This computational work was performed to investigate drug delivery of 5-fluorouracil (FU) anti-cancer by assistance of an iron(Fe)-modified graphene (G) scaffold. The models were optimized to reach the minimized energy structures in both of singular and bimolecular models. Two models of FU@G complex were obtained including O2@G and O4@G by relaxation of FU through O2 and O4 atoms towards the Fe-atom region of G surface. The obtained results of energies indicated a higher stability and strength for the O2@G model in comparison with the O4@G model. The quantitative and qualitative features of electronic molecular orbitals indicated the investigated G surface could work as a carrier of FU by reducing the unwanted side effects and also playing the sensor role. As a final remark of this work, the investigated G model could be proposed for employing in the targeted drug delivery of FU in both of carrier and sensor agents.

In Pope Saint John XXIII’s Encyclical Mater et Magistra (May 15, 1961), the Holy Father sought to apply the Church’s social doctrine to numerous situations of the times, among them the issue of the common good. This paper first anchors the encyclical within the larger frame of world history at the time in which it was written, and then offers a brief overview of Mater et Magistra. In light of two specific themes in the encyclical, the individual person and socialization, a final remark highlights the notion of the common good.

Consumer behaviour is one of the basic factors precisely analysed by major companies to identify the main requirements, needs, desires and trends in people’s consumption habits and to generate profit. Do these occur when consumers’ financial resources are limited and whether consumer habits are changing according to their financial availability? In this study, the impact of discounts on people’s buying behaviour, especially during the product’s expiration when it is sold with only 50% of the initial price was analysed. An online quantitative research was carried out with a sample of 160 respondents concluding that most of the consumers bought 50% less products even if they are not on their shopping list, most of the time there was only the illusion of an economy, not the saving itself. As a final remark, people are very sensitive when it comes to discounts changing the mindset of individuals who usually waste money for useless amounts of food and other products. Keywords: Happy money, discount, consumer behaviour, quantitative research.

Extremely heavy oversized transport is considered in the paper. Such oversized loads appears occasionally along the road network due to the restrictions of load capacity of bridges. The results of the analyses involved in the paper shows that old bridges as well as new ones are not adapted to such oversized loads. The strengthening or reconstructions of structural ele-ments are required as presented in the paper. The final remark refers to the administrative un-derstanding of the load capacity of the bridge which is based on the total weight of a vehicle. Such approach of the load capacity is not precise.
