Research has identified the significant effect of new ventures’ signaling information management on their ability to secure private equity financing. This study adopts an integrated signaling and screening perspective to investigate investors’ differing perceptions of signals from ventures, across early financing stages. It proposes a three-step interpretation process. Based on an inductive multiple case study of signaler‒receiver dyads, it finds that to reach a financing decision, angel investors extract a characteristic signal as the fundamental type, orchestrate an acting signal as a supplementary type, and scrutinize the consistency between both. However, venture capital investors extract an action signal as the fundamental type, orchestrate characteristic and endorsement signals as complementary types, and scrutinize the consistency among all three types.

The innovative potential of the organization’s employees is a significant factor in its competitiveness. Modern research shows that even in those organizations for which innovation is a fundamental type of labor activity, the innovative activity of workers in the structure of their general labor activity is not the leading one. The main difficulty lies in the inability of the company to organize effective mechanisms for identifying and managing the innovative potential of employees. In modern domestic psychological science, the phenomenon of the innovative potential of an organization’s employee has not been sufficiently studied. Innovation potential is viewed as a resource that allows an employee to participate in the implementation of the company’s innovative activities. Employees are carriers of the company’s innovative potential, while the innovative potential of employees is manifested in their willingness, first of all, to be involved in the innovation process in the role of executors, not initiators. Most of the studies devoted to the study of the innovative potential of personnel are carried out at large enterprises and business organizations. Our research expands the scope of studying the innovative potential of personnel. The study involved employees of a budgetary organization that provides psychological and pedagogical support to the population. The article presents the results of an empirical study of the innovative potential of employees of a budgetary organization – a social and psychological center that provides psychological, pedagogical and legal assistance to foster parents, graduates of boarding schools, children left without parental care. By means of factor analysis, a model of the innovative potential of the organization’s employees was built, the main directions of its support and development were determined.

Tokopedia is an Indonesian technology company with a mission to achieve digitaleconomic equity. Since its founding in 2009, Tokopedia has transformed into aninfluential unicorn not only in Indonesia but also in Southeast Asia. On October 7,2019, Tokopedia announced a South Korean music group, BTS, to become the new brand ambassador for Tokopedia. BTS is a global mega star group from South Korea which is shaded by Big Hit Entertainment. Consisting of seven members including RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook, BTS was founded in 2013 and has had worldwide success. The extraordinary growth and achievements achieved by BTS have managed to break records in recent years so that BTS is designated as the persona of the Tokopedia brand. Through this collaboration, the public and BTS fans are expected to be closer to their inspirational figure. The various types of marketing currently carried out by Tokopedia in collaboration and collaboration with BTS have had a lot of impact on Tokopedia's sales. One of the marketing efforts that has been done by Tokopedia is using Twitter. Twitter is one of the social media used to attract consumers to buy products sold on Tokopedia. Using Social Network Analysis (SNA) provides a statistical tool for examining relational data not only on the characteristic attributes of individual actors, and focuses on explaining the patterns of relationships between actors, and analyzing the structure of these patterns. Social etwork representation is expressed in graph form because graph is the most fundamental type of social network representation. Social Network Analysis (SNA) argues that the relationship between nodes is important. The focus of Social Network Analysis (SNA) is on knowing the actors/nodes involved and how relationships occur. This study uses Social Network Analysis (SNA) to produce a structure of relationship data patterns between the collaboration between Tokopedia and Korean Boyband BTS which can help Tokopedia to review the collaboration that has been done. Tokopedia can take action in collaborating with BTS, to continuing or stopping or replacing with newbrand ambassadors.

This paper argues for a comprehensive conception of empathy as comprising epistemic, affective, and motivational elements and introduces the ancient Stoic theory of attachment (Greek, oikeiōsis) as a model for describing the embodied, emotional response to others that we take to be distinctive of empathy. Our argument entails that in order to provide a suitable conceptual framework for the interdisciplinary study of empathy one must extend the scope of recent “simulationalist” and “enactivist” accounts of empathy in two important respects. First, against the enactivist assumption that human mindreading capacities primarily rely on an immediate, quasi-perceptual understanding of other’s intentional states, we draw on Alfred Schutz’ analysis of social understanding to argue that reflective types of understanding play a distinct, but equally fundamental role in empathic engagements. Second, we insist that empathy also involves an affective response toward the other and their situation (as the empathizer perceives this). We suggest analyzing this response in terms of the Stoic concepts of attachment, concern, and a fundamental type of prosocial motivation, that can best be described as an “extended partiality.” By way of conclusion, we integrate the above concepts into a comprehensive conceptual framework for the study of empathy and briefly relate them to current debates about empathic perception and prosocial motivation. The result, we argue, is an account that stays neutral with regard to the exact nature of the processes involved in producing empathy and can therefore accommodate discussion across theoretical divides—e.g., those between enactivist, simulationalist, and so-called theory-theorist approaches.

Abstract In this note, we study the Swampland Distance Conjecture in TCS G2 manifold compactifications of M-theory. In particular, we are interested in testing a refined version — the Emergent String Conjecture, in settings with 4d N = 1 supersymmetry. We find that a weakly coupled, tensionless fundamental heterotic string does emerge at the infinite distance limit characterized by shrinking the K3-fiber in a TCS G2 manifold. Such a fundamental tensionless string leads to the parametrically leading infinite tower of asymptotically massless states, which is in line with the Emergent String Conjecture. The tensionless string, however, receives quantum corrections. We check that these quantum corrections do modify the volume of the shrinking K3-fiber via string duality and hence make the string regain a non-vanishing tension at the quantum level, leading to a decompactification. Geometrically, the quantum corrections modify the metric of the classical moduli space and are expected to obstruct the infinite distance limit. We also comment on another possible type of infinite distance limit in TCS G2 compactifications, which might lead to a weakly coupled fundamental type II string theory.

Metaphysicians often focus on what is vertically fundamental, appealing to grounding or truth-making, rather than what is horizontally fundamental: what must be common to any metaphysical picture of the universe. There is a case for causation being one such feature. But how should it be characterized? A revised semantics for counterfactuals provides the basis for a new counterfactual analysis of causation that is compatible with Humean supervenience but also appropriate for a non-Humean metaphysical framework. Causes (independently of their competitors) both make the chance of an effect very much greater than its mean background chance in the circumstances and actually influences the probability of the effect in this way at the time at which the effect occurred via a complete causal chain. Causation understood in this way is a non-transitive relation. It is neutral over the metaphysics of causes and effects but allows a natural way for events to be understood as one fundamental type of causation, the other being property causation. Although negative causal statements are true, there are no cases of negative causation. The analysis explains how causation involving substantial processes is only one variety of causation, others include double prevention. It allows for a variety of micro- and macro-properties to be the basis of the difference between cause and effect. Laws are patterns of causation realized in different ways in different metaphysical pictures. The analysis of causation characterizes a horizontally fundamental property whose modal character depends upon its different realizations.

The possibility of using the theory of deterministic chaos is considered. Vacuum polarization is a fundamental type of physical processes. The average value of any physical quantity must remain zero. Taking this assumption as a fundamental law, we propose a model that describes the processes of variation (depreciation) of the value of money. At the same time, we consider the processes of variation of the initial amount of funds introduced into the economic system by an independent “generator” (for example, the US Federal Reserve System) in a situation when the amount of returned funds must exceed the amount of given credits. Since the amount of returned funds must exceed the amount borrowed by the value of the refinancing rate, either a constantly increasing debt is formed, or an increase in the money introduced to the economy. The relationship of the “depreciation” of money is also investigated in this model

Neutral monism is a theory of the relation of mind and matter. It holds that both are complex constructions out of more primitive elements that are ‘neutral’ in the sense that they are neither mental nor material. Mind and matter, therefore, do not differ in the intrinsic nature of their constituents but in the manner in which the constituents are organized. The theory is monist only in claiming that all the basic elements of the world are of the same fundamental type (in contrast to mind–body dualism); it is, however, pluralist in that it admits a plurality of such elements (in contrast to metaphysical monism).
