jarak, lokasi yang strategis, harga tanah dan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan perumahan daerah.Kata kunci: Faktor penentu lokasi permukiman, faktor penentu lokasi perumahanAbstrak: Population growth in Muna Regency causes an increase in the need of house.This research aims to: (1) identify factors in determining the location of settlements development and housing development; (2) analyze the differences of dominant factors in determining the location of residential development by the community and housing builtby the private sector. Data in this research is analized by using quantitative and qualitative analysis followed by factor analysis of location of settlements development and housing development. The results of this study shows that: (1) The determining factors for the location of settlement development by the community with the top 3 ranking, namely, water, electricity and telephone services, environmental network conditions, and the existence of open spaces. The determining factors for the location of housing development by the private sector are the land slope, the availability of the electricity network, the proximity factor, and the convenience factor in marketing; (2) The dominant factors in determining the location of residential development by the communityi.e.the original place of resident, the available land is wide, affordable land prices, included in the city area and environmental conditions. Mean while, private sector tend to consider location factors, namely location is in urban development areas, proximity to distances, strategic locations, land price and to meet regional housing needs.Keywords: Determining factors of settlement location, determining factors of housing location

When civil society organisations (CSOs) of asymmetric size, structure and scope become members of an advocacy network, all those variations may lead to discrepant communicative behaviour. Therefore, encouraging member organisations to collaborate and co-create messages towards an advocacy goal is a major challenge. To examine member engagement in an advocacy network, this study scrutinizes the strategic communication activities of an environmental network in Turkey, and reviews their EU-funded campaign named ‘No Pesticides on My Plate’ accordingly. Grounded in the relationship management framework, this paper suggests that the power of relevant public relations strategies and tactics should be taken into account as to ensure the effectiveness of member CSOs’ actions in an advocacy network. Depending on a case study to examine the subject, it demonstrates how interpersonal communication and media tactics may be utilised to achieve member relations goals and finally to pursue social change.

Ante as demandas globais emergentes relacionadas à conservação da natureza e às mudanças climáticas, a cidade do Recife, capital do Estado de Pernambuco, Brasil, vem buscando estratégias para enfrentar tais problemáticas. Entre os projetos em desenvolvimento destaca-se o do Parque Capibaribe que visa promover uma nova forma de experienciar a cidade atrelada à recuperação ambiental e viabilizada pela criação e valorização dos espaços públicos, notadamente aqueles que englobam porções de natureza, e por sua conexão aos fragmentos florestais urbanos, públicos ou privados, formando uma grande rede ambiental. Contudo, um dos grandes desafios estava na seleção de espécies vegetais da Floresta Ombrófila Densa das Terras Baixas, característica do sítio, para compor a Paleta Vegetal do Projeto Parque Capibaribe, por existir uma lacuna referente ao seu emprego no paisagismo. Desta forma, objetiva-se com este artigo, apresentar e discutir o processo da seleção das espécies que compõem esta Paleta Vegetal. Por meio de pesquisa bibliográfica, sobre levantamentos florísticos e fitossociológicos de fragmentos florestais próximos ao Rio Capibaribe, chegou-se a um total de 523 espécies, que posteriormente foram submetidas a critérios relacionados ao uso dos espaços e manutenção, resultando em 194 espécies de diferentes estratos.  Understanding nature in order to design: the Vegetation Palette of the Capibaribe Park Landscape ProjectA B S T R A C TIn the face of emerging global demands concerning nature conservation and climate change, Recife, capital of the State of Pernambuco, Brazil, has been seeking strategies to address these issues. Among the projects under development, the Capibaribe Park Project, which aims to promote a new way of experiencing the city in conjunction with environmental recovery, stands out for its creation and enhancement of public spaces, notably those that include pockets of nature, and their connection to fragments of public or private urban forest, forming a large environmental network. However, one of the major challenges has been the selection of plant species from the Dense Ombrophilous Lowland Forest, characteristic of the locality, to compose the Capibaribe Park Vegetation Palette, since there is a knowledge gap regarding their use in landscaping. The aim of this article is thus to describe the methodological process of selecting the species that make up this vegetation palette, which, through bibliographic research on floristic and phytosociological surveys of forest fragments near the Capibaribe River, reached a total of 523 species. From these, 194 species from different strata were subsequently selected according to space use and maintenance criteria.Keywords: Environmental Recovery, Urban Parks, Urban Sustainability, Landscape, Vegetation.

From February 7 to 10, 2018, due to unfavorable meteorological conditions, a process of air pollution occurred in Hefei and its surrounding areas, and moderate to severe pollution occurred in the municipal districts. Aiming at the pollution process in Hefei City, under the leadership of Hefei Environmental Protection Bureau and with the support of Hefei Environmental Protection Sub-bureau, four fixed observation points were selected to carry out all-weather environmental network monitoring pilot projects in Hefei municipal jurisdiction area. At the same time, a "mobile monitoring vehicle of atmospheric environmental pollution" was arranged to conduct all-weather walking observation to real-time monitor the spatial distribution and three-dimensional space of pollutants in Hefei urban area、inter-transport and space subsidence and diffusion. The RaySound Series Portable high-energy high-frequency lidar was used in the environmental networking monitoring in Hefei. The air quality in the observation area was evaluated comprehensively by using the mode of fixed vertical monitoring, plane scanning monitoring and mobile walking monitoring.

Networks of nongovernmental organizations dedicated to socio-environmental issues have emerged in recent decades. The involvement of these networks in the international sphere has enabled new approaches to international cooperation. This article introduces the concept of international cooperation and the Global Alliance for Recycling and Sustainable Development (GARSD), a socio-environmental network created by a coalition of NGOs dedicated to promoting recycling of municipal solid waste. This article is the result of a doctoral study conducted using documentary analysis, participant observation and other qualitative data collection methods.  The study conclusively finds that it is neessary to analyze the work of these non-state actors within the context of international cooperation between nation states and the possibility of (re)creating political-territorial arrangements, such as networks comprising a variety of actors especially geared towards socio-environmental issues.

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to offer a comprehensive overview of challenges and risks of the Internet of Things (IoT) in supply chain management (SCM) and provide a structured framework for classifying and analyzing the relevant literature to deduce insights for research and practice.Design/methodology/approachA systematic literature review (SLR) of 102 peer-reviewed journal articles on the topic of IoT in SCM was conducted.FindingsThis review identifies, categorizes and describes the relevant literature regarding the dimensions time and specificity. The resulting framework contains a holistic overview including focus areas and relations of macro-environmental, network-related and organizational challenges and risks. Furthermore, this review represents a conceptual framework for future research, considering the multidisciplinary body of the subject and provides an analysis of the timeline of literature, journals and used methodologies.Practical implicationsThis study offers valuable insights into IoT and its impact on applications, processes and the structure of organizations and supply chains (SCs). The identification of challenges and risks helps to prepare for changes in the future because of the disruptive nature of this technology.Originality/valueThe originality of this paper lies in the synthesis of the fragmented body of literature of IoT challenges and risks for SCM. The derived framework and identification of relations and research gaps provide the foundation for further research to evaluate the relations between challenges and risks and offer solutions.

The sanitary bin and warnings such as ‘Do Not Flush Feminine Products!’ have become a feature of women’s public bathrooms throughout Britain. Begun in the 1950s by family-owned companies such as Personnel Hygiene Services and Cannon Hygiene, and developed into large corporate systems, these items and their cleaning structures have expanded into nearly every university, hospital, office, café, school and gym in the country. This article examines the three historical phases of sanitary bin technology and its meanings. First, the pioneering phase when the bin was needed to tackle the problems of flushing menstrual products and unpopular incinerators, and was developed and popularised by creative entrepreneurs. Second, the environmental phase when campaigners, especially the Women’s Environmental Network, boosted the industry as they called for more regulations regarding menstrual product waste in the 1970s and 1980s, leading to the popularisation of the bin exchange and cleaning services now commonplace throughout the UK. Third, the high-tech phase of the 2000s, when the industry sought to reinvent the object by adding no-touch technology, more chemicals and aesthetic innovations. This article thus presents the sanitary bin in its historical context for the first time, and argues that it reveals changing attitudes towards menstruation, the environment and bathroom politics.
