Background: Leiomyoma is a benign smooth muscle mesenchymal tumor, usually of uterine origin but may rarelydevelop in the vaginal walls. Case presentation: A case of 40-year-old para 5+0 woman with anterior vaginal wall leiomyoma is reported. Thepresentation mimics that of uterovaginal prolapse and hence presents a diagnostic challenge. The unusualappearance of the protrusion, failure to reduce at any time even while lying down, and complete absence of urinarysymptoms raised the suspicion of a rare case. The diagnosis was made through examination under anesthesia,cystoscopy, and biopsy. Histological examination of the biopsy specimen confirmed vaginal wall leiomyoma. Thepatient had complete excision of the mass without any complications. Discussion and Conclusion: Vaginal wall leiomyoma is a rare benign vaginal lesion that can easily bemisdiagnosed. Diagnosis involves critical clinical evaluation, especially during pelvic examinations. Any vaginalprotrusion should be approached with a high index of suspicion, especially in patients of reproductive age.

Tremor is an involuntary rhythmic muscle contraction, which causes a regular oscillation of a part of the body. Orthostatic tremor is a rare neurological movement disorder characterized by unsteadiness while standing that is relieved when sitting, walking, or lying down. Neurological examination of primary orthostatic tremor is reported to be normal. The pathophysiological mechanism of this condition is not entirely unknown. Symptoms usually start in the sixth decade. Clonazepam is widely used as a first-line medication in the treatment. A 14-year-old girl patient was admitted due to tremor activated on standing, absent while seated or lying, and improved by walking or leaning. Her brain magnetic resonance imaging and laboratory workup were normal. Tremor completely disappeared with clonazepam in 10 days. I report a case of primary orthostatic tremor in adolescence.

The recent development of the smartphone Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) chipsets, such as Broadcom BCM47755 and Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 embedded, makes instantaneous and cm level real-time kinematic (RTK) positioning possible with Android-based smartphones. In this contribution we investigate the instantaneous single-baseline RTK performance of Samsung Galaxy S20 and Google Pixel 4 (GP4) smartphones with such chipsets, while making use of dual-frequency L1 + L5 Global Positioning System (GPS), E1 + E5a Galileo, L1 + L5 Quasi-Zenith Satellite System (QZSS) and B1 BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS) code and phase observations in Dunedin, New Zealand. The effects of locating the smartphones in an upright and lying down position were evaluated, and we show that the choice of smartphone configuration can affect the positioning performance even in a zero-baseline setup. In particular, we found non-zero mean and linear trends in the double-differenced carrier-phase residuals for one of the smartphone models when lying down, which become absent when in an upright position. This implies that the two assessed smartphones have different antenna gain pattern and antenna sensitivity to interferences. Finally, we demonstrate, for the first time, a near hundred percent (98.7% to 99.9%) instantaneous RTK integer least-squares success rate for one of the smartphone models and cm level positioning precision while using short-baseline experiments with internal and external antennas, respectively.

Long-distance transport of caribou (Rangifer tarandus) can result in morbidities and mortalities. This case report describes the use of a long-acting tranquilizer, zuclopenthixol acetate (ZA) and live video monitoring (LVM) to transport caribou over 2300 kilometers. Two groups of captive caribou were transported from Fort St. John, British Columbia to Dryden, Ontario (n=14; 28.5 h transport) and Anchorage, Alaska (n=11; 32 h transport).  The day prior to transport, caribou were administered ZA at 1 mg/kg via deep intramuscular (IM) injection.  Digital video cameras allowed for live observation of caribou during transport.  Still images of videos from each compartment in the Ontario transport were analyzed for percentage (%) lying versus standing over three time periods (Day 1, Night, and Day 2).  Overall, caribou spent 57% of the transport lying down, with the highest percentage occurring at night (73%).  As group size and animal density decreased there was a trend for caribou to spend more time lying down.  Three animals developed extrapyramidal effects to the ZA and were effectively treated with midazolam at 0.2 mg/kg IM. There were no significant visible injuries or mortalities during or up to 6 weeks post-transport. Zuclopenthixol acetate and LVM were used to successfully transport  caribou over long distances and should be considered in future translocations to improve animal welfare during transport.

Call bell systems play an essential role in patient and nurse interaction in hospitals and at homes. However, many hospitalized patients, especially patients with tetraplegia, cannot press a call bell button for assistance due to hand weakness or paralysis from the neck down. This problem has motivated developing a fabric-based multi-array pressure sensor as a call bell garment, named ePillow, that works by detecting the pressure pattern on a pillow surface where the patient is lying down. In this study, off-the-shelf materials were utilized to form: i) a fabric-based multi-array pressure sensor system, ii) an acquisition circuit along with an interface, and iii) a signal processing algorithm to acquire and interpret the sensor data. To ensure the functionality of the proposed ePillow, a color-coded mesh plot was developed to visualize the sensor data. The reliability of the system was tested with two individuals. The pressure profile of the proposed ePillow shows a comparable profile to that of the commercialized pressure sensor. Findings from this case study have demonstrated the ability to map the force on the surface of the pillow and subsequently the location of the force applied with 71% accuracy and 70% sensitivity.

Along with an aging population worldwide, knee osteoarthritis (KOA), which is the main cause of musculoskeletal pain and disability in the elderly and decreases the quality of life, is prevalent, and their impact is widespread. This study aimed to evaluate the knee osteoarthritis status among the population over age 50 in Kermanshah, Iran. The research community consisted of the population who has been visited in the health bus in Kermanshah in 2016-2017, of which 589 were chosen by an available sampling method. A WOMAC questionnaire was used to determine the prevalence of knee osteoarthritis. The prevalence of knee stiffness rate after sitting, lying down, or resting during the day among women and men were 40.7% and 20.5%, respectively. According to the findings, the highest prevalence rate of knee pain was in subjects with a BMI higher than 30 (31.6%) and BMI 25–30 (24.5%). 39.2% of the subjects never experienced knee pain, 16.6% monthly, 13.4% once a week, 20.4% daily, and 10.4% of them had prolonged knee pain experience. The prevalence of gender-based knee pain was 60.5% among women and 38.6% among men. 30.5% of women and 61.4% of men never experienced knee pain.
