The main principles of hydroabrasive wear of parts of the pumping stages of well’s electric submersible pumps are considered in this article. The concentration, grain-size distribution and shape of solid particles have the greatest impact on the abrasion ability of particles of mechanical impurities interacting with the parts of pumping equipment. The implementation of filters is the most effective and affordable way to protect borehole electric submersible pumps from hydroabrasive wear. Filters reduce the concentration and decrease the average grain-size of mechanical impurities going through the pumping stages. The authors propose variants of constructive and schematic solutions of self-cleaning slot filters, providing an increase in the operating time of electric centrifugal pump units during production of well fluid with a high content of mechanical impurities. The operating principle of the proposed filters is described. The results of calculations of deformation of tubing string during the increase in pressure at the oil wellhead are presented, confirming the possibility of restoring the permeability of spring filter elements without lifting the pump unit to the surface.

It is shown that the set of data on the loss of wall thickness when determining the magnitude of hydroabrasive wear is a multipeak curve. An attempt was made to determine the amount of wear in accordance with the requirements of ISO 6133 "Analysis of multipeak traces". It has been shown that this treatment reveals higher wear values than those applied according to EN 295-3.

Composite Material Research (elastomers) based on liquid isoprene rubber with oxazolidinones -carbanate isocyanate heterochains polar blocks with increased physical and mechanical technical properties are presented in the article.. The developed elastomeric materials have a complex of high physical and mechanical characteristics, are resistant to solutions of mineral acids and alkalis, have shown high resistance to abrasive and hydroabrasive wear, and can also be used to protect technological equipment from the influence of aggressive solutions in the chemical, mining, and hydrometallurgical industries as sealants, protective coatings, structural products, etc.

The work presented in this paper is devoted to the formation of thick-layer wear-resistant coatings by technologies based on electrospark alloying, an example of essential components hardening for the heavy-duty processing equipment operating under hydroabrasive wear conditions. The aim of the paper is to improve the manufacturing and repairing technologies for the helical surfaces of the screws made of 65Г, 30X13 and 40X steels and corrosion-resistant stainless steel 12X18H10T. The above aim has been achieved owing to applying the new environmentally friendly technologies for the formation of the surface layers, and also due to the choice of the surface layers that are most resistant against hydroabrasive wear, which choice being provided for by conducting the comparative tests on the samples made of the above said steel grades and strengthened in various ways. The analysis results of the hydroabrasive wear resistance of the samples made of steel and provided with protective coatings is presented.

The northern part of the territory of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) is rich in vast deposits of diamonds. These deposits are developed by the mining company “Almazy Anabara”, which is engaged in the extraction of diamonds at seasonal processing plants using various technological equipment. One of the key types of equipment is the pulp pump of a foreign company “KETO”. The work of pulp pumps of this company in the enrichment of diamond-containing raw materials is accompanied by intensive hydroabrasive wear of their impellers, the service life of which usually does not exceed three months. In practice, untimely replacement of a worn impeller can lead to emergency breakdowns of sealing elements and bearings, which is explained by super-permissible deflections of the shaft of pumping equipment arising from a significant unbalance of the rotor. The main cause of breakdown of slurry pumps at “Almazy Anabara” seasonal processing plants is the inability to quickly identify their ultimate technical condition, the key sign of which is the maximum wear of the impeller. The seasonal beneficiation plants of “Almazy Anabara” currently need a simple and at the same time reliable diagnostic sign of pulp pumps reaching their ultimate technical state, the identification of which can be quickly performed without disassembling and using complex equipment, which is very important when operating pumping equipment in short wash season on the Far North.

An important issue in the processes of strengthening and restoration of surfaces exposed to abrasive, abrasive-corrosive and hydroabrasive wear, using the process of self-protective flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), is to increase the productivity of hardfacing and the quality of the hardfacing metal. The literature review showed that one of the ways to increase the productivity of hardfacing and improve the quality of the hardfaced metal is to add an exothermic mixture to the core filler of flux-cored wire electrode. The effect of composition of filler core during FCAW on the fusion parameters, namely the addition of exothermic mixture (TM), the ratio of exothermic mixture components (CuO/Al), and the ratio of exothermic mixture oxidant to carbon content in the core composition (CuO/C) has been studied. It has been found that the optimum areas for the deposition rate (Gd), deposition factor (ad) and spattering factor (ψs) are observed for the following values of the core components: TM = 25…39, CuO/C = 5…6, CuO/Al = 3…4.
