In a table tennis rally, players perform interceptive actions on a moving ball continuously in a short time, such that the acquisition process of visual information is an important determinant of the performance of the action. However, because it is technically hard to measure gaze movement in a real game, little is known about how gaze behavior is conducted during the continuous visuomotor actions and contributes to the performance. To examine these points, we constructed a novel psychophysical experiment model enabling a continuous visuomotor task without spatial movement of any body parts, including the arm and head, and recorded the movement of the gaze and effector simultaneously at high spatiotemporal resolution. In the task, Gabor patches (target) moved one after another at a constant speed from right to left at random vertical positions on an LC display. Participants hit the target with a cursor moving vertically on the left side of the display by controlling their prehensile force on a force sensor. Participants hit the target with the cursor using a rapid-approaching movement (rapid cursor approach, RCA). Their gaze also showed rapid saccadic approaching movement (saccadic eye approach, SEA), reaching the predicted arrival point of the target earlier than the cursor. The RCA reached in or near the Hit zone in the successful (Hit) trial, but ended up away from it in the unsuccessful (Miss) trial, suggesting the spatial accuracy of the RCA determines the task's success. The SEA in the Hit trial ended nearer the target than the Miss trial. The spatial accuracy of the RCA diminished when the target disappeared 100 ms just after the end of the SEA, suggesting that visual information acquired after the saccade acted as feedback information to correct the cursor movement online for the cursor to reach the target. There was a target speed condition that the target disappearance did not compromise RCA's spatial accuracy, implying the possible RCA correction based on the post-saccadic gaze location information. These experiments clarified that gaze behavior conducted during fast continuous visuomotor actions enables online correction of the ongoing interceptive movement of an effector, improving visuomotor performance.

E-commerce has changed the buying and selling process and the way people interact via the internet. One company that uses e-commerce is PT Patriot Memory Indonesia. PT Patriot Memory Indonesia sells well-known computer peripherals, including the Solid State Drive (SSD). PT Patriot Memory Indonesia wants to analyze customer feedback regarding SSD products sold in e-commerce, namely Shopee by using Text Network Analysis (TNA) which is one part of social computing. Social computing is a science that focuses on social behavior and social contexts using computing systems. One of the tools of social computing, namely Text Network Analysis (TNA), is a research technique that focuses on identifying and comparing network relationships between words, sentences, and systems to model interactions that generate new knowledge or information. In this study, TextNetwork Analysis will show consumer perceptions through the feedback it provideson buyer reviews. The opinions expressed by consumers in buyer reviews can be analyzed so that they can connect each word and create associations of consumer perceptions of a product. Thus, it can be seen the aspects that must be addressed by the company to improve consumer perceptions. The problem analyzed is the development of social computing in analyzing big data. Can the company take advantage of this information so that they know the perceptions of their consumers through the information in the customer feedback at Shopee. Through Text Network Analysis in social computing, researchers will know the association of each word of consumer perception and can see the perception that has the highest degree of a product and see its relationship with other perceptions. This study looks at consumer perceptions of Patriot SSD products at Shopee. The results of this study can help provide customer feedback information to PT Patriot Memory Indonesia.

Public agents play a key role in municipal environmental management (MEM) under decentralised regimes. This study aimed to evaluate the MEM through the combined perception of municipal agents and the municipal performance previously calculated by secondary data in Pará, Brazil. A questionnaire with a 5-point Likert scale was applied to environmental agents. The respondents (n = 75) from 53 municipalities were divided into poorly performing and well-performing municipalities. The perception of agents from poorly performing municipalities was more optimistic than shown by empirical data. Agents from well-performing municipalities prioritised “economic issues” as significant threats to management over the “institutional capacity” chosen by the other group, indicating a broader view of the reality. As the perception over land-use practices was vital to differentiate the agents from different groups, we concluded for the use of mixed monitoring methods and feedback information for agents for a better MEM, focusing on five variables (Rural environmental register – CAR, in Portuguese acronym; degraded area; deforested area; rural credit; and abandoned pasture) that differentiated the municipalities.

Within a few decades of development, Internet is been refreshing the world’s awareness of its development and potentials at an unexpected speed. In recent years, virtual reality technology has begun to be applied to more and more fields. Especially in instant transmission of information, the applications of VR are incomparable. Akin to the wide-ranged advantages of the technology in education and health, the applications of VR in the art of artistic image designing need to be addressed. With this research work, a comprehensive study is presented about the applications of virtual reality in the art of image visualization. The research intends to analyze the possibility of intermingling modern image visualization with the emerging VR technology. Following a systematic approach, the history and development of display design are reviewed besides studying the artistry techniques used in the technology of art image visualization design. The interdisciplinary association of the two fields is explored with the help of relevant algorithms. The model proposed in the paper for the design of art image is based on the visual interactive process, rigorous assembly sequence, and appropriate equipment mode. As a result, the whole design process is more controllable and feasible. The suggested design concept is verified dynamically. Through the collection and comparison of feedback information, the hypothesis algorithm of the model is updated to accommodate the dynamic information so that to reflect the complete image design process. To assess performance of the model, evaluation was conducted from various perspectives. The three basic image operations such as illumination change, occlusion change, and color change were performed by using the two technologies such as the traditional image design and VR-based image design. From the comparison of experimental data, it was revealed that the effects of traditional art image visualization products produced by the art image visualization and that of VR technology are quite different. For instance, the visualization score achieved for the lighting change operation using the VR technology was 95.48%, whereas 85.57% was obtained for the same operation using the traditional image design technology. Similarly, while adding visual effects using the VR technology, an average of 9% higher score was obtained for the said image operations. The promising results attained for the VR-based design testify that the technology is feasible and suitable to be intermingled with the visual design of art image. As a whole, the findings justify that the proposed approach is quite applicable in visual design of art image systems. In view of the significance of the research, the study can be extended to related domains of computer-based designing and visualization as well.

AbstractEmissions from road traffic contribute to climate change. One approach to reducing the carbon footprint is providing eco-driving feedback so that drivers adapt their driving style. Research about the impact of eco-feedback on energy consumption is the basis for designing a mobile eco-driving feedback information system that supports drivers in reducing fuel consumption. This work develops design knowledge from existing knowledge. Subsequently, we implement a prototypical instantiation based on the derived knowledge. Insights from a field study suggest that our design artifact allows most drivers to decrease fuel consumption by 4% on average. The paper’s theoretical contribution is a set of design principles and an architecture of the proposed mobile eco-driving feedback information system. One recommendation is to provide normative feedback that compares drivers with each other. This feedback appears to encourage drivers to decrease their fuel consumption additionally. The design knowledge may support researchers and practitioners in implementing efficient eco-driving feedback information systems.

Abstract When the enameled wire is winded onto the poles of the motor stator or rotor, the winding quality hugely relies on the control precision of the tension. Therefore, it is necessary to control the tension of the enameled wire in winding process. A tension control system is built with single chip microcomputer, the encoder and the servo motor. The PID feedback controller and feedforward controller are combined to form feedforward feedback controller, which using feedback information of swing angle deviation and feedforward information of wire frame position to adjust the pay off speed dynamically and control tension of enameled wire further. A procedural experimental modelling method is discussed in order to identify the feedforward model. The experiment is performed, it is found that in the typical situation of setting tension 1500 g, the tension fluctuation rate of the PID controller with feedforward model is only 2%, which is far better than that of pure PID controller with a fluctuation rate of 14%. The result shows that the proposed experimental modelling method hosts the characteristics of good accuracy, universality and applicability.

The customer feedbacks provide alternative and important sources to discover knowledge supporting the marketers and customers to make better decisions. However, the manual process to extract useful information depends on domain experts. This paper focuses on improving the performance of the automatic sentiment information extraction from customer feedbacks. The article proposes a new extraction method that consider multiple dimensions of feedback information, aspect, word, contrast, sentence or phrase, and document levels. The aspect-based sentiment extraction uses a named entity recognition technique to extract the desired aspects of a target product. The aspect-based sentiment combines with sentiment information from multiple levels of feedback contexts resulting in the fused sentiment information improves the extraction performance. We validate the effectiveness by measuring the accuracy of the sentiment and aspect recognition methods comparing with SentiStrength and Word-Count. This information gives some insights on customer satisfaction and can be applied in an alarming tool.

In this paper, we tried to point out the importance of improving communication skills in preschool institutions, given that this topic is one of those that have not been frequently considered and analyzed, especially in the context of preschool institutions, and then to present some of our own thoughts on feedback information after the application of knowledge that we received from the participants of the training, which we realized on the topic of communication skills in preschool institutions in the Republic of Serbia. We also referred to the effects that the training had on the participants, which resulted from the application of knowledge after a certain period of time. By considering this topic, we tried to point out some segments that should be targeted and improved in order to contribute to the improvement of ethos in preschool institutions, and thus, indirectly, to the development of not only institutions but also the overall development of individuals.

The words “regulation” and “control” have different meanings. A rich literature exists on the control mechanisms of sleep—the genomic, molecular, cellular, and circuit processes responsible for arousal state changes and characteristics. The regulation of sleep refers to functions and homeostatic maintenance of those functions. Much less is known about sleep regulation than sleep control, largely because functions of sleep are still unknown. Regulation requires information about the regulated variable that can be used as feedback information to achieve optimal levels. The circadian timing of sleep is regulated, and the feedback information is entraining stimuli such as the light–dark cycle. Sleep itself is homeostatically regulated, as evidenced by sleep deprivation experiments. Eletroenceophalography (EEG) slow-wave activity (SWA) is regulated, and it appears that adenosine is the major source of feedback information, and that fact indicates an energetic function for sleep. The last aspect of sleep regulation discussed in this short article is the non-rapid eye movement (NREM) and rapid eye movement (REM) sleep cycling. Evidence is discussed that supports the argument that NREM sleep is in a homeostatic relationship with wake, and REM sleep is in a homeostatic relationship with NREM sleep.
