Abstract A safeguards assessment for the 10-MWt RDE Experimental HTGR needs to be established in order to fulfill the requirements needed to construct it. Methods and instruments used for the RDE’s nuclear material accounting and safeguards system are reviewed in this paper. Material unaccounted for (MUF) is calculated using the uncertainty of each method and instrument. The effectiveness of the safeguards system is examined by comparing the resulting MUF with the number of SQ ( = significant quantity, i.e. the approximate amount of nuclear material for which the possibility of manufacturing of a nuclear explosive device cannot be excluded). The total uncertainty from each KMP showed a number less than 10%. The number of MUF in each KMP according to total uncertainty showed a number below 1 kg of U-235 in one inventory period (~12 months). According to the number of MUF counted, it is impossible to reach 1 SQ if the diversion done is only by taking the advantage of MUF in the measurement. The result of total uncertainty and MUF calculation showed that the safeguards system and the material measurement designed for RDE is amendable. The sets of instruments and measurements designed will give a comprehensive data of each nuclear material in the RDE. The low number of MUF in comparison with the SQ showed that the RDE has a high proliferation resistance.

The modern specifics of the temporarily free funds management on Unified Treasury Account of the Federal budget have been analysed. The assessment of the possibility and expediency of using of the income part received from the management of these funds to transfer to the Pension Fund of Russia budget as an additional factor in balancing its income and expenditure obligations, – has been made. An analysis of the current legislation has shown that the Pension Fund of Russia is not included in the number of recipients of income shares from managing balances on a single treasury account. In this regard, an estimate of the approximate amount of income from managing balances on a single treasury account based on open data has been made. It is proposed to include the Pension Fund of Russia in process of distributing these revenues since their value is sufficient to cover up to 10 % of the budget deficit of the Pension Fund of Russia.

This paper proposes the national pandemics contingency plan for any country based on the application of the minimum food, water & medication storage for a massive pandemic quota (ψ-Quota). Consequently, the main objective of the ψ-Quota is to calculate the approximate amount of food, water, and medicines storage amount annually in case of a possible massive pandemic crisis. Finally, this paper is divided into three sections: (i) the minimum food, water, and medicine quota storage calculation in case of a massive pandemic; (ii) the food, water, and medicine storage quota for a massive pandemic; (iii) the geographical distribution and mapping of the emergency aid supplier’s modules in case of a massive pandemic for any country. Finally, the ψ-Quota was applied on the case of Malaysia.

In homes that have instantaneous gas heaters to heat water, cold water is wasted in the first seconds of using hot water fixtures. This waste is caused due to the large lengths of piping between the hot water fixtures and the heater that feeds them. The water in such pipes suffers thermal losses over time. When turning on the fixtures, this drinking water, because it is cold, is rejected by users, especially when using showers. This work deals with the conformation of a system that avoids wasting water in residential hot water services. To establish this conformation, a usual plumbing design was analysed to verify the changes proposed in order to optimise the operation of the system. The gas-heated hot water pipes are currently installed so that the pipes start at the heater and run through the entire house to the hot water fixtures furthest from the heater. It was found that the waste of water in a water fixture decreases if there is the consumption of hot water previously in one of the water fixtures of the house. To avoid this waste, according to the configuration of the current plumbing systems, it is necessary to install an additional set of electronic equipment that automatically redirects the cold water − that would be wasted − to a water tank for later use. The system proposed is composed of a solenoid valve located at the end of the hot water pipe. This valve has the function of letting flow to the water tank the approximate amount of cold water that would be wasted. Through a radio frequency signal sent when a button located near the hot water fixtures is pressed, the system recognises which water fixture was turned on and the approximate amount of cold water that must be released through the valve until the arrival of hot water from the heater. Then, there must be a pipe that collects the water that flows through the solenoid valve. Such pipe will be connected to a vertical pipe, responsible for collecting water from all flats and directing the water to the water tank. The installation of the system is based on the recommendations of the standards used in Brazil and the most frequent configuration found in homes. This work also serves as a guide for installing the system in homes other than the example shown herein.

The article provides information about a foreign judicial doctrine (the Cohen Rule) that originated in the court case of 1930 with the participation of George Cohen, Broadway Theater manager and producer. The doctrine under consideration that is still valid in the US tax law does not exclude the application of the approximate amount of taxpayer’s expenses when calculating income taxes in the absence of documents verifying expenses. It is concluded that the domestic regulatory framework applies a similar approach that envisages a fixed deduction for individual entrepreneurs under Article 221 of the Tax Code. It is proposed to introduce a similar regulatory framework for corporate income tax.

Abstract In this paper, the nonlinear Thomas-Fermi equation for neutral atoms by using the fractional order of rational Chebyshev functions of the second kind (FRC2), ${\rm{FU}}_{\rm{n}}^\alpha \left( {{\rm{t}},{\rm{L}}} \right)$ (t, L), on an unbounded domain is solved, where L is an arbitrary parameter. Boyd (Chebyshev and Fourier Spectral Methods, 2ed, 2000) has presented a method for calculating the optimal approximate amount of L and we have used the same method for calculating the amount of L. With the aid of quasilinearization and FRC2 collocation methods, the equation is converted to a sequence of linear algebraic equations. An excellent approximation solution of y(t), y′ (t), and y ′ (0) is obtained.

PurposeThis paper aims to presents a novel application of neural network (NN) pattern recognition to ore rock sorting using inductive electromagnetic (EM) sensors. Design/methodology/approachThe impedance of a metallic rock can be measured with an inductive method based on Faraday’s law and eddy current theory. A virtual rock model is then created for the simulation of the EM measurements. An NN is trained to differentiate between waste and useful ore samples (containing high amount of minerals) based on the EM sensor signals produced by the rocks. FindingsThe NN solution showed high accuracy of rock classification and produced relatively robust results from signals with noise. Originality/valueA pattern recognition NN was applied to classify low- and high-grade ore samples. It has the potential to determine the approximate amount of conductive materials inside ore rocks through multiple classes. This method can be used to improve the performance of EM-based ore sorting for mineral pre-concentration.

The scientific article is devoted to the analysis of issues related to the peculiarities of the relationship between a lawyer and a client in Ukraine and foreign countries. In the article, the author analyzes the provisions of the Law of Ukraine "On the Bar and Advocate Activity" and the Rules of Lawyer Ethics concerning such aspects of the relationship between an attorney and a client as confidentiality, preservation of attorney secrecy, payment of an attorney's fee and determination of the legal nature of an attorney's "success fee". The works of domestic and foreign scientists, the subject of which the author identified the questions, have been investigated. The author defines trust as the basis of the relationship between the client and the lawyer, defines its value and normative dimension; the issues of possible abuse of confidence on the part of a lawyer were considered. It has been established that the principle of confidentiality is not absolute and when it is applied, there are exceptions provided for by the Rules of Lawyer Ethics. The author draws attention to the fact that neither the legislator, nor the all-Ukrainian bodies of advocate self-government determine the criteria for the reasonableness of the amount of the fee. The available decisions of the councils of lawyers of individual regions on the approximate amount of the fee are of a recommendatory nature. The obligation of a lawyer was established to provide in the agreement on the provision of legal assistance provisionsregarding the procedure for payment conditions, return of fees; the possibility of agreeing on the payment of the “success fee” with the client was determined. The author has analyzed the practice of consideration of disciplinary complaints by the Higher Qualification and Disciplinary Commission of the Bar on certain issues of preserving attorney secrets and attorney fees. The experience of the United States of America, Great Britain and France in the aspect of normative regulation and law enforcement of the issues identified in scientific work is investigated. The author identified both the general characteristics of the relationship between a lawyer and a client in Ukraine and foreign countries, as well as excellent ones. The general characteristics of the relationship between a lawyer and a client can be traced in matters of the concept of lawyer secrecy and the guarantee of its nondisclosure. Distinctive characteristics - in matters of the type of responsibility for the disclosure of attorney secrets and the availability of mandatory criteria for the reasonableness of the amount of the attorney's fee.

This article deals with measurement of the thermal gradient on material during abrasive water jet cutting. The temperature was measured by thermocamera before the technological process started, during the abrasive water jet cutting process technology, and just after the cutting process. We performed measurements on several types of materials. We calculated the approximate amount of energy during the abrasive water jet cutting process technology that changes into thermoenergy, which is the current water pressure drained in a catcher tank.
