Low-carbon product design involves a redesign process that requires not only structural module modification, but more importantly, generating innovative principles to solve design contradictions. Such contradictions include when current design conditions cannot satisfy design requirements or there are antithetical design goals. On the other hand, configuration tasks in the reconfiguration process are interdependent, which requires a well-scheduled arrangement to reduce feedback information. This study proposes an effective configuration methodology for low-carbon design. Firstly, configuration tasks and configuration parameters are designated through quality characteristics, and the directed network along with the associated values of configuration tasks are transformed into the design structure matrix to construct the information flow diagram. Then, the Extenics-based problem-solving model is presented to address design contradictions: low-carbon incompatibility and antithetical problems are clarified and formulated with a basic-element model; extensible and conjugate analysis tools are used to identify problematic structures and provide feasible measures; the Gantt chart of measures execution based on the information flow diagram is constructed to reduce feedback and generate robust schemes with strategy models. The methodology is applied to the vacuum pump low-carbon design, the results show that it effectively solves contradictions with innovative design schemes, and comparative analysis verifies the performance of Extenics.

PurposeOpportunity-driven entrepreneurship (ODEs) is a key to economic development. Consequently, the emigration of potential ODEs constitutes a barrier to the development of the country of origin. Thus, this study examines how the combined effect of subjective insecurity, corruption perception, subjective norm towards emigration, socioeconomic level and the entrepreneurial intention of potentially opportunity-driven university students can affect their propensity to emigrate.Design/methodology/approachA sample of students (N = 354) from the Technological University of the State of Zacatecas is surveyed, and a causal model based on the fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA) configuration methodology is proposed.FindingsThe results suggest that future graduates are more likely to emigrate when their corruption and/or insecurity perceptions are high. In addition, the subjective norm is decisive when taking the decision to emigrate. Finally, in the specific cases of individuals with the highest entrepreneurial intentions as well, their perceptions of corruption and insecurity have a great influence.Originality/valueThis study addresses, from a cognitive point of view, the effect on ODEs of phenomena that are strongly prevalent in Mexico, such as citizen insecurity, corruption, poverty and the migratory tradition.

This article discusses the problem of creating a secure communication channel with specialized UAV. This problem is very relevant today, because an unprotected communication channel can destroy the UAV or distort data received from it. To solve this problem, an exchange protocol with the ability to protect transmitted information is required the core of this protocol is an encryption algorithm, based on which the algorithms for protecting the integrity, confidentiality and availability of the transmitted data for the UAV are implemented. The structure of the protocol for the secure exchange of information was developed. The selection of the hardware platform for the implementation of the software-hardware module of the protocol has been made. The results of cryptanalysis showed the feasibility of using an encryption algorithm in the protocol. The parameters of the protocol are determined, the protocol’s configuration methodology is formulated depending on the possible data exchange channels in order to ensure the maximum permissible level of protection of the transmitted information, taking into account the characteristics of each channel. According to the results of this work, we can conclude that the proposed encryption algorithm is better resistant to cryptanalysis than other widely used algorithms

A quadrotor is a rotorcraft capable of hover, forward flight, and VTOL and is emerging as a fundamental research and application platform at present with flexibility, adaptability, and ease of construction. Since a quadrotor is basically considered an unstable system with the characteristics of dynamics such as being intensively nonlinear, multivariable, strongly coupled, and underactuated, a precise and practical model is critical to control the vehicle which seems to be simple to operate. As a rotorcraft, the dynamics of a quadrotor is mainly dominated by the complicated aerodynamic effects of the rotors. This paper gives a tutorial of the platform configuration, methodology of modeling, comprehensive nonlinear model, the aerodynamic effects, and model identification for a quadrotor.
