The objective of this study is to propose a solution for process plant upgradation becoming extinct due to obsoleteness of spares. The study will help in reliability, availability, and maintainability (RAM) based upgradation of control system of process plants in developing countries. Available options for plant upgradation are compact control, modular, and semiautomatic. RAM based upgradation provides solution which is high in reliability and availability (usually all parts are replaced with upgraded and compatible technology) and is easy to maintain throughout the service life of process plant. Case study for stacker and reclaimer of cement plant upgradation is considered to both implement and evaluate the idea. Upgradation methodology is finalized by expert’s feedback regarding selection of hardware with respect to availability, market survey to validate the opinion, and economical availability viability of selected hardware. Pre- and postupgradation scenarios are analyzed to validate the implementation of study and conclude the expected outcomes. The process plant upgradation yielded a cost-effective solution to the problem with automation increasing by 17%, plant maintainability increasing by 80%, and downtime of plant decreasing by 17%. Among all available options, modular design Op1 is considered the best choice that can satisfy RAM criteria.

The purpose of this chapter is to examine the ways in which an organization or an institution can utilize a diversity practitioner for success. This chapter explores the culture of the organization and what the senior management needs to be mindful of in the hiring process and beyond. The chapter then investigates the practices that should be carried out by the organization that will prompt a practitioner for success. It explores the considerations as the practitioner works in the organization on establishing a quality work environment. With a visible commitment and support of the individual and the expected outcomes, the practitioner will be a critical part of the organization's success. Organizations have to be strategic and intentional about implementing measures to assure the diversity practitioner has the tools they need. The organization has a responsibility to recognize the emotional toll and additional stress of being in the diversity practitioner role. Clear expectations and strategies are offered.

Oronasal fistula is one of the disappointing expected outcomes of cleft palate surgery. It may follow palatoplasty for palatal clefting patients, which is defined as an abnormal communication between the oral and nasal cavities. More than one system has attempted its classification. It may be a small and a symptomatic or symptomatic fistula that requires correction. Its rate differs widely according to many factors. Both surgical and non-surgical methods (the pros and cons of each should be considered) are available for its correction, and there are adjunctive therapies to assist in improving the surgical outcome.

This short paper reports on the case of a tertiary level French language practitioner self-training in using Moodle Quiz during the Covid-19 pandemic online emergency remote teaching (Hodges et al., 2020). As no teacher training program included a topic such as ‘how to deal with the pandemic’, switching to online teaching was done under emergency conditions (MacIntyre, Gregersen, & Mercer, 2020). The practitioner had taken advantage of the situation and explored ways of self-training. She took advantage of Moodle Quiz (MQ) affordances. She experimented with different ways MQ could be used to construct a diverse number of quiz activities, embedded with audio and video, infused with elements of constructivism, and aiming at catering for the aims and expected outcomes of the specific students and course. Self-training helped the practitioner face the challenges of online emergency teaching as she developed knowledge, skills, and experiences necessary for creating online interactive activities.

Optimal integration of positive and negative outcomes during learning varies depending on an environment’s reward statistics. The present study investigated the extent to which children, adolescents, and adults (N = 142 8 - 25 year-olds, 55% female, 42% White, 31% Asian, 17% mixed race, and 8% Black) adapt their weighting of better-than-expected and worse-than-expected outcomes when learning from reinforcement. Participants made a series of choices across two contexts: one in which weighting positive outcomes more heavily than negative outcomes led to better performance, and one in which the reverse was true. Reinforcement learning modeling revealed that across age, participants shifted their valence biases in accordance with the structure of the environment. Exploratory analyses revealed increases in context-dependent flexibility with age.

We recently developed LIONESS, a method to estimate sample-specific networks based on the output of an aggregate network reconstruction approach. In this manuscript, we describe how to apply LIONESS to different network reconstruction algorithms and data types. We highlight how decisions related to data preprocessing may affect the output networks, discuss expected outcomes, and give examples of how to analyze and compare single sample networks.

Legal reality examination reveals contradictions and uncertainties that make the researcher think about the correctness of the tasks and tools of doctrinal cognition. In modern science, a wide range of means of cognition have been developed, which makes it possible to overcome such situations and achieve the expected outcomes. One of the jurisprudence methodological resources includes the logical form of paired categories. This method is used to reveal the interaction between non-polar elements in any phenomenon, to form the most complete model of the process or mechanism functioning, etc. In the paper, the author proposes to examine the process of legal regulation through the linkage of the concepts "action of the law — opposition to the implementation of the law." The phenomena under consideration possess not only the distinctive properties, but also the properties that conciliate them. This made it possible to consider the interaction between the operation of the law and the counteraction to it within the framework of legal regulation. On the basis of the algorithm of categories pairing, the study concludes that the action of the law and the opposition to it are subordinate to the law of the unity and struggle of opposites. The development of the unity of the opposites under consideration is taking place in the course of legal regulation representing a contradiction expressed in two mutually exclusive statements: "legal regulation is determined by the operation of the law," "legal regulation is determined by opposition to the law."

Background: Brokers, intermediaries, and boundary spanners (BIBS) bridge research and policy or practice, and can elevate the role of evidence in decision-making. However, there is limited integration of the literature across different sectors to understand the strategies that BIBS use, the skills needed to carry out these strategies, and the expected outcomes of these strategies. Aims and Objectives: In this review, we characterize the strategies, skills, and outcomes of BIBS across the literature in education, environmental, health and other relevant sectors. Methods: We included 185 conceptual and review papers written in English that included descriptions or conceptualizations of BIBS in the context of knowledge transfer or research use in the education, environmental, health, or other relevant sectors (e.g., social services, international development). For each included paper, we extracted and coded information on sector, BIBS strategies, skills, and outcomes. Findings: Our review revealed five strategies used by BIBS that were emphasized in the literature. Specifically, 79.5% of papers mentioned facilitating relationships, 75.7% mentioned disseminating evidence, 56.8% mentioned finding alignment, 48.6% mentioned capacity building, and 37.3% mentioned advising decisions as strategies used by BIBS. Additionally, papers described skills and expected outcomes that were common across these strategies as well as those that were unique to specific strategies. Discussion and Conclusions: We discuss implications of these findings for understanding how BIBS interface with knowledge users and producers as well as directions for future research on BIBS and the professionalization of BIBS roles.
