The half-power bandwidth method is usually used to calculate structural damping parameters by frequency response function (FRF). In this note, the half-power bandwidth methods for the displacement FRF, the velocity FRF, and the acceleration FRF are proposed based on viscous and hysteretic damping models, respectively. Comparison results show that the application conditions of half-power bandwidth methods for the displacement and acceleration FRFs are limited. They can only be used to calculate the small damping ratio/loss factor. The application condition of half-power bandwidth method for the velocity FRF is not limited. It can be used to calculate the large or small damping ratio/loss factor, which should be the first choice for calculating damping parameters. Besides, when the damping ratio is less than 0.2546 or the loss factor is less than 0.5658, the relative difference between the loss factor and twice the damping ratio is less than 10%. With the increase of the damping ratio or loss factor, the relative difference will increase rapidly, and the approximate relationship is no longer applicable.

Selenium (Se)-enriched vegetables are promising dietary sources of Se, which provides beneficial biological effects in humans. In this study, we investigated the effects of foliar application of Se on hydroponically grown multi-leaf green (V1) and red (V2) lettuce plants. Three selenate (SeIV) amendment levels were evaluated for their influence on plant growth, elemental composition and radical scavenging capacity. Lettuce heads biofortified with 0.598 mg Se plant−1 accumulated 19.6–23.6 and 14.9–17.6 μg Se g−1 DM in the multi-leaf green (V1) and red (V2) lettuce plants, respectively. The accumulated Se levels can contribute significantly to the recommended dietary allowance of 70 µg day−1 for adult men and 60 µg day−1 for adult women. Accordingly, both V1 and V2 lettuce cultivars grown under the Se3 foliar application condition can cover the daily requirement for adult men by approximately 100% and 85% to 100%, respectively, by consuming 75–90 g or 100 g fresh weight from V1 or V2, respectively. The ABTS radical scavenging potential of green lettuce was induced at Se2 and Se3 foliar application levels, where the IC50 was 1.124 ± 0.09 μg mL−1 at Se0 and improved to 0.795 ± 0.03 and 0.697 ± 0.01 μg mL−1, respectively. There was no cytotoxicity against Vero kidney cells among all treated lettuce plants at the highest concentration tested of 1 mg/mL. Finally, a further focused investigation of the metabolic profile of lettuce plants under varied Se levels needs to be investigated in future studies.

To reduce the time of simulation for rotating Eddy current testing (RECT) technique, a simplified model without modeling probe was proposed previously. However, the applicability of the simplified simulation model was unknown. In this paper, the applicability of the simplified model for the RECT technique was investigated. The application condition of the simplified model was provided by comparing it with the results of the traditional simulation model. The simplified model was suitable for the study of cracks shorter than 70% size of the uniform Eddy current induced by the probe in a traditional model or experiment. The experiment was conducted to validate the simplified model. Moreover, using the simplified model, the effects of crack depth, orientation, and exciting frequency were studied. The deeper the crack depth was, the greater peak value of [Formula: see text] signal was. The crack angle was linear with the phase of signal. The exciting frequency affected the amplitude and phase of the signal at the same time.

Abstract The main objective of this paper is to investigate the condition monitoring based on electric signature analysis for electric submersible pumps (ESPs) as introduced in our previous paper, SPE-201169-MS. While an ESP core physical concept is similar to other rotary electric machinery, they have unique features which make their selection, installation and operation different than typical rotating equipment applications. For the purpose of this study, a scale-down ESP system and flow loop was utilized to replicate an actual ESP application. Condition monitoring of the ESP was completed with mechanically and electrically induced vibrations and compare the results vis-à-vis those obtained by a common vibration analysis method. Furthermore, by running the ESP at various operation points, we show how the mechanical and electrical efficiency of the pump, induction motor and variable frequency drive are intertwined. This observation may suggest an interesting insight for further discussion on ESP optimization.

This paper theoretically investigates the asymptotic properties of maximum likelihood estimates of GaGLM, and discusses some properties about Gamma distribution. It can provide theoretical foundation for expanding the application scope of gamma distribution based regression model, and benefit the further interval estimates, hypothesis tests and stochastic control design. The existence of the Gamma function in Gamma distribution makes correlation analysis certain specificity, and few researchers do relevant theoretical research. To complement this part, we established the asymptotic properties and the application condition of maximum likelihood estimates of GaGLM. In addition to this, we also discussed the propertis of the Fisher information matrix ,and n-order moment of Z and log(Z).

This article analyses researches of the effectiveness of exclusive pedestrian phases and diagonal pedestrian crossings. The conditions for effective use of exclusive pedestrian phases and diagonal pedestrian crossings, as well as the traffic and pedestrians` conflicting volumes require clarification based on special research data, the relevance of which is obvious.
