In Isaiah 62:5, there are three major translations of who will marry ‘you’ or ‘Zion’ based on the immediate context (Is 62:1). Firstly, the most common reading is ‘your sons’ (Amplified Bible [AB], American Standard Version [ASV], Berean Study Bible [BSB], Catholic Public Domain Version [CPDV], Douay-Rheims Bible [DRB], English Standard Version [ESV], King James Version [KJV], New International Version [NIV], New American Standard Bible [NASB], Smith’s Literal Translation [SLT], World English Bible [WEB]). Secondly, the scholars reading preference is ‘your builder’, which refers to ‘God’ based on Psalms 147:2. This reading is adopted by Coverdale Bible of 1535, New Revised Standard Version (NRSV) and Good New Bible (GNT). Lastly, although the translation ‘builders’ is the least favourable reading, LSV and YLT use this reading. This research, therefore, attempts to argue for ‘your sons’ translation as the original reading through textual criticism as the methodology.Intradisciplinary and/or interdisciplinary implications: This article is a combination of textual criticism studies with translations.

At present, the enthusiasm of users to score actively in mobile information recommendation system is generally poor. Moreover, the existing research works rarely start with the analysis of fine-grained reading behaviors of mobile terminal users, but mostly based on the analysis of reading content and the improvement of model. It is difficult to find out the objective, short-term and local behavioral preferences of users. To solve the above problems, we propose six kinds of explicit fine-grained reading behaviors and integrate them into the user reading interest model to form the SVR-ALL model. The effectiveness of these six fine-grained behaviors is verified by ablative experiments. On the basis of SVR-ALL model, four implicit fine-grained reading behaviors are further mined by considering the difference of user reading habits, and then propose the user reading preference model called F-AFC. The updating mechanism for user preference designed in F-AFC can fully reflect the changes of users’ reading habits in different periods. Experiments show that the accuracy of the user interest model considering user’s reading preference and its update can be improved to some extent.

This study aims to determine the students’ reading preference and its implications of three English Education Departments in Jember. Getting learners’ full attention in the learning process is very important, because the ability to read is one element of language competences that always needs to be elevated. However, reading material usually becomes the biggest obstacle for the lecturer to engage students’ full interest to the course. This study involved 273 students of three English Education Departments in Jember as research objects. Survey and interview methods were used to obtain the data. The research findings show that English Education Department students mostly interested to reading materials about entertainment and lifestyle, arts, religious, education and historical theme, and they avoid reading political and sport. Based on these findings, the suggestion for lecturers who specialize in the subjects related to reading activities is they should be able to present the teaching materials with themes favored by students in order to improve students’ reading motivation.

The result of the study is to access the influence of print and digital media among the engineering students and other disciplines of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore. For the purpose of data collection, questionnaires were distributed among 250 students of the University. The findings reveal that more students are digitally literate and engaged with both print and electronic media. The study realized the convenience of online reading to print media. Students are found engaged to online media more. One of the significant finding of the study is that students prefer print sources to comprehend better than from online media. Email and internet browsing were the most preferred services used every day by the majority of respondents. Majority of the users had laptop and smartphones for internet access. Regular evaluation and assessment have to be conducted to determine whether the print media and digital resources are effectively used by the students and also to find their changing needs. The study makes stress on the value of the printed word for learning and academic development.

Background: Coding guidelines can be contradictory despite their intention of providing a universal perspective on source code quality. For instance, five attributes (code size, semantic complexity, internal documentation, layout style, and identifier length) out of 13 presented contradictions regarding their influence (positive or negative) on the source code readability and comprehensibility. Aims: To investigate source code attributes and their influence on readability and comprehensibility. Method: A literature review was used to identify source code attributes impacting the source code reading and comprehension, and an empirical study was performed to support the assessment of four attributes that presented empirical contradictions in the technical literature. Results: Regardless participants’ experience; all participants showed more positive comprehensibility perceptions for Python snippets with more lines of code. However, their readability perceptions regarding code size were contradictory. The less experienced participants preferred more lines of code while the more experienced ones preferred fewer lines of code. Long and complete-word identifiers presented better readability and comprehensibility according to both novices and experts. Comments contribute to better comprehension. Furthermore, four indentation spaces dominated the code reading preference. Conclusions: Coding guidelines contradictions still demand further investigation to provide indications on possible confounding factors explaining some of the inconclusive results.
