<div>Abstract—In this work, we present a powerful notch filter for power-line interference (PLI) cancelation from biomedical signals. This filter has a unit gain and a zero-phase response. Moreover, the filter can be implemented adaptively to adjust its bandwidth based on the signal-to-noise ratio. To realize this filter, a dynamic model is defined for PLI based on its sinusoid property. Then, a constrained least square error estimation is used to emerge the PLI based on the observations while the constraint is the PLI dynamic. At last, the estimated PLI is subtracted from recordings. The proposed filter is assessed using synthetic data and real biomedical recordings in different noise levels. The results demonstrate this filter as a very powerful and effective means for canceling the PLI out.</div>

Abstract In order to improve the poor efficiency in the measurement of the geometric error of machine tools’ linear axes, this paper has presented a method to measure and restructure the geometric error of linear axes that is based on accelerometers. This method takes advantage of the phenomenon that when acceleration is measured under different measuring speeds, different frequencies and amplitudes are produced. The measurement data of the high signal-to-noise ratio for various velocities was fused together and the straightness error of the measured axis was obtained by integrating the acceleration twice. In order to remove the trend terms error in the integration, a zero phase IIR Butterworth filter was designed, which guarantees the signal’s phase invariance after filtering. The data was continued with the AR model to eliminate the endpoints’ effect in the filtering. The proposed method was verified by numerical values and experiments. The results showed that the proposed method has better robustness, a wider bandwidth and a higher efficiency than the methods of measuring by laser interferometer. It is also able to measure the geometric error of linear axes with an accuracy that reaches the micron scale.

This paper proposes a hybrid dual path sub-sampling phase-locked loop (SSPLL), including a proportional path (P-path) and an integral path (I-path), with 0.8 V supply voltage. A differential master–slave sampling filter (MSSF), replacing the sub-sampling charge pump (SSCP), composed the P-path to avoid the degraded feature caused by the decreasing of the supply voltage. The I-path is built by a rail-to-rail SSCP to suppress the phase noise of the voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) and avoid the trouble of locking at the non-zero phase offset (as in type-I PLL). The proposed design is implemented in a 40-nm CMOS process. The measured output frequency range is from 5.3 to 5.9 GHz with 196.5 fs root mean square (RMS) integrated jitter and −251.6 dB FoM.
