Once it became clear that inflammation takes place in the modulation of different degenerative disease including neurodegenerative, cardiovascular, diabetes and cancer the researchers has started intensive programs evaluating potential role of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) in the prevention or therapy of these diseases. This review discusses the novel mechanism of action of NSAIDs and its potential use in the pharmacotherapy of neurodegenerative, cardiovascular, diabetes and cancer diseases. Many different molecular and cellular factors which are not yet fully understood play an important role in the pathogenesis of inflammation, axonal damage, demyelination, atherosclerosis, carcinogenesis thus further NSAID studies for a new potential indications based on precise pharmacotherapy model are warranted since NSAIDs are a heterogeneous group of medicines with relative different pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics profiles. Hopefully the new data from studies will fill in the gap between experimental and clinical results and translate our knowledge into successful disease therapy.

This chapter develops the specific demands of liberal non-domination. It argues that they cover protection against dominatory groups as well as against power relations which are not mediated by authority, or otherwise public; demonstrates how different choices, such as those falling under the basic liberties, connected to intimate personal relationships, or at stake in resource-intensive programs and policies to enhance life options, call for different thresholds of intensity of protection; and how protection must itself be appropriately respectful of people’s moral agency. It goes on to show how the resulting requirements give a wide policy mandate to combat domination not only through formal institutions, but also by fostering a societal ethos and informal social norms, and argues that liberals should not be worried by this wide mandate. It concludes by analysing in which ways demands of protection against domination can, and cannot, be understood as distributive demands.

Sustainability of learning environments is a key pillar of all societal development frameworks. A variety of research address the development of education as a fine balanced relation between flexibility, adaptability, innovation, and efficient resource allocation. The main limitation of current approaches is the lack of correlation between various efficiency analyses and budget expenditure of learning environments. The current research aims at undertaking a comparative evaluation of a sustainable framework in STEM intensive programs for secondary and tertiary education. This was done using several established methods like the Plan, Do, Check, Act cycle for the development main framework, the Analytic Hierarchy Process for efficiency evaluation and Value Analysis for budget expenditure allocations and improvement identification. The main framework is based on learning objectives defined in accordance with Blooms’ revised taxonomy and student feedback was collected through surveys and group feedback. The main results of the study show that the framework had overall efficiencies over the 80% threshold in both secondary and tertiary education, whilst some of the components scored under 65%, identifying immediate improvement features. Further research involves the transition to an online and mixed teaching environment, by adapting the content and framework structure with the aid of smart learning environments.

BACKGROUND: Preschool children with autism in southern Sweden participated in a comprehensive Naturalistic Developmental Behavioral Intervention (NDBI) program. AIMS: To evaluate the ongoing NDBI program by comparing the pre- and postintervention outcomes in terms of improved autism symptom severity. METHOD: The improvement of Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-R) test results between baseline and evaluation among children participating in the NDBI program ( n = 67) was compared with the results among children receiving community treatment as usual ( n = 27) using analysis of covariance. RESULTS: The study showed that children in the NDBI group improved their ADOS-R total scores between baseline and evaluation (−0.8 scores per year; 95% CI [−1.2, −0.4]), whereas no improvement was detected in the comparison group (+0.1 scores per year; 95% CI [−0.7, +0.9]). The change in the NDBI group versus the change in the comparison group was statistically significant after adjusting for possible confounders as well. Children in the NDBI group also significantly improved their ADOS severity scores, but the scores were not significantly different from those of the comparison group. CONCLUSIONS: The results from the current naturalistic study must be interpreted cautiously, but they do support earlier studies reporting on improvement of autism symptoms after early intensive interventions. Results from observational studies are difficult to interpret, but it is nevertheless of uttermost importance to evaluate costly autism intervention programs. The results do indicate that children with autism benefit from participating in early comprehensive intensive programs.

The following chapter presents the views of students who participated in the International Project Entrepreneurship and Communication in Multicultural Teams (ECMT+) within Erasmus+. The chapter focuses on the comparison of outcomes related to participants' self-reflective evaluation in the form of a self-reflective diary and an interview in two rounds of the ECMT Intensive Programs held in Wildau, Germany, in 2018 and in Roanne, France, in 2019. The goal of the chapter is to make contributions to university curricula development in terms of introducing “learning by doing” related to the selected topics identified by the Intensive Programs participants within the post-evaluation of the project. Comparing the reflection expressed in self-reflective diaries in 2018 and 2019, in the latter, it can be observed that the students are able to analyze their attitudes and reflections in a more complex way than in the former one.

Indonesia Government from the outset emphasized the importance of implementing labor-intensive programs using local village human resources. This program should be carried out as much as possible by the local villagers themselves and not by using the contractors because it would conflict with the principle of opening employment opportunities for its citizens. One of the programs is implemented in Pasir Mulya Village. Some improvements to the village facilities that will be carried out are the construction of cultural buildings, slopes stability improvement, and road improvement. Base on preliminary study, it was obtained the importance of equipping villagers who involved in the project with project management techniques such as budget planning techniques, leading and motivating a project team, the importance of teamwork and communication in a team. By conducting project management and team-building training, infrastructure development by local villagers can run effectively.
