The bionic cilium MEMS vector hydrophone has the characteristics of low power consumption, small volume, and good low-frequency response. Nevertheless, there exists the problem of left–right ambiguity in the azimuth estimation of a single hydrophone. In order to solve the engineering application problem, a sound-pressure sound-pressure-gradient hydrophone is designed in this paper. The new composite hydrophone consists of two channels. The bionic cilium microstructure is optimized and used as the vector channel, to collect the sound pressure gradient information, and a scalar channel, based on a piezoelectric ceramic tube, is added, to receive the sound pressure information. The theoretical analysis, simulation analysis, and test analysis of the composite hydrophone are carried out, respectively. The test results show that the sensitivities of the hydrophone can reach up to −188 dB (vector channel) and −204 dB (scalar channel). The problem of left–right ambiguity is solved by combining the sound pressure and sound pressure gradient in different ways. This is of great significance in the engineering application of single cilium MEMS hydrophone orientation.

<div>Polarization-adjusted convolutional (PAC) codes are special concatenated codes in which we employ a one-to-one convolutional transform as a pre-coding step before the polar transform. In this scheme, the polar transform (as a mapper) and the successive cancellation process (as a demapper) present a synthetic vector channel to the convolutional transformation. Also, we analyze the latency of the local sorting of the paths in LVA relative to the global sorting in the list decoding and the trade-off between the sorting latency and the error correction performance.</div>

AbstractThe confinement/deconfinement transition described the Polyakov–Nambu–Jona–Lasinio (PNJL) model is extended to be operative at zero temperature regime. In this study, the scalar and vector channel interaction strengths of the original PNJL model are modified by introducing a dependence on the traced Polyakov loop. In such a way the effective interactions depend on the quark phase and in turn provides a backreaction of the quarks to the gluonic sector, also at zero temperature. On general grounds from quantum chromodynamics this is an expected feature. The thermodynamics of the extended model (PNJL0) is studied in detail. It presents along with a suitable choice of the Polyakov potential, a first order confined/deconfined quark phase transition even at $$T=0$$ T = 0 . We also show that the vector channel plays an important role in order to allow $$\varPhi \ne 0$$ Φ ≠ 0 solutions for the PNJL0 model. Furthermore, the sensitivity of the combined quarkyonic and deconfinement phases to the vector interaction strength and the proposed parametrization of the Polyakov-loop potential at $$T=0$$ T = 0 allowed to set a window for the bulk values of the relevant parameters.

In the extended Nambu–Jona-Lasinio model, the branching fraction of [Formula: see text] is calculated. The contributions from the contact diagram and the diagrams with intermediate axial-vector, vector and pseudoscalar mesons in the ground and first radially excited states are taken into account. It is shown that an axial-vector and vector channel with a contact diagram give a dominant contribution to the branching fraction. The obtained results for the branching fraction [Formula: see text] are in satisfactory agreement with experimental data. A prediction for the differential distribution over the invariant mass of the meson pair [Formula: see text] is given.

In this work, we strive to gain insight into thermal modifications of charmonium and bottomonium bound states as well as the heavy quark diffusion coefficient. The desired information is contained in the spectral function which can not be calculated on the lattice directly. Instead, the correlator given by an integration over the spectral function times an integration kernel is obtained. Extracting the spectral function is an ill-posed inversion problem and various different solutions have been proposed. We focus on a comparison to a spectral function obtained from combining perturbative and pNRQCD calculations. In order to get precise results, continuum extrapolated correlators originating from large and fine lattices are used. We first analyze the pseudoscalar channel since the absence of a transport peak simplifies the analysis. The knowledge gained from this is then used to extend the analysis to the vector channel, where information on heavy quark transport is encoded in the low frequency regime of the spectral function. The comparison shows a qualitatively good agreement between perturbative and lattice correlators. Quantitative differences can be explained by systematic uncertainties.
