Abstract High-efficiency lithium-sulfur (Li-S) batteries depend on advanced electrode structure that can attain high sulfur utilization at lean-electrolyte and limited lithium. Herein, a twinborn holey Nb4N5-Nb2O5 heterostructure is designed as a dual-functional host for both redox-kinetics-accelerated sulfur cathode and dendrite-inhibited Li anode simultaneously for long-cycling and lean-electrolyte Li-S full batteries. Benefiting from the accelerative polysulfides anchoring-diffusion converting efficiency and electronic-conducting properties of Nb4N5-Nb2O5, polysulfide-shutting is significantly alleviated. Meanwhile, the lithiophilic nature of holey Nb4N5-Nb2O5 is applied as ion-redistributor for homogeneous Li-ion deposition. Taking advantage of these merits, the Li-S full batteries present the excellent electrochemical properties, including a minimum capacity decay of 0.025% per cycle, and a high areal-capacity of 5.0 mAh cm− 2 at sulfur loading of 6.9 mg cm− 2, corresponding to negative to positive capacity ratio (2.4:1) and electrolyte to sulfur ratio (5.1 µl mg− 1). Therefore, this work opens a new avenue for boosting high-performances Li-S batteries towards practical applications.

Railways around the world are experiencing growth in traffic flow, but the problem concerning how to optimize the utilization of capacity is still demands significant research. To accommodate the increasing traffic demand, the high-speed railway operator in China is interested in understanding the potential benefit of adopting reasonable headway to balance the safety and efficiency of train operations. In this study, a compress timetable scheduling model based on the UIC Code 406 method is presented to evaluate the line capacity. In this model, train headway is not pre-fixed as in the existing research, but considers the actual operating conditions and is calculated using actual running data. The results of the case study show that refined headway calculations generally have positive capacity effects.

In the context of increased expectations of healthcare services and fiscal pressures, rights claims constitute a force pushing for privatization and thus threaten Canada’s single-tier public system. This article introduces the concept of a ‘post-social right’ to understand the current legal effort to enforce a right to healthcare derivative of section 7 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Commonly considered as a ‘negative’ right, I suggest that the right also has positive capacity. Rather than simply protecting against unjust state intervention, section 7 claims valorize a particular mode of sustaining life, liberty and security of the person according to neo-liberal principles. A right to markets in healthcare aligns health law with the logic of prudentialism as a technology of governance. As the enforceability of the right expands and strengthens, health law as governance operates to normalize market solutions to health matters. It follows that a form of two-tier citizenship arises, dividing ‘activated’ citizens from the ‘inactive’.

Knowledge  about the reproductive behavioral peculiarities in equines with positive capacity for change is not feasible and visually impossible to reproduce in the current animal’s exposure systems. From the knowledge of the common aspects to the estrous cycle and the animal's reproductive behavior, a better result can be reached by making a correct management. In view of the above, this work sought to describe  the particularities regarding the  social organization, courting, copulation and maternal equines with the aim of highlighting the importance and the influence of the reproductive animal’s behavior concerning the reproductive success. The present study is a bibliographical review that addresses aspects related to to the reproductive behavior in horses. The search for articles was carried out in the databases Scielo, Pubmed and Capes Portal, where articles  were selected  in the complete national and international document, from 1984 to 2017, in English, Spanish and English based on this work. Deep knowledge on the animal’s reproductive behavior can contribute positively to the establishment of changes in management, aimed at improving reproductive efficiency in current farming systems, and should therefore be encouraged. Keywords: Reproduction. This chapter examines the dialogue between Joseph Vogl and Alexander Kluge, which illustrates the origins and consequences of Kluge's theory of feeling for critique. Kluge explains that the critical capacity—the capacity to differentiate practically at the crucial moment—is an undercover characteristic that people know nothing about. He then mentions that Sigmund Freud speaks of the two-staged development in humans. First, an entire being, along with its sexuality and capacity for differentiation, is formed between infancy and the age of six or seven. This is followed by a latency period when the creature can learn—humans have a genuine period of learning—until puberty upends everything again and a second being, equally sexual, develops. This is the adult. Kluge then claims that classical writers use the word “critique” much differently. He says that critique is the positive capacity to differentiate between something new and an old falsehood.

Abstract Are we free to act irrationally and evilly? Or are irrational and evil actions just consequences of our incapacity to act morally? The article discusses theses questions by referring to Kant’s practical philosophy. In a first step, I shall address Kant’s thesis given in his Groundwork of the Metaphysics of Morals that a free will and a will under moral law be the same. This raises the problem of how it is possible to act immorally. In a second step, I will reconstruct Karl Leonhard Reinhold’s attempt to make freedom to act immorally also viable by conceiving of freedom as a “basic faculty” (“Grundvermögen”). Finally, I argue that Schelling in his Freedom Essay builds on Reinhold, defining freedom as a “vital, positive capacity for good and evil” and making immoral actions comprehensible.

In this work a new phenomenon called polaractivation is introduced. Polaractivation is based on quantum polar encoding and the result is similar to the superactivation effect — positive capacity can be achieved with zero-capacity quantum channels. However, polaractivation has many advantages over the superactivation: it is limited neither by any preliminary conditions on the quantum channel nor on the maps of other channels involved in the joint channel structure. We prove that the polaractivation works for arbitrary zero-private capacity quantum channels and we demonstrate, that the symmetric private classical capacity of arbitrary zero-private capacity quantum channels is polaractive.

Heidegger’s ontology consists of three general categories of beings: present-at-hand, ready-to-hand, and Dasein. Beings in the latter category, namely human beings, are said to exist in either one of two modes; either authentically or inauthentically. In recent years, however, it has been suggested we distinguish a third mode. This third mode, ‘indifference’ as it has come to be known, is motivated by the need to mitigate the tendentious relationship between the two functions of inauthenticity. Inauthenticity serves in a positive capacity as the source of a shared context of significance, while also functioning in the more negative role as the fundamental barrier to authenticity. Introducing this third mode of indifference allows us to split the difference, as it were, between these two seemingly incompatible functions of inauthenticity. This paper argues for a different approach. I want to suggest these two roles of inauthenticity can be made sense of using Heidegger’s distinction between genuine and non-genuine ways of disclosure. This would allow Heidegger to maintain the integrity of inauthenticity without giving up on the formal value-neutral status of this ontological distinction.
