Objective: The birth of cosmetics forms an incessant narrative throughout the past of man as they developed. The present study aimed to formulate polyherbal hair oil using various efficient herbs. Methods: Hair oil formulation of Cocos nucifera (oil), Ricinus communis (oil), Brassica juncea (oil), Trigonella foenum-graecum (Seeds), Murraya koenigii (Leaf), Hibiscus rosa-sinensis (Flowers), Nigella sativa (seeds), and Cinnamomum camphora in the form of polyherbal oil using boiling method. These ingredients are rich in various phytochemicals, vitamins, proteins, antioxidants, and so many other constituents which are important for the growth and rejuvenation of the hair cycle. Evaluation of hair oil carries out by various parameters such as sensitivity test, acid value, saponification value, phytochemical screening, pH, specific gravity, viscosity, and irritation test. Results: All the values of evaluation are within the acceptable limit. As compared to market formulations, this herbal oil having minimal or zero adverse effects. Conclusion: It is concluded that formulated hair oil boost hair growth, decrease hair fall, dandruff, gray hair, and gives lustrous and shiny hairs.

Indonesia is a country which has a diversity of flora and fauna. One of the endemic faunas of Indonesia is the Javan Gibbon. The Javan Gibbon (Hylobates Moloch) is a species of small ape without a tail with long arms, gray hair, and a distinctive voice. The Javan gibbon is an animal that is startining become endangered animal and almost extinct so that the IUCN Redlist has categorized as an  "endangered" or threatened extinct. Javan Gibbons are the source of ideas for creating ready-to-wear, ready-to-wear deluxe and haute couture clothing which are implemented with metaphorical theory based on selected keywords, namely diurnal, arboreal, monogamous, territorial, sound, long sleeves, attracting attention and art of beat. The foundation of this fashion creation is using the method of. Tjok Istri Ratna Cora Sudharsana, namely Frangipani. “FRANGIPANI, The Secret Steps of Art Fashion” which consists of ten stages in the process of crafty fashion designs. The result of this creation is expected to be able to introduce to many people that Indonesia has the Javan Gibbon as an endemic animal of Indonesia that must be preserved in order that it does not become extinct.

This study aimed at reviewing the importance of medicinal plants for the treatment of common hair problems such as baldness, alopecis hair fall, gray hair, dryness and most comman drandruff. The various herbal ingredient are used in the formation are Aloe, Amla, Curry leaves, Camphore, Coconut oil, Eclipta alba, Hibiscus, Heena, Neem, Fenugreek, Sage, Apamarg, Onion, grape seeds, Jatamanshi, Rosamary, Thyme, Tulsi, Garlic and Neem. All ingredients provide essential nutrients such as Vitamin, terpenoids and many essential oils to maintain normal function of sebaceous gland and overall care of skin and hair.

BACKGROUND: Gray hair is a physiological process of aging that occurs in everyone. Premature hair graying (PHG) is the term when early hair gray at an unusual age. The causes of PHG are multifactorial, genetic, nutritional, and environmental, including oxidative stress. Free radicals caused interference with cellular responses that cause direct damage to various proteins and DNA in the long term. The body’s defense mechanisms likely antioxidant enzymes, including catalase, glutathione peroxidase (GPx), and superoxide dismutase (SOD) was activated against free radicals. AIM: We aimed to evaluate markers of oxidative stress and associated with severe graying at young age. MATERIALS AND METHODS: We recruited consecutive 40 respondents with PHG and healthy controls, male sex and aged <25 years. The severe graying was graded with total of gray hair. The serum samples were collected to detect oxidative stress markers through malondialdehyde (MDA), SOD, catalase, and GPx measurement with enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. RESULTS: Serum MDA concentration was higher but not significantly (p > 0.05), while serum SOD, catalase, and GPx level, indicators of antioxidant were significantly lower (p < 0.001, p = 0.017 and p < 0.001, respectively) in PHG compared to controls. The correlation between oxidative stress and graying severity was not significant (p > 0.05), but the association between onset and severity of graying was significant (p < 0.001). CONCLUSIONS: Respondents with PHG had increased of pro-oxidants and decreased of antioxidants compared than controls. The severity of graying is equivalent to the level of oxidative stress. The supplement of antioxidants is likely recommended in PHG.

Benolea® (EFLA®943) is a standardized dry olive leaf extract (DOLE) considered safe for food consumption and has demonstrated superior pharmaceutical benefits such as antioxidant, anti-obesity, and anti-hypertensive activities. However, there is no study on its effects on melanogenesis yet. Disruption in the sequence of steps in melanogenesis can lead to hypopigmentary disorders which occur due to reduced production or export of pigment melanin in the skin. There is a need for safe and nontoxic therapeutics for the treatment of hypopigmentation disorders. Herein, we studied the effects of DOLE over a concentration range of 10–200 µg/mL on melanin synthesis and melanin secretion in B16F10 mouse melanoma cells and MNT-1 human melanoma cells and validated our results in primary human melanocytes (obtained from lightly pigmented (LP) and moderately pigmented (MP) cells) as well as their cocultures with keratinocytes. The capacity of melanocytes to export melanosomes was also estimated indirectly by the quantitation of melanocyte dendrite lengths and numbers. Our results show that DOLE significantly enhanced levels of extracellular melanin in the absence of effects on intracellular melanin, demonstrating that this plant extract’s pro-melanogenic activity is primarily based on its capacity to augment melanin secretion and stimulate melanocyte dendricity. In summary, our preliminary results demonstrate that DOLE may hold promise as a pro-pigmenting agent for vitiligo therapy and gray hair treatment by its exclusive and novel mechanism of functioning as a dendrite elongator. Further studies to elucidate the mechanisms of action of the pro-melanogenic activity and effects of DOLE on melanosome export as well as the last steps of melanogenesis are warranted.
