Place and duration of study: This study was conducted at the Department of Pathology and Surgery, Post Graduate Medical Institute Lahore and Jinnah Medical College Peshawar from July, 2013 to February, 2015 Methodology: Surgical specimens of 60 histopathologically diagnosed cases of colorectal adenocarcinoma were included in this study. Age and sex were evaluated in CRC. Results: The mean±sd of age was 54.4±19.7 yrs. Out of 60 cases, 6 (10%) were between 16-29 yrs, 9 (15%) cases were between 30-49 yrs, 34 cases (56.7%) were of 50-69 yrs and 11 cases (18.33%) were of 70 yrs. Out of sixty cases, males were 33 (55%) and females were 27(45%). Conclusion: There are 34 out of 60(56.7%) patients were 50-69 years and 33 out of 60 (55%) cases were males i.e. males dominance. Keywords: Colorectal adenocarcinoma, immunohistochemistry, gender

The emerging role of technology raises several management challenges. Beyond the ability to develop new tools and solutions, achieving the business goals on new technologies require capable users on the other side. Understanding the factors of technology acceptance has been appreciated in recent decades. The paper aims to explore the approach to technology by using the adoption propensity (TAP) index among Hungarian business students. Gender, study level, and work experience were applied as grouping factors. A voluntary online survey was used for data collection. Based on 345 responses, the results are engaging and progressive. Many of the students have an optimistic approach to new technologies, and a significant part of them shows higher than medium-level proficiency. Parallelly, fear from vulnerability is remarkable among the respondents, which suggests cautious behavior. Gender and study level show significant differences within the sample, but no difference is found based on work experience. The results can be used to evaluate technology adoption readiness or generally support action research in developing industrial technologies.

The article attempts to analyze the concept of gender, study philosophical preconditions of its emergence and trace the main postmodern aspects of the gender category. It proves that gender research in the postmodern era is not identical to the theories of feminism. It deals with social life of both sexes, their behavior, roles, characteristics, common and different between them, the social relationships of the sexes, considering the world from the standpoint of both socio-gender groups. The article shows that an urgent need for more purposeful development of independent women's research in the developing countries. Such research should holistically reflect and study the lives of women on the basis of the so-called women's rather than universalized man experience. The main idea of this scientific research was to emphasize that the world can be explored not only from a man perspective, but also from the standpoint of woman experience. The level of scientific study of the gender conceptual sphere is clarified, in particular, the gender concept is a multidimensional complex represented in the language, which has a certain ethnocultural specificity. The concept has an unstable structure, which is reflected in the model of the concept developed by us, in which we highlight the root and applications of the concept, the possible movement of features in the relevant semantic directions from and to the root. The unstable (mobile) structure of the concept is also characteristic of its root: during historical development, the root may change, but the semantic meaning is not lost, but only replaced by synonyms or verbal innovations relevant to today.

Abstract Background: Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) in males is rare and poorly understood. Thus, still little is known about gender differences in SLE. We set out to identify gender differences regarding clinical manifestations as well as renal and cardiovascular outcomes of SLE. Methods: We analyzed patient data from the Swiss SLE Cohort Study. Cumulative clinical manifestations according to the updated American College of Rheumatology criteria were recorded at inclusion. Cardiovascular events were recorded within Systemic Lupus International Collaborating Clinics/American College of Rheumatology Damage Index (SLICC-SDI). Renal failure was defined as eGFR<15 ml/min/1.73m2, initiation of renal replacement therapy or doubling of serum creatinine which were all assessed yearly or documented as end stage renal disease in SLICC-SDI. Risk differences were calculated using logistic regression and cox regression models. Results: We analyzed 93 men and 529 women with a median follow up time of 2 years. Males were significantly older at diagnosis (44.4 versus 33.1 years, p<0.001) and had less often arthritis (57% versus 74%, p=0.001) and dermatological disorders (61% versus 76%, p<0.01). In multivariate analysis female gender remained a significantly associated with arthritis and dermatological disorders. After adjusting for age, disease duration, ethnicity, time to diagnosis, medication and eGFR and SELENA SLEDAI at inclusion men had a significantly higher hazard ratio of 2.5 for renal failure (95% confidence interval (95%-CI) 1.1-6.0, p<0.04). Total SLICC-SDI Score was comparable. Men had significantly more coronary artery disease (CAD) (17% versus 4%, p<0.001) and myocardial infarction (10% versus 2%, p<0.01). In multivariate analysis, male gender remained a significant risk factor for CAD (odds ratio (OR) 5.6, 95%-CI 2.3-13.7, p<0.001) and myocardial infarction (OR 8.3, 95%-CI 2.1-32.6, p=0.002).Conclusion: This first gender study in a western European population demonstrates significant gender differences in SLE. Male gender is an independent risk factor for cardiovascular events and renal failure in SLE. Potential etiological pathomechanisms such as hormonal or X-chromosomal factors remain to be further investigated.
