When U.S. presidential candidates misrepresent the facts, their claims get discussed across media streams, creating a lasting public impression. We show this through a public performance: the 2020 presidential debates. For every five newspaper articles related to the presidential candidates, President Donald J. Trump and Joseph R. Biden Jr., there was one mention of a misinformation-related topic advanced during the debates. Personal attacks on Biden and election integrity were the most prevalent topics across social media, newspapers, and TV. These two topics also surfaced regularly in voters’ recollections of the candidates, suggesting their impression lasted through the presidential election.

Online learning environment is one of the ways to conduct a learning activity. It usually uses some internet-based programs to support the learning activity including teacher-students’ interaction. Many challenges are considered to occur more on online learning rather than on site learning. Due to its limitation, online learning environment is questioned to be an effective way in providing interaction among teacher and students. Thus, this paper aims to find students’ perspective of teacher-students interaction in an online learning environment. Moreover, to collect the data from the participants, this study used an interview to get in-depth information to see students’ perspective on the related topic. The result shows that two-ways discussion was preferably chosen by the participants and feedback should be given orally, rather than in written form, to help the participants understand more about the materials.

Due to the prevalence of globalization and the surge in people’s traffic, diseases are spreading more rapidly than ever and the risks of sporadic contamination are becoming higher than before. Disease warnings continue to rely on censored data, but these warning systems have failed to cope with the speed of disease proliferation. Due to the risks associated with the problem, there have been many studies on disease outbreak surveillance systems, but existing systems have limitations in monitoring disease-related topics and internationalization. With the advent of online news, social media and search engines, social and web data contain rich unexplored data that can be leveraged to provide accurate, timely disease activities and risks. In this study, we develop an infectious disease surveillance system for extracting information related to emerging diseases from a variety of Internet-sourced data. We also propose an effective deep learning-based data filtering and ranking algorithm. This system provides nation-specific disease outbreak information, disease-related topic ranking, a number of reports per district and disease through various visualization techniques such as a map, graph, chart, correlation and coefficient, and word cloud. Our system provides an automated web-based service, and it is free for all users and live in operation.

Global research output grows exponentially each year. This paper attempts to drive meaning out of this big data on two fields of research in architecture. It maps the interaction between the research fields of sustainability in architecture and architectural education through the perspective of bibliometric data analysis and its visualization. Based on the analysis of bibliometric data, it draws and juxtaposes two timelines for the field of sustainable architecture and the field of architectural education. The objective is to propose a retrospective method that can provide insight for a broader understanding of sustainability and its impacts on architectural education. It utilizes VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and Gephi to visualize bibliometric networks, along with Tableau to analyze the number of journal articles and publications published across years. The paper presents initial findings concerning the leading scholars, trends, and patterns of the research areas, milestone events, and dominant studies to point out the significance of the cooperation between research and education fields of the related topic.
