A Focus on Male Homosexuality in Psychoanalytic Literature

Homosexuality has long been classified by many authors as a form of psychic immaturity. Today, it is widely accepted that homosexuality is not by definition a pathological development. In this article, I will focus on male homosexuality because I have been working with homosexual men for quite some time. In the first part, we will see that the Freudian and post-Freudian authors examined have largely emphasized the narcissistic failings of male homosexuals. In the Jungian corpus, which also serves as a reference, the homosexual is frequently considered as an individual whose relationship to his inner feminine is the result of a fusional identification with his mother. The abstract concepts of anima/animus have done little to remove homosexuality from the category of identity disorders. In the second part, I assume the possible existence of a homosexual instinct which everyone is confronted with and which would manifest itself in specific conditions. Certainly, no distinction between men and women should be made regarding my hypothesis of a homosexual instinct. However, from a scientific point of view, it has been impossible for me to prove that such an instinct really exists.

Amoebiasis of the Penis: A Review and Update

Ulceration of the penis/foreskin which would tend to be painful, Swelling of the penis, Oedema of the penis, Discharge from ulcer or inflamed area of penis that could be purulent or may contain blood, Balanoposthitis, Exudation from a penile ulcer which could be mild, profuse, purulent or bloody, Sloughing off of part of the foreskin and other tissues with resulting hypospadias, indurated swelling of the penis which may initially involve one part of the penis but could quickly spread, A history of homosexual coital activity may be obtained, The spouse of a man who has Amoebiasis of the penis could also have Amoebiasis of vulva, cervix or endometrium, The prepuce may not be retractable, There may be ulceration or swelling of the glans penis that may be irregular. Clinical examination findings in cases of Amoebiasis of the penis could reveal some of the ensuing: The general and systematic examinations may be normal. Examination of the penis may show: Tight non-retractile foreskin, Ulceration of foreskin, Swelling of the foreskin, Swelling of the glans penis, Ulceration and swelling of glans penis., Swelling and inflammation of the shaft of the penis, Ulceration on the shaft of the penis, Development of an iatrogenic hypospadias which was not there before, The inguinal lymph nodes may not be palpable but sometimes they may be enlarged on one side or on both sides, The penile swelling may involve part of the penis but at times on rare occasions the entire penis may be swollen, the penile swelling could on rare occasions extend to the supra-pubic area, On rare occasions the swelling of the penis could extend to include the scrotum but this is extremely rare. Amoebiasis of the penis does mimic various common conditions that affect the penis including: squamous cell carcinoma of the penis, chancroid, primary syphilitic ulcer of the penis, granuloma inguinale, balanoposthitis, and many other lesions affecting the penis. A high-index of suspicion is required to diagnose Amoebiasis of the penis. Clinicians need to be aware that male homosexuals who practice penetrative penis-anal coital activity have a higher risk of developing amoebiasis of the penis especially in Amoebiasis endemic countries. If an individual is suspected to have balanoposthitis or non-specific infection of the penis and is treated with antibiotics but the lesion does not respond to treatment, amoebiasis of the penis should be suspected. Secretions and discharges from the penile ulcer as well as biopsies of the penile lesion should be submitted for pathology examination which would demonstrate trophozoites, entamoebae as well as inflammatory cells. Even if carcinoma of the penis is initially suspected biopsy of the penile lesion would show features of Amoebiasis in the absence of any features of malignancy but in the very rare situation of a combination of Amoebiasis of the penis and carcinoma of the penis microscopic pathology examination of a biopsy specimen of the penile lesion would show features of Amoebiasis and carcinoma of the penis. .Amoebiasis of the penis does quickly and effectively respond to anti-amoebic medicaments.

Previsão da taxa de incidência dos casos de AIDS no município de Santa Maria – RS

The spread of AIDS was a striking social fact in the late twentieth century, mainly due to the lack of knowledge of sexually active people and drug users, spreading rapidly across five continents. Initially, it was associated with the group of male homosexuals. Over the years, other population segments became infected with the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). Thus, this article aims to compare forecasting methodologies to predict the incidence rate of AIDS per 100,000 inhabitants in Santa Maria between 2017 and 2022. For this purpose, two forecasting models were adjusted for each series (polynomial trend model plus an ARIMA model (p, d, q), and an exponential smoothing model). As the series show structural breakdowns due to various historical events in Brazil and around the world, prediction combinations methodologies were used through robust regressions, using the Weighted Least Squares, MM and Quantile Regression methods. We verified through the accuracy measures that, for men, the best forecasting methodologies were Model 1 and the regression forecast combinations, using the MM and RQ methods. For women, the best methodologies were Model 1 and regression prediction combinations by the RQ method.

Analysis on Verbal Communication of Male Homosexuals from the Sociolinguistic Perspective

Homosexuals, especially gays, have become a sub-cultural group which cannot be ignored in the modern society, therefore, it is necessary to promote the society to envisage the phenomenon of homosexuality. From the perspective of sociolinguistics, this study analyzes the chat histories of homosexual men on the social media in order to explore how they realize self-presentation and further discuss what dilemmas they are facing. This study aims to help homosexuals construct correct social identity and let public members in mainstream culture have a more particular knowledge of homosexuality.

Philip Kotler, nasceu em 27 de maio de 1931 na cidade Chicago nos Estados Unidos, Kotler se tornou mestre em Economia Pela Universidade de Chicago e seu Doutorado na mesma área no MIT. Segundo análise feita ao Google Scholar com o descritores” Administração de Marketing” e “Philip Kotler” a sua obra foi citada 11.846 vezes em português, entre os autores está Chiavenato (2004), Vieira (2002), Honorato (2004) e Tenório (2015). A competitividade do mercado tende a ser astuto, agregando diversas e complexas opções, tornando bastante energética a forma de conquistar e fidelizar clientes, mantendo fiéis dedicados. Dessa forma, conclui-se que o objetivo empresarial tende a superar o contexto simples de satisfação, incorporando o conceito de fidelização, comunicação e entrega de forma eficiente em uma sociedade globalizada. Behavior and experience of male homosexuals in Bangladesh

Homosexuality is defined as “the occurrence or existence of sexual attraction, interest and genitally intimate activity between an individual and other members of the same gender.” The objective of the study was to explore the behavior and experience of male homosexuals in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Due to hidden nature of this population, data were collected through a non-government organization working with them. This was a cross sectional study done during the period from March, 2009 to June, 2009. For this purpose, 102 male homosexuals were enrolled in the study by purposive sampling method and interviewed using a custom-built questionnaire. The results showed that all of the participants were biologically male with age ranged from 14-48 years and average age of first homosexual exposure for the participants was 11.75 years with a range from 4 to 27 years. The majority (56.9%) of the male homosexuals reported experiencing heterosexual intercourse. A high rate of sexual victimization history in childhood (64.7%) as well as in adulthood (49%) was reported. A sizable portion of the participants reported different discriminatory experiences including stigma and discrimination (48%), humiliation in public (49%), being cheated by male partner (60.8%), and exclusion from family (21.6%) because of their homosexual identity. Widespread childhood sexual abuse and discrimination clearly call for protective measures to be taken for safeguarding this vulnerable population. Bang J Psychiatry December 2016; 30(2): 41-44

Family relationships in the social network for young male homosexuals

ABSTRACT Objective: To evaluate the family relationships in the social network for young male homosexuals. Methods: this is a qualitative, descriptive, exploratory study anchored in the theoretical framework Social Network and including 20 male homosexuals selected by the Snowball technique through semi-structured script interview. The IRaMuTeQ software was analyzed by Similitude Analysis. Results: the primary social network was configured in the elements: 1 – Family affective ties: the center of the social network, 2 - Binding family relationship and religiosity. Final considerations: it was evaluated that the primary social network has been rooted to fragile relationships of socialization and solidarity, and that the social dimension is also rooted on conservatism, sexism/bigotry, and violence. When it comes to address this issue creates the contribution to the visibility of the homosexual youth family dynamics, since it represents the central core and first learning experience that will determine the development and ability to deal with adversities.
