This concluding chapter assembles the complete repertoire of proposed motifs—identity, representation, change, containment, and conduit—together with verbal affirmations for each. Summarizing conclusions from previous chapters, it describes each motif’s respective cognitive underpinnings and its distinctive entailments. It also proposes that divisions over practices such as the appropriate disposal of consecrated elements and the legitimacy of reservation and adoration have arisen from differences in these entailments and that a multiply metaphorical approach can help churches practice mutual forbearance and respect. Multiply metaphorical thinking provides access to otherwise inaccessible truths. No metaphor is the whole truth, and each unique, irreplaceable metaphor needs to be complemented and counterbalanced by others.

This chapter introduces the idea of an ecumenical repertoire of “metaphors of eucharistic presence” and situates the book within discussions of metaphor, language, and embodiment in liturgical theology. It proposes an “additive method” that allows metaphors with different entailments to stand alongside one another as complementary rather than contradictory. Five motifs—identity, representation, change, containment, and conduit—are introduced, each of which will be more fully explored in later chapters. Each includes one or more verbal affirmations churches could be invited to endorse. The chapter concludes with some notes on the scope of the project and how it is informed by the author’s Anglican perspective.

Abstract Longstanding connections between Indian residents and traders and the Gulf are not only featured in multiple Arab and Indian films but also in online media. Social media practices serve as tools to express and communicate identity through video and visual images. Self-representation of first- and second-generation Gulf migrants from Kerala finds its way into memes, GIF s and videos. On YouTube, comedic (self-) representation of Malayalis is introduced in a variety of genres, produced both in the United Arab Emirates and India. Although life in the Gulf is displayed from the perspective of more fortunate migrants, whose economic circumstances are often more secure than those of Indians in Kerela, these YouTube stories also depict alienation and their newfound identities as Indians from the Gulf. Ahmad Al Kaashekh’s Instagram and YouTube representations serve as one example of a comedic approach to claiming a Malayali identity in the Gulf. Through video analysis and interviews, I analyze notions of identity representation as well as the role of humor in the sources.

The purpose of article is to determine the features of the representation of Ukrainian identity in “TikTok” social media. The methodology. Through a specially account created by the author, a qualitative contentanalysis of the videos in the TOP50 Ukrainian blogs and a search for videos on the most popular Ukrainian studies tags had been conducted. The results of the case had been compared with the data obtained by the author in the process of researching other popular in Ukraine social media and networks — Instagram, Facebook, Telegram. The results. “TikTok” had been defined not only as a dynamic and entertaining social media, but also as an increasingly active sociopolitical actor. It has been established that, unlike other social media and networks, “TikTok” broadcasts Ukrainian identity simultaneously at the civicpolitical, linguisticcultural and ethnically charged levels. The most socially significant practices of spreading the actual, linguistic and cultural identity of Ukrainians have been identified. These are: а) the practices of using in network activity only Ukrainian language; b) practices of conscious popularization of the Ukrainian language through the shooting of special videos. It had been shown that, on the other hand, the most widespread level of civic and political identity in “TikTok” is marked by a not favorable attitude to one’s own national and state affiliation. This is a consequence of inefficient socioeconomic modernization of the country in recent decades. The topicality. This is the first attempt of not popular, but scientific research of “TikTok” as an active sociopolitical actor in Ukraine. The practical significance. This study applies a sociocultural linguistic approach where it examined the representation of English as International language teachers' identity negotiation in their classroom interactions. The important role of the teachers involving their efforts, values , and beliefs preceded this study. Furthermore, the findings in this study indicated that the English teachers negotiate their identity as they still bring out the teaching with the reference to cultural, social, political, and religious constructs. The different ways of the teachers showing their identity infused in their linguistic use in the classroom. Moreover, the religion bounding values and beliefs that the teachers motivated to explore were shown in the connection between the English teaching topic being discussed in class and the religious concept in teaching, which in this case related to the Islamic teachings. The teachers also perceive their identities which can be assembled into four broad areas showing their understanding and the important function of their identity representations in the way of teaching. Lastly, some pedagogical implications were also found from this study.

"Expressive Enactments of Ethnic Membership in the Romanian-American Organizations from California. Centered on the missions and repertoires of the Romanian ethnic organizations in California, this study analyzes how Romanian-Americans negotiate their Romanian ethnicity as individuals and as members of organized groups. While describing ethnic organizations as loci of ethnic awareness, founded on the expressive identification of Romanian-ness in the American space, my focus is on the heterogeneous discourses of the most visible Romanian ethnic associations in California. This study identifies ways of ""encapsulating"" Romanian ethnicity in ensembles of cultural practices which showcase ethnic culture through artifacts and cultural events as signifiers of ethnicity. Keywords: Romanian-Americans, California, ethnic organization/association, cultural practices, identity, representation "

This paper will propose that Beckett’s affinity for crime and mystery fiction also contributes to Murphy. The novel will be examined on the proposed hypothesis that Murphy’s death, so-called, is conspicuously left ambiguous to a certain degree, rendering it a type of mystery narrative. Approaching the mysterious death as something like a detective fiction “cold case”, the events of Murphy, and clues left by Beckett throughout the prose that follows, I will investigate whether or not Murphy does actually die toward the end of the book. Although Beckett does not present these aspects in the traditional form of “thriller” fiction, he does use them to create a modernist aesthetic which challenges traditions, identifications of being, identity, representation and space regarding both the individual and the social context of the Irish “postmortem situation” depicted in Murphy.
