Fuel spill monitoring for fishing smacks is a live fuel leak detector that can alert the vessel's crew and captain about the leakage by using a web camera connected to a Raspberry Pi. The fuel spill was resolved using the Convolution Neural Network (CNN). Also, the Coast Guard and the Environmental Protection Agency were informed about the location of the oil discharge through telegrams. Here, a picture of the spill, as well as its latitude and longitude, a live Google map location, and a no spill picture with a GPS location whenever the spillage stops, will be shared. As a result, the team could take immediate action without delay. This spill detection system is linked to an accident detection system. Hence, we can safeguard fishing vessels and marine activities without any harm to human kind, as well as to the living beings in the sea.

Abstract Honeybees communicate locations by the waggle dance, a symbolic form of information transfer. Here we ask whether the recruited bee uses only the indicated course vector or translates it into a location vector on a cognitive map. Recruits were captured on exiting the hive and displaced to distant release sites. Their flights were tracked by radar. Both the vector portions of their flights and the ensuing tortuous search portions were strongly and differentially affected by release site. Search patterns were biased toward the true location of the food and away from the location given by adding release-site displacement to the danced vector. The results imply that the bees recruited by the dance access the indicated location of the food on a shared spatial representation. Thus, the bee dance communicates two messages, a flying instruction and a map location.

Four color-coded overlays that augment a tactical map were evaluated as candidates for multi-unmanned vehicle (UV) sensor management by a single operator. Each overlay provided six levels of temporal information to indicate how long ago each map location had been viewed by a UV. Twelve participants completed 140 trials, each trial posing a question to be answered by retrieving spatial-temporal information from static map overlays. The accuracy of the participants’ answers significantly differed as a function of overlay type. Suggestions for overlay design and future research methodology are provided.

This paper analyzed urban network and regions in China using a complex network model. Data of daily migration among 348 prefectural-level cities from the Baidu Map location-based service (LBS) Open Platform were used to calculate urban network metrics and to delineate boundaries of urban regions. Results show that urban network in China displays an obvious hierarchy in terms of attracting and distributing population and controlling regional interaction. Regional integration has become increasingly prominent, as administrative boundaries and natural barriers no longer have strong impacts on urban connections. Overall, 18 urban regions were identified according to urban connectivity, and the degree of urban connection is higher among cities in the same urban region. Due to geographical proximity and close interaction, several provincial capital cities form an urban region with cities from neighboring provinces instead of those from the same province. Identification of urban region boundaries is of significant importance for sustainable development and policymaking on the demarcation of urban economic zones, urban agglomerations, and future adjustment of provincial administrative boundaries in China.

Culinary tourism is the experience of finding and enjoying unique and impressive food and drinks in a new region. Each region has a unique food flavor and can be the right choice for culinary tourists who want to try new experiences regarding taste. Differences in tourist preferences in choosing culinary regions sometimes become obstacles in finding a suitable place. Price, distance, facilities, menu variations, and halalness are some of the things that tourists consider in choosing culinary locations. Therefore, it is essential to accommodate tourist preferences to produce appropriate recommendations because the characteristics of tourists in determining their favorite culinary places are very subjective and varied. This study aims to develop a culinary recommendation system based on user preferences using Fuzzy TOPSIS as a recommendation method. Ten criteria can be selected, and their weight value determined by the user. The final result of the recommendation system is an alternative culinary location ranking and map location, along with detailed culinary location information. Result evaluation shows that the system is suitable and useful for users. This study proposes some new criteria that have not been used in other research.
