Abstract In order to effectively solve a series of problems caused by harmonics in power system, an active power filter based on ANFIS-PI and repetitive control is designed. The traditional single control method cannot balance control accuracy and response speed, so a compound control strategy is adopted. Repetitive control can produce the same output as the harmonic current, so it can achieve zero steady-state error tracking compensation for each harmonic, but its dynamic performance is not good. As a traditional control method, the PI control method has a fast response speed, but in the actual application process, when the load changes suddenly, that is, when the system parameters change, its tracking effect is not ideal. Therefore, a composite control strategy of ANFIS-PI and repeated control is proposed. It has been proved that its compensation accuracy and dynamic response speed have been significantly improved.

The actuator of a particleboard glue-dosing system, the glue pump motor, is affected by external disturbances and unknown uncertainty. In order to achieve accurate glue-flow tracking, in this paper, a glue pump motor compound control method was designed. First, the prescribed performance control method is used to improve the transient behaviors, and the error of the glue flow tracking is guaranteed to converge to a preset range, as a result of the design of an appropriate performance function. Second, two extended state observers were designed to estimate the state vector and the disturbance, in order to improve the robustness of the controlled system. To further strengthen the steady-state performance of the system, the sliding-mode dynamic surface control method was introduced to compensate for uncertainties and disturbances. Finally, a Lyapunov stability analysis was conducted, in order to prove that all of the signals are bounded in a closed-loop system, and the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed method were verified through numerical simulation.

Active rotor with trailing-edge flaps is a promising method to alleviate vibrations and noise level of helicopters. Hysteresis of the piezoelectric actuators used to drive the flaps can degrade the performance of an active rotor. In this study, bench-top tests are conducted to measure the nonlinear hysteresis of a double-acting piezoelectric actuator. Based on the experimental data, a rate-dependent hysteresis model is established by combining a Bouc–Wen model and a transfer function of a second order system. Good agreement is exhibited between the model outputs and the measured results for different frequencies. A compound control regime composed of a feedforward compensator and PID (Proportional–Integral–Derivative) feedback control is developed to suppress the hysteresis of this actuator. Bench-top test results demonstrate that this compound control regime is capable to suppress hysteresis at different frequencies from 10 Hz to 60 Hz, and errors between the desired actuator outputs and the measured outputs are reduced dramatically at different frequencies, revealing that this compound control regime has the potential to be implemented in an active helicopter rotor to suppress actuator hysteresis.

AbstractIn hydraulic area, independent metering control (IMC) technology is an effective approach to improve system efficiency and control flexibility. In addition, digital hydraulic technology (DHT) has been verified as a reasonable method to optimize system dynamic performance. Integrating these two technologies into one component can combine their advantages together. However, few works focused on it. In this paper, a twin spools valve with switching technology-controlled pilot stage (TSVSP) is presented, which applied DHT into its pilot stage while appending IMC into its main stage. Based on this prototype valve, a series of numerical and experiment analysis of its IMC performance with both simulated load and excavator boom cylinder are carried out. Results showed fast and robust performance of pressure and flow compound control with acceptable fluctuation phenomenon caused by switching technology. Rising time of flow response in excavator cylinder can be controlled within 200 ms, meanwhile, the recovery time of rod chamber pressure under suddenly changed condition is optimized within 250 ms. IMC system based on TSVSP can improve both dynamic performance and robust characteristics of the target actuator so it is practical in valve-cylinder system and can be applied in mobile machineries.
