A Political History of Educational Development through International Organizations

International aid to African education is a complicated system involving thousands of organizations and billions of dollars. From global policy provisions to school block construction, the scale of educational development in Africa encompasses a range of solutions unlike those seen in any other region of the world. African classrooms are molded through local, national, regional, and global forces in ways unknown elsewhere. Understanding international aid to African education through a historical lens allows for an informed exploration of theoretical foundations and their impact on today’s realities. A political history emphasizes the oft-times hidden assumptions of aid and development while revealing necessary shifts for future disruption.

STRATEGI MENINGKATKAN OUTCOMES PASCA PELATIHAN VOKASI TUKANG BAHAN BANGUNAN PAVING BLOK PROGRAM KOTAKU

This study aims to analyze how much change is experienced by vocational training participants in paving block construction materials on learning in attitudes, knowledge, general skills, and specific skills (outcomes). In addition, this analysis is also intended to determine how the effect of vocational training on paving block construction materials on the results of the changes obtained. The training was held on December 21-24, 2020, at the Faculty of Engineering, University of IBA Palembang. Forty participants attended the training. The data in this analysis were obtained through pre-test and post-test. These changes are described in 4 predicates using simple regression analysis: excellent, better, already good, and not good. The regression results showed that an average of 15.625% of the participants experienced an increase in results, an average of 76.25% of the participants obtained stable/stable results, and an average of 8.125%. Of the participants experienced a decrease in results. The analysis results found that training had an effect of 3.1% on participants' attitudes, 15.8% on participants' knowledge, 19.8% on general skills of participants, and 0.2% on specific skills of participants. The R-square value is not very influential because most of the participants are craftsmen who have experience making paving blocks. It takes a strategy of activities focused on goals and an activity strategy to improve the final result. Thus, the participants' primary objective is to become competent construction workers of infrastructure, road construction, and settlements construction infrastructure can be achieved. Keywords: vocational training, attitude change, knowledge, general skills and special skills Abstrak Penelitian bertujuan memberikan solusi atas capaian pembelajaran (outcome) yang dicapai peserta setelah pelatihan vokasi tukang bahan bangunan paving blok. Pelatihan dilaksanakan 21-24 Desember 2020 di Fakultas Teknik Universitas IBA Palembang. Peserta berjumlah 40 orang, dan semuanya menjadi responden. Jawaban pre-test dan post-test, menunjukkan ada perubahan jumlah peserta terhadap capaian pembelajaran yaitu ; sikap, pengetahuan, keterampilan umum dan keterampilan khusus. Peserta dengan outcome meningkat 15,625%, yang tetap/stabil 76,25% dan peserta dengan outcome menurun 8,125%. Jawaban tersebut diregresi juga untuk mengetahui pengaruh pelatihan terhadap perubahan sikap, pengetahuan, keterampilan umum dan khusus. Hasilnya menunjukkan ada perubahan sikap sebesar 3,1%, pengetahuan 15,8%, keterampilan umum 19,8% dan keterampilan khusus 0,2%. Pengaruh (R square) memang tidak begitu besar, namun begitu jelas bahwa pelatihan vokasi ada pengaruh terhadap outcome peserta. Dibutuhkan strategi aktifitas terarah ke tujuan (goal directed activity) dan strategi aktifitas tujuan (goal activity) untuk meningkatkan outcome peserta pasca pelatihan, sehingga tujuan menjadi tukang bahan bangunan untuk infrastruktur pembangunan jalan dan permukiman yang kompeten dapat tercapai. Guarantee Obligations of a Real Estate Developer: Challenging Aspects

The article describes the issues of the liability of real estate developers for undue quality of apartment block construction. The paper studies the issue of provisions to be applied in the event of imposition of the obligation to execute guarantee repairs on a real estate developer. Options of application of contractor provisions or sale and purchase provisions are reviewed. Judicial practice reflecting various approaches is referred to. Guarantee term calculation peculiarities are analyzed.

PENINGKATAN KOMPETENSI KONSTRUKSI BALOK SEDERHANA MELALUI MODEL PEMBELAJARAN PROBLEM BASED LEARNING DIPADUKAN DENGAN METODE DRILL

The purpose of this study was to improve the competence of calculating simple Block Construction through the Problem Based Learning Model Combined with the Drill Method. The implementation of this classroom action research consisted of two cycles (sycle I and cycle II) with each having two meetings. The choice of this title is based on the fact that the grades of Engineering Mechanics are low as evidenced by the student daily score. With the problem based Learning model combined with the Drll method, the competence of students increases in the competence of counting simple blocks.The results obtained showed that in first cycle, the student activeess aspect reached an average of 79 % (enough Active) and achievement of knowledge value was 38,2 % of competent students. In the second cycle, there was significant increase with student activeness increasing to an average of 87 % (Active), while the achievement of the knowledge score increased to 85,3 % of competent students

Improvement of the Welding Process for Fillet Air Test for the Biggest Taiwan Shipyard

During ship block construction, watertight bulkheads weld of every cabin of ships need to undergo stress testing according to the tanks’ test plan. Every incomplete bulkhead cannot be sprayed in order to protect them after sandblasting; this seriously affects the process of construction. Therefore, the issue of this study is to maintain the integrity of the painting quality and reduce the destruction of the paint, ship-building personnel seek how best to complete the block operation. The aim of this project is to improve the recent watertight bulkheads fillet air test operations in the construction stage using TRIZ (theory of inventive problem solving), promote the ground painting session integrity of every ship, improve the tanks’ test plan in the dock, and reduce the time spent on dismantling operations and the painting operation. Through the TRIZ, this study proposed lots of improvements, some of which are: the watertight cabins can finish the tanks test plan completely, and the integrity of the ground painting can be promoted to reduce the range of cabin test in the dock and reduce watertight bulkheads’ dismantling time. Moreover, because of the considerate reduction of the destruction of the coating, the painting operation is of good quality. The results demonstrate that the TRIZ successfully controls the production quality during construction, reduces working time, and promotes full efficiency. This study saved more than US$1 million of the outsourcing fee.

A new stage in the development of housing construction

The perspective development of large-modular housing construction is considered as an important area of a significant increase in the pace and volume of housing construction. The analysis of the manufacture and use of blocks used for container mobile buildings for industrial and auxiliary purposes, as well as aggregated blocks for complete block construction of oil and gas facilities is given. The types of block modules of large-scale residential buildings and the technological sequence of their installation are indicated. The problems of transportation of block modules and mechanization of their lifting and installation in the design position are formed and analyzed, and the ways of their solution are revealed.
