Rationality and reasonableness are central tenets of folk theories of sound judgment

We explore folk theories of sound judgment across two cultures, with a particular focus on the distinction between rationality and reasonableness and how people apply these concepts in a range of social and non-social contexts. Four studies using English-speaking samples in North America (Studies 1-3; N=1,826) and a Mandarin-speaking sample in China (Study 4; N=659) examine spontaneous descriptions of characteristics of sound judgment, preferences for and perception of agents in different social contexts (varying in demands for rule-based vs. holistic approaches to decision-making), and categorization of non-social objects. People spontaneously considered both rationality and reasonableness as central features of sound judgment and yet assigned unique attributes to these standards when mapping concept networks. In experiments, people favored rational agents for contexts demanding analytic reasoning and reasonable agents for contexts demanding interpretive/holistic reasoning. Moreover, across cultures, people used rule-based categorization for rational judgment and overall-similarity categorization for reasonable judgment of non-social objects.

Representasi Makna Ideologis Kisah Aṣḥâb al-Kahf: Analisis Semiotika Roland Barthes Dalam Surah Al-Kahf

The Qur’an which brings many messages of religion, moral and humanity sometimes gives the representation of messages that will be delivered. In many chapters of the Qur’an, Allah has given beautifully messages through the stories. The messages that will be delivered through the stories are the representation of religion purposed as the one of mankind servitude parts that called by ulu al-albab and ulu al-absar. In this context, the content of the message in the story of ashab al-kahf has an important message for human (ummah). The approach from language and semiotics aspects proposed by Roland Barthes has adequate mode of analysis for examining the ideological meaning within the text. It is all after the long process and mind mapping of reading theory that formulated by Roland Barthes, this paper argues that the concept of Roland Barthes will give the effects of ideological understanding and be able to represent the implicit meanings of ashab al-kahf story completely, at least close to intact, although the human not be able to interpret the meaning appropriately like the interpretation of the Glory (sahib al-nass). Through the mapping concept of Roland Barthes semiotics’ theory, the systemic interpretation and understanding of the religion purpose in proving the unity story in a chapter (surah) will be compiled.

Structural Constructs and Ease Reduction Treatment Interface Related to Cling Fit

Garment cling fit is a proximal fit that emphasizes close clinging contour lines of the apparel maintained by it on the human body in regular postures and while performing primary movements. To understand the nature of interface between ease reduction treatments and structural constructs, three-dimensional (3D) modeling of human body using body mapping concept and ease reduction treatment’s role in explaining the garment strain patterns in cling fit conditions were investigated. We report the impact of ease reduction treatment that defines the proportions and measurements of the cling fit pattern with reference to human body surface profile.

Pengembangan Lembar Kegiatan Peserta Didik Mata Pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia Berkonsep Mind Mapping di SMA

Abstrak Penelitian pengembangan lembar kegiatan peserta didik (LKPD) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas belajar peserta didik, menggunakan konsep mind mapping yang maksimal, mampu menciptakan proses belajar yang aktif, dan menyenangkan pada pembelajran Bahasa Indonesia di SMA Al Azhar kelas XII. Pengembangan LKPD pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia berkonsep mind mapping digunakan sebagai media bahan ajar untuk membantu peserta didik atau mempermudah peserta didik dalam pembelajaran. Dengan begitu, peserta didik cenderung tidak kesulitan ketika pembelajaran tanpa adanya acuan media bahan ajar (LKPD). Pengembangan LKPD dalam penelitian ini menggunakan konsep mind mapping yaitu suatu peta konsep pikiran yang digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran mudah mengingat banyak informasi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dan pengembangan yang mengacu pada model penelitian dan pengembangan Dick and Carey. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah deskripsi kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan LKPD dengan konsep mind mapping pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia layak digunakan sebagai media ajar guna meningkatkan kualitas belajar peserta didik. Hasil validasi dari ahli materi menyatakan LKPD layak digunakan dengan persentase sebesar 76,36%, sedangkan dari ahli desain media pembelajaran diperoleh tingkat pencapaian kelayakan sebesar 84,44%. Uji kelayakan teman sejawat mencapai 83,63% dan uji coba pada peserta didik kelas XII SMA Al Azhar diperoleh tingkat pencapaian kelayakan sebesar 93,9%. Kata kunci: lembar kegiatan peserta didik, konsep mind mapping, bahasa Indonesia Abstract The research on the development of student activity sheets (LKPD) aims to improve the quality of learning of students, use the maximum mind mapping concept, is able to create an active and enjoyable learning process in learning Indonesian in Al Azhar High School class XII. The development of LKPD on Indonesian language subjects with mind mapping concept is used as a medium of teaching materials to help students or facilitate students in learning. That way, students tend to have no difficulties when learning without reference to the instructional material media (LKPD). The development of LKPD in this study uses the concept of mind mapping, which is a mind concept map that is used in the learning process easily remembering a lot of information. This research is a research and development that refers to the Dick and Carey research and development model. Data was analyzed by using quantitative description. The results of this study revealed that Indonesian Language LKPD Lessons Conceptual Mind Mapping is worthy of being used as a teaching media to improve the learning quality of students. The results of the validation from the material expert stated that the LKPD was feasible to use with a percentage of 76.36%, while the expert of learning media design obtained an attainment level of 84.44%. Peers' feasibility test reached 83.63% and trials on class XII students of Al Azhar High School obtained an achievement level of 93.9%. - The android mobile mapping application is very popular nowadays because it really helps people for daily activities, especially helping gamers especially to find the location of the nearest cybercafe that has qualified specifications to play eSport games, the rapid world of eSport gaming which has more international tournaments. more and more people are focusing on becoming an esport gaming athlete, every esport game requires high computer specifications in order to play it smoothly and without hindrance, this is where the role of cybercafe is, cybercafe provides high-specification computer facilities which are capable of accommodating various eSport games like Dota -2, CS:GO, PUBG, Fortnite, and others. And this application is a liaison between gamers and cybercafe locations located, this application uses the very relevant LBS method used in an application based on the mapping concept, this application is created using an android studio which is thought to be qualified to make an application that is user friendly and easy to use, besides this application also requires an internet connection because it is connected directly to google maps, navigation is very important in the operation of this application.
