ABSTRACTBackground: Broken instruments affect the outcome and prognosis. A broken instrument will prevent the procedure of cleaning and shaping, irrigation and obturation of the root canal on the obstructed root section causing failure in endodontic treatment. There are some treatments for broken instrument including retrieving a broken fragment file and bypassing it on the root canal. the aim of the case report aims to provide an alternative for retrieving broken instruments using the H-file braiding technique. Method: A 38-year-old female patient came to the Dental Conservation Clinic RSGM Prof. Soedomo FKG UGM. A patient got a history of initial root canal treatment in a clinic, which ended with a separated file on canine teeth left upper. No complain pain, from the investigation radiographic there is an instrument broken in half apical. The teeth 23 seen temporary restoration cavity class I is still in good. Retrieving broken instruments using the H-file braiding technique, preparation with step back techniques, obturation with warm vertical condensation technique and class I composite resin restorations with fiber-reinforced retention. Result: No complain pain after 2 weeks retrieving broken instrument.Conclusion: The technique of the H-file braiding technique is one technique to retrieve a broken instrument, this procedure is simple, cost-effective, harmless to the teeth and gives root canal sealing.

AbstractThis study aimed to compare the efficacy of XP-endo Finisher R and IrriSafe, with a solvent mixture of Methyl ethyl ketone/Tetrachloroethylene (MEK/TCE), in the removal of root filling residues. Twenty-four human mandibular incisors were pair-matched by micro-computed tomography according to volume and aspect ratio. After retreatment, specimens were allocated to two experimental groups (n = 12), according to the supplementary instrument used. The volume of residual filling material after each irrigating step and the time for retreatment was calculated. Statistical analyses were carried out using Mann–Whitney test, with a significance level of 5%. The volume of initial root canal filling material between the groups was similar (p > 0.05). With the final irrigation protocol (NaOCl and EDTA) the volume of the filling remnants decreased significantly (p < 0.05) with no differences between IrriSafe or XP-endo Finisher R (p > 0.05). The additional solvent mixture MEK/TCE increased the efficiency of filling materials reduction, regardless of the agitating instruments employed, IrriSafe or XP-endo Finisher R (p < 0.05). There was no difference between the two groups regarding the time (p = 0.149). Both supplementary instruments were effective in the reduction of filling remnants. The additional step with a solvent mixture of MEK/TCE enabled a total recovery of patency and the achievement of cleaner canals, independently of the agitation instrument.

Maintenance of pulp functional integrity should be aimed by the treatment of trauma affected immature permanent teeth. The prognosis of vital pulp therapies (VPT), when well indicated and correctly performed, not only preserves pulp vitality but also provides the immature root development. This case reports the treatment of a patient with a crown fractured immature maxillary right central incisor. Clinical examination, radiographic inspection and sensitivity tests confirmed tooth vitality. In spite of the superficial micro abscess presence, pulpotomy was the treatment of choice according to the pulp vitality characteristics found during the undergoing surgery. Root development and apical closure were verified at the 1st year radiographic control. After 3 years of follow-up, even with the occurrence of 3 new traumatisms, the treated tooth showed radiographic sound characteristics. Nevertheless, on the fourth-year return, the conventional endodontic treatment had to be carried out due to radiographic signal of initial root obliteration. It was concluded that pulp vitality diagnosis step and clinical-radiographic follow-up are extremely important for the pulpotomy outcome.  This conservative approach resulted in success since it induced root development and apical closure, permitting the posterior execution of the endodontic therapy.

         Up to date the cubic equation or matrix tensor is consisting of nine values ​​such as stress tensor that turns into the cubic equation which has been used for solving classic method. This is to impose an initial root several times to get it when achieves the equation and any other party is zero. Then dividing the cubic equation on the equation of the root. After that dividing the cubic equation on the equation of the root and using the classical method to find the rest of the roots. This is a very difficult issue, especially if the roots are secret or large for those who are looking in a difficult field or even for those who are in the examination room. In this research, two equations were reached, one that calculates the angle and the other that calculates the three roots at high accuracy without any significant error rate. By taking advantage of the traditional method, not by imposing a value to get the root of that equation, but by imposing an equation to get the solution equation that gives the value of that root. After imposing that equation, the general equation was derived from which that calculated the three roots directly and without any attempts. The angle that was implicitly derived during the derive of the main equation is calculated by taking advantage of the constants that do not change (invariants) for the matrix tensor (T).

Background: Cases of thoracic stenosis with cauda equina syndrome are rare. The thoracal canal is relatively narrow compared with cervical and lumbar, so the less pressure on the lower thoracal region is the thoracic vertebral height 11 which is the initial release of the cauda equine nerve root can cause complaints of cauda equina syndrome.Case: A 50-year-old male presented pain in both legs for 3 years, accompanied by weakness in the legs, numbness in the buttocks, and erectile dysfunction. Thoracal MRI examination shows severe spinal stenosis at 11th-12th thoracal vertebra with ligamentum flavum hypertrophy. Second patient, a 70-year-old man complained of weak legs since 1 week, accompanied by low back pain, numbness in the buttocks, and difficulty defecating. Thoracal MRI examination shows severe spinal stenosis in the 10th-11th thoracal vertebra. Both patients immediately underwent selective decompression surgery, laminotomy, and flavectomy at thoracal level showed satisfactory results based on improvement in clinical symptoms.Discussion: Leg weakness, hypoesthesia in the buttocks and pubic area, erectile dysfunction is the cauda equina syndrome. The exit of the first cauda equine nerve can be placed at 11th thoracic vertebra, so the presence of stenosis at that level and bellow can cause symptoms of the cauda equina syndrome. MRI examination is needed to ensure that there is severe spinal stenosis at the level of the thoracal-lumbar spine, according to the level of neurological disorders. The surgery of decompression is immediately carried out in the case of cauda equina syndrome because it is an emergency state.Conclusion. In cases with complaints of the cauda equina syndrome, thoracic stenosis can be the cause due to stenosis of the lower thoracic region which is the initial root of the cauda equina nerve. Confirm accurate diagnosis is with MRI.

AbstractThe initiation of intracellular host cell colonization by symbiotic rhizobia in Medicago truncatula requires repolarization of root hairs, which includes the re-arrangement of cytoskeletal filaments. The molecular players governing microtubule (MT) re-organization during infection remain to be discovered. Here, we identified the M. truncatula DREPP protein and investigated its functions during rhizobial infections. We show that rhizobial colonization of drepp mutant roots as well as transgenic roots over-expressing DREPP is impaired. DREPP re-localizes into symbiosis-specific membrane nanodomains in a stimulus-dependent manner. This subcellular segregation coincides with DREPP-dependent MT fragmentation and a partial loss of the ability to re-organize the MT cytoskeleton in response to rhizobia, which might relay on an interaction between DREPP and MT organizing protein SPIRAL2 (SPR2). Taken together, our results reveal that establishment of symbiotic associations in M. truncatula require DREPP in order to regulate MT reorganization during initial root hair responses to rhizobia.

Propagation by root cuttings is an easy and low-cost method for plant taxa with an ability to produce rhizomes or suckers. This research examined the possibility of using root/rhizome cuttings in the propagation of two difficult-to-root old rose cultivars, ‘Harison’s Yellow’ and ‘Poppius’. A plant-based preparation (Root Juice), titanium (Tytanit), and IBA (Chryzotop Green 0.25% IBA, Rhizopon AA 020 XX 2.00% IBA) were tested as rooting and growth enhancers for thick, medium, and thin rhizome/root cuttings. Additionally, observations were made to identify the site of the initial root and shoot formation. Shoots appeared before roots, without polarity. The visible swellings differentiating in new root/shoot buds in these two rose cultivars were placed along the rhizome. The primordia of root and shoot buds were situated near the pith rays and the vascular cambial zone. The trial reported here showed significant effects of the thickness of root cuttings and the preparations used in terms of rooting success and growth characteristics. Medium-sized cuttings of rose ‘Harison’s Yellow’ (45.0%), and thin cuttings of ‘Poppius’ (74.3%) achieved the highest rooting percentages. The most effective treatment was with Chryzotop Green, but Root Juice 0.01% and Tytanit 0.04% (‘Poppius’) and 0.02% (both cultivars) also had positive activity. Root Juice and Tytanit can be suggested for rooting cuttings of these roses as eco-friendly preparations.
