Objectives: To compare the ability to participate in social activities among rheumatoid arthritis patients with other rheumatic disease patients and identify potentially implicated factors. Patients and methods: Between June and November 2019, we consecutively selected patients aged ≥18 years with RA (defined according to ACR/EULAR 2010), SpA (ASAS/EULAR 2010), and SLE (ACR 1997). Main outcome measures: Ability to participate in social roles and activities evaluated using the PROMIS score v2.0 short-form 8a (PROMIS-APS). Secondary outcomes: Participation in social activities according to a series of variables (mobility, depression, satisfaction with social relationships, social isolation, company, emotional support, instrumental support, and support via information). We evaluated the association between the ability to participate in social activities and associated variables using multivariable linear regression analysis. Results: The study population comprised 50 patients with RA (33.1%), 51 patients (33.8%) with SpA, and 50 patients (33.1%) with SLE. The mean PROMIS-APS scores were similar in the three groups. The multivariable analysis for the whole sample showed that the ability to participate in social activities was inversely associated with depression and directly with social satisfaction, mobility, company, and age. The stratified analysis revealed an inverse association between inflammatory activity and ability to participate in social activities in patients with RA and SpA, but not in those with SLE. Conclusion: All patients with RA, SpA, and SLE had a similar ability to participate in social activities. This was associated with other psychosocial factors (social satisfaction, mobility, company, depression) and clinical factors (age and inflammatory activity).

Abstract Socially isolated older adults with MCI are at greater risk of developing ADRD. This study compares the emotional status of older adults with MCI to their cognitively normal counterparts within a socially isolated sample. We used baseline data from the Internet-based Conversational Engagement Clinical Trial (NCT02871921). MCI status was determined according to clinical diagnosis. Three emotion domain scores were calculated: negative affect, social satisfaction, and psychological wellbeing. Linear regressions were conducted for all 17 Emotion Battery measures and 3 domain scores. The 127 participants' mean age was 81.1 (SD=4.6). About 54% were diagnosed with MCI. Older adults with MCI had more negative affect, yet no difference was observed in social satisfaction and psychological wellbeing. Individuals with MCI had higher levels of fear, perceived hostility, perceived stress, sadness, and lower self-efficacy. Better understanding the emotional status could inform the development of behavioral health interventions and early detection of MCI.

PurposeThe success of social commerce group-buying information system (IS) is not a simple accumulation of functions, but a complex process of system integration that makes it difficult to design a high-quality website to improve the conversion rate of users has become a top priority for online companies. The purpose of this study is to further improve the IS success model to adapt to the new research scenarios and explore the boundary conditions between different satisfaction and repurchase intention.Design/methodology/approachIn this study, the users who have used the group-buying website quality for social commerce in the last 6 months are the objects of this study. Finally, 436 valid data were collected by questionnaire survey and analyzed by Smart PLS.FindingsThe results indicate that the four dimensions of website quality enhance consumers' economic satisfaction and social satisfaction, except that the path of system quality and social satisfaction is not significant. Economic satisfaction and social satisfaction also have a significant positive effect on repurchase intentions. Besides, the interactive effect of customer involvement and economic satisfaction has no significant impact on repurchase intention, but customer involvement plays a moderate role in the path of social satisfaction on repurchase intention.Originality/valuen order to make the IS success model better evaluate the characteristics of social commerce sites comprehensively, this present research introduces the measurement construct of interaction quality. Moreover, this study examines the effect of mechanism of economic satisfaction and social satisfaction on repurchase intention from the perspective of practical benefit and psychology. Finally, the boundary conditions of the effect of satisfaction on repurchase intention are explored.

Abstract This research is proposed to determine the impact of management on supply chain performance. A description analysis on each indicator’s constituent variables also carried out. Data obtained from farmer groups (Poktan), combined farmer groups (Gapoktan), organic rice farmer associations, distributors and retailers consisting of modern markets, supermarkets, and minimarkets were selected using snowball sampling method. A questionnaire was utilized to determine the perceptions of respondents. The limitation of the study was the involvement of only one area of certified organic rice producer, and several distributors and retailers who engaged in the organic sector following the supply chain flow. The analysis using partial least squares structural equation modelling obtained that the integration of suppliers has a positive significance on efficiency, responsiveness, flexibility, quality, and economic satisfaction, but it does not affect social satisfaction. Internal integration only significantly influences to quality. The integration of customer has a positive importance on efficiency, responsiveness, flexibility, and social satisfaction, but it does not affect the quality and economic satisfaction. Meanwhile, information sharing has a positive effect on economic and social satisfaction, but it does not affect efficiency, responsiveness, flexibility, and quality. Supplier integration was found to be a significant factor in supply chain management practices in influencing supply chains performance. This study authenticity is the use of measurement constructs that are adapted to conditions in the field to produce new empirical data about the relationship of management practices with supply chain performance in the certified organic rice products.

Due to COVID-19 and the repeated imposition of lockdowns in Pakistan’s Sindh province, the life of senior citizens has become challenging. Given the scarcity of health care policies targeted at Sindh’s aged persons, the use of folk literature as therapy has increased to support against isolation, depression, and distress caused by COVID-19 and lockdowns. Although research on healthy ageing from medical and health care perspectives has been increasingly conducted in different contexts, there is a need to explore how folk literature can contribute to psychological, spiritual, and social wellbeing. Therefore, this research, conducted by collecting data from 15 aged participants through interviews and conversations, seeks to explore how senior Sindhis have used folk literature such as poetry, proverbs, and tales as therapy for their healing. Findings show that the participants’ use of Sindhi folk literature contributes to their psychological (eudemonic, evaluative, and hedonic) wellbeing, spiritual healing, and social satisfaction.

Abstract Objective People with HIV (PWH) are more likely to experience problematic emotions and are at increased risk for frailty. In the general population, frailty is broadly associated with worse social–emotional functioning. However, the extent of this dysfunction has largely been isolated to depression and these relationships have yet to be examined among PWH. Thus, this study examined associations between frailty and summary factor scores developed from the National Institutes of Health Toolbox Emotion Battery (NIH-TB-EB) among PWH. Method Participants were 320 PWH (mean age = 52.3, SD = 12.7). Three previously validated composite scores from the NIH-TB-EB were used to assess social–emotional functioning: negative affect, social satisfaction, and psychological well-being. Using the Fried Phenotype, the sample was dichotomized into non-frail (n = 155) and prefrail/frail (n = 165) groups. Multiple regression was used to examine the association between frailty and social–emotional functioning. Covariates included age, estimated duration of HIV infection, antiretroviral therapy (ART) status, and antidepressant medication count. Results Being prefrail/frail was associated with increased negative affect (B = 0.26, p < 0.001), decreased social satisfaction (B = -0.18, p = 0.002), and decreased psychological well-being (B = -0.25, p < 0.001). Increased age was associated with decreased negative affect (B = -0.17, p = 0.002), and was unrelated to social satisfaction and psychological well-being. Estimated duration of infection, ART status, and antidepressant use were not associated with social–emotional functioning. Conclusions Pre-frail/frail PWH have worse social–emotional functioning, above and beyond age, duration of HIV disease, ART status, and antidepressant use. This suggests both frailty and poor social–emotional functioning may be important targets to screen and treat in order to improve prognosis and quality of life for PWH.

This study was conducted to determine the significant effect of academic workloads to productivity and job satisfaction of elementary teachers in selected schools in Liliw District, Laguna. It is important to value the teachers’ productivity and job satisfaction because the researcher believed that these influences teachers’ turnover and quality of teaching. The independent variables included the academic workloads of elementary teachers. On the other hand, teachers’ productivity and job satisfaction are used as an indicator for dependent variables. It aimed to answer the questions such as the mean level of respondent’s academic workloads in terms of: Teaching Load Allocation, Working Hours, Preparation Time, Coaching and Mentoring and Ancillary Function. Also, the mean level of instructional leaders’ productivity in terms of Community services and linkages, Research, Professional Development and Awards and Recognition as well as the mean level of instructional leaders’ job satisfaction in terms of Work Condition, Job Security, Salaries and Benefits, Working Environment; and Social Satisfaction. Presented the summary of findings, ancillary function had a significant effect to instructional leaders’ productivity as to research and job satisfaction as to Job Security, Salaries and Benefits. Preparation time had a significant effect to teachers’ job satisfaction as to work condition and social satisfaction. Ancillary function and preparation time had significant effect to teachers’ productivity as to community services and linkages and professional development. Therefore, the null hypothesis that academic workloads have no significant effect on instructional leaders’ productivity and job satisfaction among selected elementary schools in Liliw, Laguna at 0.05 level of significance was partially accepted. Based on the drawn conclusions resulted to the following recommendations: Rebalance the workload on a regular basis, it may be recommended that automating faculty workload to ensure faculties in institutions optimally spend their time and align with the interests of the institution to maximize efficiency and effectiveness in all areas of operations. Faculty workload management system can help administrators to determine how best to divide the work. Furthermore, creating an action plan based on evaluation scores to enable faculty members to attend workshops, courses and conferences that promote the development of skills for both teaching and research can also be an option for the Academic Workloads of teachers to be improved.
