This thesis, the first thesis in theoretical chemistry submitted for the degree of Master of Science at Victoria University of Wellington, has been designed to illustrate two alternative approaches to theoretical studies. The first five chapters illustrate the modern use of operator methods; the last two are concerned mainly with molecular orbital calculations for large organic molecules, using a giant high speed electronic computer. I am deeply indebted to Mr Keith Morris, of the Applied Mathematics Division, Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, for his generous and highly competent help in writing computing programs, and operating computers, at all odd hours of the day and night, for the calculations in this thesis. I would also like to thank Dr R.M. Golding, for useful discussions, and the Director, Applied Mathematics Division, Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, for making computing facilities available.

This chapter conducts a case study of Delaware Technical Community College as it grew its programs from 2009 to present. Despite directive from the President, support and engagement was not widespread across the state: varying by campus, division, department, and instructor. Study abroad leadership was tasked with aligning the program with the college's mission, vision, and strategic directions, and building support internally and externally to boost student enrollment in the study abroad program. By targeting three key groups of stakeholders—students, faculty, and community members—and supporting shared values towards a mutual benefit, Delaware Technical Community College was able to grow its study abroad enrollment by over 400% from 2010 to 2018.

AKTIVITAS ANTIKANKER SENYAWA PTEROKARPAN DARI Erythrina fusca L. Novi Anggreini1), Ratih Dewi Saputri1), Tjitjik Srie Tjahjandarie1), Mulyadi Tanjung1*)1)Natural Products Chemistry Research Group, Organic Chemistry Division,Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science and Technology, Universitas Airlangga, Surabaya 60115, [email protected] ABSTRACT Two pterocarpans namely as sandwicensin (1) dan phaseollin (2) were isolated from the stem bark of. Erythrina fusca L. Their structures were determined based on spectroscopic data such as UV, IR, MS, 1D and 2D NMR. Compounds 1–2 were evaluated for their anticancer against murin leukemia P-388 cells showing their IC50 were 1.20 and 1.05 µg/ml, respectively and very high activity. Keywords : Erythrina fusca L., sandwicensin, phaseollin, anticancer ABSTRAK Dua senyawa pterokarpan yakni sandwisensin (1) dan paseollin (2) telah diisolasi dari kulit batang Erythrina fusca L. Struktur senyawa pterokarpan ditetapkan berdasarkan analisis spektroskopi UV, IR, MS, 1D dan 2D NMR.

Background. Cervical spine disease has the potential to reduce productivity in affected patients because of myelopathy and mood disorder (e.g. depression) which lead to decreasing of the patient’s quality of life. Objective. This study aims to elaborate the most frequent symptoms and pathology of C-spine disease in patients who underwent a surgical procedure over the period time from January 2012 to December 2016. Method. This study is a retrospective, conducted in Spine Division of Department of Neurosurgery, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Indonesia (FMUI). All patients who underwent surgery for the C-spine disease are included. The data was obtained from the records in our spine database. Result. The total number of surgical procedures for spine disease over the 5 years was 345 procedures, with 127 procedures in the C-spine which are the second most common procedures of spine surgery in Department of Neurosurgery FMUI. The C-spine diseases were more common in males, aged more than 50 years old. The most frequent disease or pathology is degenerative disease, and yet, tumour cases show an increasing number and became the most common pathology in the year of 2016. The most common procedure is anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF).Conclusion. Our study showed that the most common symptoms and pathology are myelopathies and degenerative disease respectively, which has similarity with another study in the term of the most frequent pathology and surgical procedure. The finding of the more advanced neurological condition by the time of surgery as the most common symptom is found to be contradictory with other studies in western countries.
