A mixture cognitive diagnosis model (CDM), which is called mixture multiple strategy-Deterministic, Inputs, Noisy “and” Gate (MMS-DINA) model, is proposed to investigate individual differences in the selection of response categories in multiple-strategy items. The MMS-DINA model system is an effective psychometric and statistical approach consisting of multiple strategies for practical skills diagnostic testing, which not only allows for multiple strategies of problem solving, but also allows for different strategies to be associated with different levels of difficulty. A Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) algorithm for parameter estimation is given to estimate model, and four simulation studies are presented to evaluate the performance of the MCMC algorithm. Based on the available MCMC outputs, two Bayesian model selection criteria are computed for guiding the choice of the single strategy DINA model and multiple strategy DINA models. An analysis of fraction subtraction data is provided as an illustration example.

Currently 221 countries of the globe is affected with COVID- 19 pandemic caused by a novel corona virus naming SARSCoV- 2 and leads to more than 4000000 confirmed cases and more than 300000 death already. The South East Asia regions have many LMIC status where the health system is disorganized and less prepared than what it should be. Although India and Pakistan started to react against the pandemic with multiple strategy to combat the bloom of the epidemic, Bangladesh was relaxing as there were lack of confirmation of cases and although the country has prolonged period of time to combat the pandemic situation, it was not proactive from the beginning. Inappropriate screening at entry, poor quarantine process and gross lack of infection prevention and control measure leads to observe the confirmed cases to develop one by one. Even in this conservative testing approach of Bangladesh, a family of cluster (6 members) of confirmed COVID 19 was observed with development of huge question in health care system. We argue that what we count has a crucial impact on how we count, to the extent that even adults may have difficulty using elementary mathematical notions in concrete situations. Specifically, we investigate how the use of certain types of quantities (durations, heights, number of floors) may emphasize the ordinality of the numbers featured in a problem, whereas other quantities (collections, weights, prices) may emphasize the cardinality of the depicted numerical situations. We suggest that this distinction leads to the construction of one of two possible encodings, either a cardinal or an ordinal representation. This difference should, in turn, constrain the way we approach problems, influencing our mathematical reasoning in multiple activities. This hypothesis is tested in six experiments (N = 916), using different versions of multiple-strategy arithmetic word problems. We show that the distinction between cardinal and ordinal quantities predicts problem sorting (Experiment 1), perception of similarity between problems (Experiment 2), direct problem comparison (Experiment 3), choice of a solving algorithm (Experiment 4), problem solvability estimation (Experiment 5) and solution validity assessment (Experiment 6). The results provide converging clues shedding light into the fundamental importance of the cardinal versus ordinal distinction on adults’ reasoning about numerical situations. Overall, we report multiple evidence that general, non-mathematical knowledge associated with the use of different quantities shapes adults’ encoding, recoding and solving of mathematical word problems. The implications regarding mathematical cognition and theories of arithmetic problem solving are discussed.

The aim of researches conducted in thermal protection systems in aeronautics and astronautics field of engineering is to generally defend the craft from high heat loads during operation while operating at hypersonic regimes in air and space. The motive of the following composition is to draft a review analysis on ablative heating materials as thermal protective equipment on reusable planetary/atmospheric re-entry vehicles such as a space shuttle, an inter-continental ballistic missile, or a hypersonic cruise missile. The heat liberation can cause much damage to the aircraft/spacecraft whilst operation which is generally beyond repair. It is therefore of utmost importance to research multiple strategy to reduce the effect of shockwaves damage to spacecraft/aircraft materials. We shall initiate the analysis by mentioning some re-usable tile thermal protection system types such as high temperature reusable surface insulation tiles (H.R.S.I), fibrous refectory composite insulation tiles (F.R.C.I), low temperature reusable surface insulation tiles (L.R.S.I) and gradually move on to ablative thermal protection systems with the advent of reinforced carboncarbon’s application in astronautics and aeronautics respectively.
