Interleukin-1α (IL-1α) is a major alarmin cytokine which triggers and boosts the inflammatory responses. Since its discovery in the 1940s, the structure and bioactivity of IL-1α has been extensively studied and emerged as a vital regulator in inflammation and hematopoiesis. IL-1α is translated as a pro-form with minor bioactivity. The pro-IL-1α can be cleaved by several proteases to generate the N terminal and C terminal form of IL-1α. The C terminal form of IL-1α (mature form) has several folds higher bioactivity compared with its pro-form. IL-1α is a unique cytokine which could localize in the cytosol, membrane, nucleus, as well as being secreted out of the cell. However, the processing mechanism and physiological significance of these differentially localized IL-1α are still largely unknown. Accumulating evidence suggests IL-1α is involved in cancer pathogenesis. The role of IL-1α in cancer development is controversial as it exerts both pro- and anti-tumor roles in different cancer types. Here, we review the recent development in the processing and signaling of IL-1α and summarize the functions of IL-1α in cancer development.

An object shape analysis is a problem that is related to such areas as geometry, topology, image processing and machine learning. For analyzing the form, the deformation between the source and terminal form of the object is estimated. The most used form analysis model is the Large Deformation Diffeomorphic Metric Mapping (LDDMM) model. The LDDMM model can be supplemented with functional non-geometric information about objects (volume, color, formation time). The paper considers algorithms for constructing sets of barcodes for comparing diffeomorphic images, which are real values taken by persistent homology. A distinctive feature of the use of persistent homology with respect to methods of algebraic topology is to obtain more information about the shape of the object. An important direction of the application of persistent homology is the study invariants of big data. A method based on persistent cohomology is proposed that combines persistent homology technologies with embedded non-geometric information presented as functions of simplicial complexes. The proposed structure of extended barcodes using cohomology increases the effectiveness of persistent homology methods. A modification of the Wasserstein method for finding the distance between images by introducing non-geometric information was proposed. The possibility of the formation of barcodes of images invariant to transformations of rotation, shift and similarity is considered.

This review presents the characteristics and results of clinical studies of patients with age-related macular degeneration implanted with the developed for this purpose first macular IOL – intraocular macular telescope (IMT). This lens was designed specifically for patients with the most severe or terminal form of age-related macular degeneration and is designed for monocular implantation to provide central vision while maintaining peripheral vision of the paired eye, which is important for maintaining the balance and orientation of patients. This device allows patients to see both in dynamic and static situations in the near, intermediate and far ranges. The disadvantages of this lens are a decrease in the visual field and depth of focus (which excludes its bilateral implantation), the need for a large (10–12 mm) incision for implantation, which can cause an increase in corneal astigmatism and the risk of complications, in particular, the pupillary block with an increase in intraocular pressure. There are also difficulties in the study of the fundus after its implantation to assess the small changes in the macula or to identify possible postoperative complications after cataract surgery (macular oedema, etc.). Also after the implantation of this lens, there is need for special programs of visual rehabilitation. The patient’s commitment to the rehabilitation measures for the adaptation of the central visual field of the operated eye with the peripheral vision of the second eye is crucial for success of the IMT macular telescope implantation procedure.

This study aims to determine the effect of the presence of terminal Mangkang Semarang to the problems in the surrounding area. In addition to the above-mentioned objectives of this research has the goal to identify Semarang city transportation management, transportation terminals Mangkang analysis, sera footprint analysis to find out the problems that arise, land use, and the use of function space. To achieve the goals and objectives of the research, the method of analysis used is descriptive qualitative analysis.Based on the analysis showed that the terminal performance is less effective and efficient impact on the problems in the surrounding area that the transportation problems in front Mangkang terminal form of congestion caused by transport stops outside the terminal, use less maksmial kiosks that appear hawkers, and environmental problems in the area of the terminal. From the analysis carried out resulted in a recommendation that is used as an alternative in solving problems encountered in general in the terminal region Mangang related to transportation management, transportation terminals, and terminal area footprint. Keywords : Transportation, Terminal, Regional development.

ABSTRACTSpecimens of trematopid amphibians from the Asturian (Upper Carboniferous) of Nýřany, Czech Republic, are redescribed as two taxa, namely Mordex calliprepes Steen and Mattauschia (gen. nov) laticeps Fritsch. Mordex calliprepes is represented by a single post-metamorphic specimen and has the diagnostic trematopid characters of the nasal region. Mattauschia laticeps is represented by one adult partial skull and mandible plus some fragments and two small post-metamorphic specimens including the species name-bearer. It has the trematopid-type modified lacrimal and a large but oval naris and appears to be the most primitive trematopid yet described. The stratigraphically sequential large trematopids Mattauschia, Fedexia, Ecolsonia and Acheloma show progressive acquisition of the derived features that characterise the terminal form Acheloma.Mordex has a combination of primitive and derived characters and its position within the family is less clear. The many ‘branchiosaurs' in the Nýřany assemblage include specimens that could be larvae of both Mordex and Mattauschia but certain attribution is not possible and they are assigned to Olsoniformes incertae sedis. Mordex and Mattauschia appear to be terrestrial exotic elements in the Nýřany tetrapod assemblage, but with possible larvae in the lake assemblage. Representatives of at least four Palaeozoic dissorophoid families were present in late Middle Pennsylvanian/Asturian strata implying diversification of the Dissorophoidea prior to this time.

AbstractWhile fluid flows are known to promote dissolution of materials, such processes are poorly understood due to the coupled dynamics of the flow and the receding surface. We study this moving boundary problem through experiments in which hard candy bodies dissolve in laminar high-speed water flows. We find that different initial geometries are sculpted into a similar terminal form before ultimately vanishing, suggesting convergence to a stable shape–flow state. A model linking the flow and solute concentration shows how uniform boundary-layer thickness leads to uniform dissolution, allowing us to obtain an analytical expression for the terminal geometry. Newly derived scaling laws predict that the dissolution rate increases with the square root of the flow speed and that the body volume vanishes quadratically in time, both of which are confirmed by experimental measurements.

The liquefied natural gas (LNG) floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) is a kind of LNG receiving terminal forms on the sea. Nowadays, it is the most widely used sea receiving terminal form in the engineering project as it has many advantages. In this paper, the characteristics of the FSRU were discussed based on comparing of the several LNG offshore receiving terminal. The application and trend of the FSRU in China was analyzed. It was found that FSRU is recommended for LNG import in East and South coast of China.
